To elaborate on my original point, games like hockey, baseball, soccer, and basketball have so many games in a season that it’s impossible to win nearly all of them. You’re going to lose some, even when you’re really good and the other guys aren’t. If you play 80 games in a season, there’ll be something like 15 or 20 that you can’t win, regardless of what you do. There’ll be about the same number that you can’t lose regardless of what you do. It’s how you handle the remaining ones that determine whether you’re a great team or not, and your humbleness and grace both in victory and in loss that marks whether you deserve that greatness.

Waders27 he’s taken a couple shots at media before so that could definitely be it. He might also have meant the building is a difficult one to play in especially considering the oilers record there in the past decade

Imagine him saying "I love playing in Toronto" while in Toronto, home of the Toronto sports media, and then leaving it at that. Remember Stamkos and Tavares and the CONSTANT "They want to come home" talk that circled them and their teams for YEARS? They've already been saying that since McDavid got drafted. If he leaves it like that it causes a media to take those words and throw them all over incessantly. Adding the "it's always good to leave" at the end covers his ass and keeps his quote from being used against him and the Oilers for the rest of his contract.

This was my first ever leafs game and it was really fun even though they lost I had a blast 😆
The team didn't look that bad, was no 6-1 pittsburgh. Couple of softish penalties in the 1st probably threw momentum off and it was clear that it was an emotional game, like with McDavid aggressively bumping into Nylander on the first goal. I think it was the most penalties we have taken in a game since Keefe took over. And as an Aussie, really great to hear you spreading the word to help with donations with the bushfires. We got the people and the organisations here to deliver what we need, just not enough resources thanks to stingy people in government. From what i have seen the vast amount of donations to charities are really really helping the most effected. Cheers McDangle!

2 goalies, no saves last night. i'm starting to think rielly's norris season last year was an outlier, god damn...he got embarrassed. and yes, the only way to stop being fucked with, 1 on 1, is playing the body but mcdavid has done this enough times that maybe he can't be stopped....and now i'm trying to remember how many times frieza killed krillin...it was at least 2, pre-healing. i think the re-signing of holl means no pietr this summer. needed every penny to get him for 9M/ and have enough space for a couple low budget minors Dee.

Not sure why everyone is getting worked up about McDavid deking out Rielly. I wasn't surprised at all. Not because of how good McDavid is, just that I've known for a long time that Rielly is average at playing defense. I've watched him long enough to know that for all his ability to drive offense, his defensive awareness is seriously lacking, but that's the situation for most offensive minded D men. Toronto has another elite offensive D man with the same issue who can't play defense. Leafs fans, just be happy that you have an offensive D man like Rielly because most teams (including the Oilers) don't.
