**Note When observing the video the camera angle makes it appear that the rounds may have struck the shooting bag during the accuracy test. But that's not the case. In reviewing my film, before I published it, I wanted to make sure the shooting bag did not interfere with the trajectory. I shot it again off camera. The second time I had the pistol handle on top of the bag and the results were the almost identical size groups. It is what it is. A rough spot in a pellet shell can also cause a flyer. Thanks for watching 👍
I’ve managed to acquire a bunch of this type of replica air guns, and my Webley pellet gun is one of my favorites. It shoots really nicely, very accurate, very fun to shoot.
Glad you explained the shooting bag possible issue as I was thinking that was a factor affecting the accuracy. Also rifled barrels on airguns tend to like a bit of lead build up (lead lining as we call it in the UK) it tends to allow a smoother travel for the pellets along the rifle grooves, a lot of companies recommend you put at least 100 pellets through the barrel of a new airgun before it will start to reach optimum performance/accuracy.
I have had both these revolvers for several years but I maybe have 100 rounds through both of them. I appreciate you watching and thankyou for your comments👍😉
@@AirgunDetectives I have the BB-version of this. Can I buy Pellet-shells and use it in my BB-pistol to shoot Pellets? You said that in this video, I just want to make sure I heard correct. It won't damage the revolver?
@@WhattAreYouSaying It's ok to use pellets in a BB barrel (smoothbore ) Not a good thing to use BB's in the pellet version or rifled barrel. Steel BB's can and will with consistent use, wear down the rifling ruining the barrel and any chance of accuracy.
Great review. I have the BB version and its a very accurate gun when I use pellets. I have ordered the new civilian model of this gun also, but in rifled barrel. Cheers from Norway 👍
Hi JC, another good replica of a historical revolver. of the armed forces of the uk and british empire.1887 to 1963. It's very similar to the real, good weapon for collectors. of co2 and for fun in the garden.. Thanks for the great review. All the best. Cheers
Yes I made a mistake the other video the pistol was based on the 1873 not the 1860-1851 style. Very cool I dig it . Great for keeping sharp and have fun blasting cans or whatever you like.
Those are some very nice pistols I can’t believe how fast they are. They are both very impressive looking. I would love to have either one of them. Keep up the great work air gun detectors 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I've been wanting a Webley revolver like this for some time now, but dealers here in Canada have had 'no stock' for seemingly ages now. My choice is for pellet/ rifled barrel too. I am even more determined to buy one now after this good review JC, Thanks for this one.
Hi there, your channel is brilliant, it truly is, you get good and honest reviews and like this video accurate history about the airgun your reviewing, Also very detailed and thorough reviews on the operation of the airguns themselves, and i was deciding on my next pistol and this video has just decided that, so thank you from your brothers across the pond, 🇬🇧🇺🇲, take care an stay safe
It is time to recalibrate the valve systems for co2 pistols sold in the US to give close to 600 fps . In so doing, airguns would be capable of target and plinking at out to 5o feet plus easily , as well as more impact on reactive targets. Behaving more like 22 rimfire at close range
If you Chrony pellets out of the smoothbore you will be surprised at the higher velocity. The pellets act like a gas seal at keep more gas behind them. I tried this in a Schofield and was getting over 500 fps with 7 gr pellets
I enjoy your videos as they are consistent and follow the same format for each gun you review. In this video, which is the first pistol review I've viewed, you're using your right eye to sight the pistol with your right hand on the trigger. When you shoot rifles, you use your left eye to sight with your left hand on the trigger. I'm right-handed but left-eye dominant. What gives?
That my friend...is what we call ambidextrous to the fullest. I am just strange, I am more comfortable shooting a rifle left-handed and a pistol right-handed. But I am very capable of shooting from both sides if necessary. Thank you for tuning in👍😉
A very good review once again! Thanks JC! I'm also one of them not really liking the model of these Webleys. But I do have known them to be a very good choice for those who are into revolvers. Good quality with decent fps numbers.. The accuracy.. Never actually seen or held one of these myself. But I'd guess these also have a spring loaded inner barrel as many other revolvers do. And there can be some play/wiggle of the inner barrel is to cause variation in accuracy.. My Remington 1875 at least has a bushing and a spring carrying the front tip of the inner barrel. A bushing in the rear also of course to seal against the cartridges. My 1875 was not crazy accurate originally either at my usual 20ft pistol distance. Kinda just hit randomly within about a 3" sized area..
Bror, you are correct. There is a spring mechanism between the barrel and the cylinder that creates the seal and lines up the barrel. However, the inner barrel itself is stationary. There must be a spring loaded short sleeve that goes over the rear of the barrel and pushes against the cylinder. I have not taken it apart because it shoots accurate enough for what it is designed. There is never a can standing 😉 Have you looked at the Nagant Gletcher NGT CO2 BB or Pellet Revolver. I have 2 of those, in SS Finish, both pellet and BB. They are great shooters and the build quality is amazing! I'll feature those one day.
@@AirgunDetectives I think I've seen one hideo of the Nagant revolver at some point - but I can't really remember much about it. The name though is familiar.. But I surely will be ready to watch your take on that revolver also.
Great review as always JC 👍 I wonder if the long freebore in those pellet cartridges is a potential source of problems? Perhaps the presumably still-accelerating pellets slamming into the rifling is causing accuracy issues not seen with the smoothbore guns firing pellets out of the same cartridges....?? Perhaps longer pellets that naturally would sit closer to the bore in the cartridge would help things as well....might be worth a test sometime... Kind Regards.
As fun as my co2 Schofield is to play with, co2 is a pain to keep ready to shoot. In winter cartridges don't last long. . . A Crosman 1377 single shot pump is the best, cheaper to shoot. . . with a pellet and a scope, you get 800 power, 200 foot range and accuracy,. . . and if you can find a 1980's model with the magnet in the bolt for BB's, you get less accuracy but serious penetration.
Great review as always but would have liked to have seen more of a comparison between the finishes on the battle version and the black version models to help me make my mind up. Take care from the UK.

@AirgunDetectives Not sure if you check videos this old, but i tbink my theory mentioned below might be worth exploring....let me know what you think if you read this 👍
That is a possibility. I went through several shells and polished the bores just to make the trajectory as smooth as possible. The reality is that it's like having a long barrel that starts out as a smooth bore, and the last 75% is a rifled barrel. The transition may be causing an issue with the pellets. Thank you for sharing that👍🏻😉
