I really miss super greedy fatigue warrior decks. The peak of those decks in Whispers of the Old Gods was some of the most fun I ever had playing HS
Wallet Warrior was so good
Important thing to note about old Warrior decks was that the only mass removal you had was two brawls, only four point removals: Shield slam and execute.
They have been adding more and more mass removal (Zilliax, Inventor Boom, Sanitize), more and more point removal to the point that current Warrior is not a control deck in the slightest; You just remove the enemy board every turn until you win. Same as frost mage, although even frost mage needed minions on board.
Liking "attrition" warrior isn't same as liking classic control Warrior: "Attrition" Warrior is strictly a singleplayer experience, where rounds are dependent not on how you play (many minions -> mass removal, one big minion -> point removal), but only on what cards you draw.
Very boring. Used to play fatigue warrior in Old Gods btw.
Those decks and quest priest were my absolute favorites to play of all time.
@@benshulz4179 its called "Attrition" warrior.. Nutrition warrior is what you call your mom when she hassles you on eating ur vegetables at dinner. 😆
@@Sk00by attrition is already a misnomer: Resources do not matter at all for these modern "control" decks, you just drop down zilliax/inventor boom and heal yourself back to full instantly
Ayo! This is my list you're playing. Hope you enjoy "bombing your mmr"
haha legendary!!! 😂🤣
I love the concept of a list like this, can you explain why you play the copy module instead of the virus one for zilliax? And I'm guessing Part Scrapper was tested but not worth the slot?
@@drewpeacock9087 Virus is better. I was experimenting with this list before players started using the 8 mana Zilliax. Most likely, it's a better inclusion.
Hey Clark i made myself the best wardeck you can’t loose if you want it, you’ll never seen that before
I love attrition metas. Games like a control mirror really exemplifies who has better impulse control
Yeah and any deck that likes to play big boards should just uninstall. Control is extremely unfun to play against, especially when all their cards are custom cards
@@asheryunan lol should the whole game be aggro? You probably lose against control because you’re overcommitting on board
@@asheryunan yeah God forbid roguestone has any counters. How dare other classes be able to stop you from winning on turn 5 after you fill the board with giants or set up a 32 damage combo.
@@asheryunanwe found the aggro player
That little gag when the 3 25/28 taunts came down towards the end 😂
Too bad warrior is unbalanced and can clear literally anything for 5 mana or less. Brawl really needs to cost 7
@@asheryunan You mean "not clear"? Brawl is so op so nobody even plays it. 😂 99% of decks have it from gift or ETC
@@asheryunan Dumb 25/28 need nerf it's so frustrating a minion get 30 stats !!
@@asheryunanbrawl was the literal worst example you could have given for op removal.
@@asheryunan If the game doesnt have something that can remove 25/28, this game is dead for sure
don't lie rarran, everyone knows that your true queen is sonya, for you know what reason
Sonya big steppa
Sonya foot fungussy
probably the most obvious example of a signature version being much worse that the regular one
You mentioning attrition reminded me of my favourite deck of all time being elemental mage with frost lich Jaina, full healing off a baron geddon board in fatigue and it still being unclear if me or the priest would win
As an OG control warrior player from the Nax days, this makes me want to play the game again. I LOVE control warrior...
I used to play hearthstone and watching your content brought me back, I quit in grand tournament and returned when you slide into my recommendations and got me excited during badlands.
"He needs 6"
random leroy in his deck for no reason : "my time has come"
I feel like you always go for the 1 mana ignis weapon lethal at 22:13
Yeah you're right.
was thinking the same thing at that moment
Yeah was thinking you play it prior to Brawl too, as you're looking to reduce the odds of a taunt surviving.
Crazy that handbuff DK didn't 1: run gnome muncher or 2: generate a gnome muncher. would've completely turned that game around.
That kind of death knight deck and the warrior deck is exactly the kind of game i want to play. The hand buff DK is so fun
Funny that you said about the Baku Genn in standard format since martian buu and djnn just did exactly that
The last time I played the game a lot was 2017/Un'goro, but it's still fun to watch what the game is up to.
I have not played a serious game of constructed hearthstone since cube lock, still watch your videos from time to time since i find them entertaining.
I use to play a long time ago (Grim Patron era) - literally just installed the game today. Made an Odyn deck for armor...love it so far and so confused on everything new lmao
I really liked the idea for a video of standard but with Baku/Genn
Last year we had svana priest that was kinda a super control fatigue deck
I rarely play Hearthstone anymore, just enjoy watching you and Eddy play
I agree on attrition ganes being so fun!
the game never changes. you love to see it.
Wild has actually felt really stable overall. The meta has slowed down a surprising amount, allowing for some really nice control matches.
Except the new demon seed deck. I think mass production is a little too op
I don't play any Hearthstone, never really played it either. I just really enjoy card games, and in particular, your personality and creativity when it comes to deck challenges. Keep it up! You're a great content creator
Rare needs to put that desk night game on his Hearthstone resume.
I miss value matchups. Favorite time in hearthstone was fighting Control Warrior in the Witchwood meta with Academic Espionage Rogue and Tess
Stopped playing awhile back, but I enjoy you as creator, so I watch your content regardless. Also, these videos are dope when closing the day, I usually watch these in bed lmao good night homies!
im so glad someone actually made a deck that uses Justicar. I was so hype for her coming to Standard and the only deck I made flopped and i kinda suck at deckbuilding anyways so I just use whatever someone else uses.
I threw her into my hero power druid deck, It's probably worse for it since it makes the deck slower and it struggles to keep up with agro as it is, but I mainly play it for the fun of seeing how big I can make the hero power number go anyway.
My favourite deck ever was a Gnomeferatu Fatigue Warlock. Hitting the enemy's combo piece is so satisfying
I'm having a lot of fun in meta with Pipsi Big Paladin at the moment coming back to the game, cruised up to Diamond and has some excellent high-roll potential if you want them highlight clips
I love these control match-ups. So much time for crazy combos. I hate dying on turn 4
I play occasionally, but not nearly as much since the death of duels. I love watching your content still and like to try out the decks you display from time to time.
I’m part of your audience that rarely plays Hearthstone anymore but likes to watch the content. But I might craft Whizbang and play some games soon to get back into it. The upcoming twist format actually sounds pretty fun too
I totally agree with you. The game that made me quit HS was me as a Divine Shard Quest priest vs Imp Warlock back in Murders. Imagine how I felt to clear their last board of threats, only for a 40+ damage Sire D to come down and instakill me.
speaking of Gen and Baku I had an idea today at work (idk if you already did something similar)
how about one player plays only even cost cards (and 1 deck can have gen) and 1 player can play odd cost cards (and 1 deck with Baku)
I'm betting that Blizzard would only do custom games if people playing against their friends became WAY more common. I'd be shocked if even 1% of games weren't through matchmaking.
I'd play against my friend all the time if there was customs
A bit of a self fulfilling prophecy sadly
A bit of a self fulfilling prophecy sadly
I used to play heartstone and stopped at Lich King due to power creep/wild degradation. via the day9+blizzards anniversary events your great personality and content in my recommendations made me aware of the design direction changed more to being for people who play the game and embraced complexity
I have not played hearthstone in years, love to watch your vids tho
It was a long time ago I played HS myself, but I enjoy watching :)
One question though: It was a really long time ago I last saw someone play shaman - how is the meta treating that class?
I have to admit I really liked the set in the beginning (first 1 or 2 days) and then once the meta was figured out I haven’t came back.
I play Hearthstone religiously, Rarran.
Heyo. I don’t play Standard, but my experience of the meta in Wild has been a bit frustrating. The insane buff given to Highlander cards is very difficult to deal with because the pool of cards available in Wild make the Highlander restriction somewhat irrelevant. I thought it felt a lot better when there was some counter-play by shuffling things like Albatross or Plagues or Bombs (or whatever) to slow down the advantage Highlander would have. By contrast, aggro decks are also very strong (Pirate Rogue is just silly in Wild now) and while there are a lot of very interesting decks that are possible to run, but most games I’ve been playing don’t have as much variance as I would think there would be. For clarity: I don’t want decks to be unusable (despite my personal bias, I don’t want Highlander to go away); I just think Wild needs a similar shake-up to Standard and maybe curve the amount of power creep that has occurred to allow many decks to at least feel good to play rather than not being able to get going (vs. aggro) or being unable to do absolutely everything at all stages of the game (vs. Highlander). Just my opinion. 🙂
Keep up the good work, bud!
Rarran's top decking is insane
Attrition should definately make a come back to punish excessive card draw
yeah im with Rarren, its really nice to actually get to 10 mana before exploding
I've been watching for a long time but havent played HS since like 2019
Back in my day we had slow win conditions like mechathun and just cthun and they weren’t even the greatest win conditions the best decks were you just threw 30 good cards together and you played them and it was the most fun the game was
Fat C’thun Warrior was one of my favorite decks ever, and I miss the hell out of those days
Yeah, the old slow mechathun decks... nowadays you can win on turn 4 with mechathun deck in wild 🤣
As a priest player, attrition is my favorite. During titans, control priest vs BBB deathknight was one of my favorite machtups
Well yeah, because it's extremely one-sided
lmao
fr blizz should make a custom game editor in hs. i would play so much more if me and my friends could play around in our own formats or mess around with the rules
Id love to see a format of Genn and Baku in Standard, I'm dure Eddie would cook something up
Just playing frog shaman and vibing
Stopped playing hearthstone after "Who am I, none of your business". RUclips randomly recommended your channel after I watched Toast for nostalgic reasons. Stayed for the content after your opponent(friends?) burnt their guff and yelled painfully.
Great take on nutrition decks i miss them too
😬
The most fun I ever had in Hearthstone was playing this insanely slow Highlander Priest Deck with Nzoth in it. I would be running Dreadlords and Sludge Belchers and I knew it wasn't optimal but grinding games down to complex late game situations while not losing to aggro was a fun puzzle to solve
I use to play a lot but I fell out of love with Hearthstone but now I can just enjoy your content and your suffering o7 Rarran
Vs the deathknight I think the last turn should have been ignis into a 1 cost weapon for higher odds at killing all taunts but otherwise it was a flawless game
A lack of attrition decks is the #1 reason I dont have any interest in returning to HS, so I'll agree with you I'd love to see it back. Is my favourite type of gameplay, assuming its a lot of interaction focus.
i play at coffe brake 1 game but i love to watch the new metas and combinations wizbang is my deck some i win some i loose but have fun
I constantly get games like this because I just instant concede when its paladin or demon hunter.
@rarran i used to play and fell off but watched you throughout started back up recently here and there but its soo weird feel like i gotta play all day everday just to get quests done
I play hearthstone once every few days or so, mostly just quests
I just watch Rarran because I like Rarran... simple as that for me.
i really like hearstone, when i play 1 on 1 with my friend, while we both drunk :)
Is odyn too greedy in there? Alone because of justicar hes pretty fun. After playing him you get 4 attack and 4 armor for 2 mana. Every turn
Whats with the "wake up honey" isnt that from Northernlion ?
bruh I faced like two decks with Justicar in a row yesterday how
I'm one of the viewers who used to play HS and now after so many years I dont even dare to come back into it because I'm afraid of what it would cost to even get started with all the new expansions. Before I quit I disenchanted my entire collection so I could probably craft a deck x10 over but still...
I really like hearthstone and love playing silly decks, that's why I watch your videos
The reason I dont play anymore is I can only craft one full deck every three months lol
I think a majority of people prefer midrange or control metas, since you can play goofier decks and entertain more strategies as more cards come from the deck.
Rarran make a poll to see how many play HS vs just watch you!
So, never saw u before, also am coming back to hs, fav class is definitely Warrior, but came to comment that I really enjoyed the way you comment and play!
it’s nice to see the quest changes reverted but I think I’m kind of just… over it? haven’t even touched the battle net app in weeks
I'd have gone for the 1-cost poisonous weapon.
He Rarran I just don’t have time to play after becoming a father but your videos are always so enjoyable and keep me up to date with what’s going on
Awesome first game followed by the complete opposite in second
rouge has 4 tier 0 decks rn in wild, i hit legend by playing 1 mana card draws into 0 mana giants on t2-3
Woah woah 1 minute upload time
random thought, ask blizz if you can be the face of custom games - highlighting its capabilities months before it comes out blue balling us the whole time whilst watching your vids... self presenting opportunity but I digress. ask for exclusivity (start by asking for crumbs and reverse engineer the meal)
Just played a control DK mirror that went to fatigue where I won because my opponent was shuffling plagues into my deck and I kept my hand at 10 cards, milling them without them activating. Some of the most fun I’ve had in a while, I’ve missed fatigue games
Create a poll in the channel to ask how much people play the game and how much just watch u
For someone who stopped playing around 2019 and then came back about 6 months ago, this game is SO OVERWHELMING now. I play mostly BG but I managed to get Plat 1 so far with plague DK, but there are soooo many cancer decks imo now. The power creep is insane with all the Reno cards, the discard 100 cards and infinite card draw :(
I think a big part of why aggro has become so popular recently is that the decks are cheap and good. As a F2P player I will open maybe ~20-30 packs at the start of the expansion, the dust overall will let me build like 1-2 cheap decks and if I want to win and climb those r generally going to be cheap aggro decks.
Just came back after years of playing. If I see another paladin that does nothing fun but lay minions with a +2/1 spell, I am gonna snap.
Idk why this doesn't have part scrapper with all 800 ways you can gain armor, but I can confirm this shit sucks to play against Plagueknight, esp when you get them 5 times in a row to test the deck
stop playing casual mode then lol.. and part scrapper is just a shit overrated card
I go like months off and on of actually playing the game but I don’t miss a single video on either of your yt pages. You make great content. I love the game but I’m too competitive to grind the game to keep it free to play because I play other games at a high level and I can’t take time off of them to play this consistently but also don’t want to spend 100+ dollars to keep playing meta decks plus I hate disenchanting cards lmao
I’m really enjoying Deathknight, I’m starting to test out rainbow without the plague package as it no longer wins Reno matchups and is way too slow against aggro. Full disclosure I’m only plat 3 (hit platinum for the first time this month)
I've enjoyed a small plague core; you still just body slow decks with a Helya and sometimes you have to kill a Panner or whatever on 2 and Ship is fine for that, plus it's some unexpected reach late. Occasionally you can go bigger on plagues via discovers of Kveldars and Staves to beat up Warriors and other slow decks, but most of the time those three are enough.
Played in classic now just watch you.
7:20 Rogue players would like to have a chat with you Lol
What would be a good replacement for Boomboss?
Any other card that can delete 3 cards from deck, 3 cards from hand and 3 minions from board. Maybe Tickatus but it is wild Warlock card, oh Admiral Hooktusk, but she is wild rogue legendary. Try Symphony of sins in Warlock.
Yeah, i miss attrition too.
I dont play heartstone at all anymore. I played in classic till like grand tournament, but i quit at some point cause i was mostly a free to play player and by the time i got all the cards to build a decent deck, a new expansion would come out and the meta would change.
Youre the only heartstone player i watch these days and i mostly enjoy your different duel concepts against other creators. ❤
Rarran is gonna blame Demon Hunter for his divorce.
Blizzard better listen to the decree of King of Hearthstone and give custom format options!
Does boom boss bombs destroy the deal 5 damage bombs in deck? Anyone knows?
It does, it can also hit Plagues, Frost Tyrants, etc. Only things it can't hit are other TNTs.
Meta has been better with the warrior nerfs although warrior still feels frighteningly consistent due to zilliax + boom re summons being able to stabilise from any position.
Still, I’m able to play mage now without having a 30% win rate due to grindy brann games or DH weapon decks so it feels much better.
and since you asked, i for example played hearthstone a lot (legend regularly), didnt want to keep up with the meta so i watch you since youre entertaining. id watch other games from you too tho
It’s so funny that he starts out saying people that watch his content used to play hs and don’t now bc all I play is bgs not constructed
I play the game daily for like an hour that probably contains 1 or two games that take forever against highlander warrior or similar decks and the 3 to 4 matches getting absolutely clapped by all this flood decks (i play reno priest) i can't even survive to coin board clears like gnomelia and usually lose unless i hit the absolute best draws if just these decks were fewer i would play for like 4 hours but it's just not fun to clear a board just for the hunter to fill it the next turn
I played alot from Classic all the way to Ungoro and stopped due to burn out then played every new expansion for a few weeks until Ashes when Demon hunter came out which really killed the game for me and the games got way too fast for it to have any form of fun and now it feels the problem has goten worse, like seeing 10 mana is in so few games or you just get so rolled by aggro which has infinite draw and as a control it feels like a wave base survival game not a game about smart plays and trying to make the most of your cards which I dont want, if the game slowed down I would return in a heartbeat but til then I will just watch content
I loved old hearthstone. The slower, more methodical playstyle of playing around your opponents deck. The back and forth of it was great
I recently came back to Hearthstone, and I can tell you, losing on turn 4 with no ability to fight back or counter-play is the least fun I can have.
edit; I've also won games on turn 5-6 and even thats not fun for me. It's like "yay a win.. but i didnt really play the game?"
Came back to HS cus of blood DK, stopped playng after i realised that my arquetype will never get new cards to play with
