3:36 I can't remember the streamer who said this (was probably Krip or Trump) but they guessed that having an all neutral deck would be the most terrible thing for the game. Imagine an all-neutral deck was meta: You play against Rouge, it is the neutral deck. You play against Demon Hunter, it is the neutral deck. You play against Druid, it is the neutral deck. You can see how terrible that would be for game play if every single one of your opponents was running this deck because it was better than other options for the class.
Yeah, Neutralstone during Cobolds was fun for the first 2 weeks but facing bonemare and fungus dude got boring real quick.
I used to play shadowverse in its early days. The Wonderland Dreams expansion had this exact problem. The neutral synergy deck was so strong it was pretty much all you would see from all classes. The meta was miserable to play in.
@@afrojoe725I WAS ABOUT TO SAY EXACTLY THIS! In shadowverse’s defense, according to my hazy memory there WERE class cards that had “if you had x neutral cards in your deck” or something, so the neutral decks had a lil’ bit of seperation, but still, horrible horrible time lol
That's why class cards are stronger than neutrals
I think the only reasonable way to have something like this would be a series of class cards with "Start of game: If you have no other class cards in your deck, draw this" plus a specific effect that's different for each class. Each class would have an "all"-neutral deck, but those decks could be radically different to the other class "neutral decks".
I hope the Slay the spire video does well too. Not only I love the game, I think it's great for RUclipsr to post outside of their niche, I always support that ❤

I really want a dedicated Darkest Dungeon or Darkest Dungeon 2 video series. I loved it when Trumpsc did it back in the day. Somehow it's a good gateway game, probably due to it's strong aesthetic.

If you are doing the neutral vs class card video, you could look at it in a few different "eras". Class cards have always been stronger (by design, you don't want a nearly-all neutral deck to be meta, since all matchups will be the same), but it has gotten more and more in the favour of class cards. You don't have to go expansion by expansion of course, that would be a very long video. But you could for instance do "early" (before Old Gods for instance, before Standard was added), "in between" (idk around Uldum or something), and "modern" (i.e. current standard)
In the kobolds era neutral cards were pretty much on par with class cards. Everyone was running the good taunt cards and fungalmancer etc

I'm a professional writer, and the way I approach it is : there is the "money" work and the "passion" work. I don't expect the money work to fulfill me emotionnally, and I don't expect the passion work to do well number-wise. If there's any overlap, that's great, but that's a bonus I'm not waiting for.

Hey Rarran, have you ever thought about doing montage/compilation/highlight videos on your main channel? I am suggesting this because I think people would be more interested in seeing non-hearthstone related content if it was in a well edited montage of good moments from various games, challenges, and stream clips. I am not sure on the analytics behind my claims, but as a avid Rarran fan, I would be more inclined to see more non-hearthstone Rarran content if it was interspliced within content that I am more likely to already be familiar with it, as opposed to clicking on a video with non-hearthstone content from my own free will. Something like a sample or a taste test to see what content I am missing because I am a mainly hearthstone content consumer.

@Rarran I love watching all of your content, but I came and stayed overall for your Hearthstone content. You've just really got the rhythm and vibe for Hearthstone down really well (I mean, come on, think of your hours).
I think the only thing really "holding you back" perse is just a lack of existing in other games' "environment". Not to say that your other content is bad, it's not, I genuinely enjoy it, but you just feel so natural in Hearthstone.

Rarran, you should make a video "Bulding a Deck Around Each Classes Worst Legendary". Like Moorabi, Duskfallen Aviana, Bolvar Fordragon, Sherazin(,Corpse Flower). I think it would be a good challenge for you and Eddie if you guys have any of those god awful cards sitting around.

I am thankful bran got a nerf despite enjoying playing the deck myself. I never had much luck with it though. I'm a bit confused why they didn't even give bran extra stats or rush or taunt or something for the cost spiking to 8. I'll admit I'm still a bit tilted by all the games I've lost to that deck so I kind of enjoy how they have to spend a whole 8 mana for a 2/4 and lose a lot of tempo.
i dont think people get the psychological trauma that is induced with doing something like avoiding the youtube statistics...in the grand scheme of things its probably for the best not to be so hyperfixated on them, butwhen youre there its impossible to escape...its like an addiction
to talk on slay the spire specifically, i watched all of roffles slay the spire videos and honestly i still barely understand the game, the classes don't really make that much sense and the keywords are kinda random.
i generally specifically liked the ones with mods that added new mechanics because then i didnt have to already know what they are lol

Having no class cards in your deck sounds incredibly boring. If that deck was good, you could play it in literally any class (probably Warlock or DH, depening on what the cards are) and would loose most of the class idetities.
highlander brann warior got so runied. its super weak now
Civ 6 and other 4x games seems to have some overlap with card game folks (and as a Civ addict I get it). They are great games for storytelling and ridiculous challenges BUT they are reallllly long to play and thus film. So there is that opportunity cost to consider for you.
I enjoy watching you, but the game is also important. For example, if you starting making league of legends content I would be bored to death even if I think your commentary is entertaining.

You already have 2 copies of Starstrung Bow that you can tutor with the new secret Bargain Bin. I tried runing Ignis, but it just gets too clunky, if you swing with both Starstrung Bows twice, that's 20 damage, if your opponent is still alive after all that, then Ignis won't help as much as you think it will.
you're a HS streamer right now. IMO, having watched other content creators, I think that you have to just power through the losses until you're recognized and grow a semi-new community as you become a variety streamer. Some will stay, some will go, others will come. If you don't want to be locked into one type of content, there is a difficult transition, but you can do it bro.
also though listening to you sook about your game streaming crisis the entire time you play is a huge turn off.
It is crazy to me that people think brann is still great/broken at 8 mana. He’s like meh-good in my experience with him since. He might be relevant again in future expansions but omg is he mid now
