CAUTION: As the meat birds do not have a covering of feathers, they still need a heat lamp outside with temps below 70°. They will get wet from dew & rain and not be able to stay warm. They die from the cold or from suffocation as they pack up to get warm. Many new meat bird owners lose their birds because they think the birds are old enough and should be fine. Egg layers, yes. Meat birds, No. They are different animals with different requirements. Their bodies put all energy into growing fast and not into self preservation, hence few feathers. Please be careful or you may have a costly loss.

Good luck on the offer. We have had rain for days..most our produce has survived due to tenting our raised beds but the green beans and corn have to be replanted. My pumpkins and spaghetti squash are yellow but are trying to come out of it. It went from a rain soaked freezer straight to the high 80's boiling pot. The soil just compacted to the point of being concrete. But all in all it all has survived. We've been struggling with keeping our chicks happy...ready to be in the tractor but due to the wet and cold have needed extra heat in the tractor but they are dry and happy. We put small pallets in the back of the tractor to keep them off the ground and tarped the tractor on the windward side and top to keep the rain out. The struggle is real! Lol. Be safe.

Our 350 acre farm is missing many species of birds , frogs, snakes and insects. We do not spray. We raise grass fed beef and prime hay. We have lost many types of bumblebees. All of this a sign of global warming and pesticide damage. We also log and are watching trees being stressed. All we can do is be good stewards of what remains and shelter in place...

A small note; most fans not designed explicitly for the purpose(ceiling fans, range hood fans for example) use sleeve bearings which do not work well when oriented vertically and will wear out sooner than intended. You will get more life out of the fan and keep it quiet and low vibration during that life by mounting it such that the fan axle is horizontal and using a deflector to blow the air downwards. You might even find that a single fan would cover enough area with sufficient airflow to dry several bins at once.

I started my first for real garden this year, waiting patiently till my peppers and tomatoes are just a bit larger before I put them in the ground We are still getting some low temps @ night. I bought a Cilantro plant, we love Tex-Mex in our home, it died when I repotted it, but again waiting for warmer temps to try again, maybe I will just start from seed this time. Any advice would be helpful with the herbs; Mike and Lacie yours always look so fresh and tasty. Your birds, look great, and I think you are going to add bacon seedlings to the farm. All the best, tell Micah he did a great job in the brooder barn today.

I think you need a rain gauge located on your black for business use.
I do not live in NC but from what I know most of the CCC they are not fully ready for outside living. They will suffer chills in the rain etc. as their body covering is not full enough to protect them. As they are such voracious feeders I think another feeder is needed to serve this number of birds. I am still stunned at their growth rates.
