Your engine bay badge that says "Bayerische Motoren Werke" is unique, at least for cars imported to the US. About 2 years ago I sent an email to BMW with the VIN of my 2002 and was told that it was delivered to Belgium direct from the factory. I later learned that it was a common practice at that time to export them to Belgium partly disassembled to skirt import taxes. I believe that style of badge may be unique to cars that were exported through Belgium. Happy 02ing!
This one was built in Portugal in a factory called Baptista Russo 😀 It's a great pride for us, portugueses!

Good job. A tip. ALWAYS start at the top and work down.
Thanks eheh 😀 But I remove the dirt from the bottom up first so that I can see if nothing has failed, the dirt I remove from the bottom does not accumulate in the other dirt , it may take a little longer but I prefer it this way. AFTER THAT i made the manual wash top to bottom 🙂

I also worked as a detailed for 6 years and we were always taught to start from the bottom and work up, then back down. You get a better visual of spots you’ve missed and it’s a good excuse to spend more time removing dirt without speeding through the initial wash. Time consuming yes, but it gives a better opportunity to pay more attention to detail. Which is what we are here to do right?
Bottom up to remove dirt, top down applying soap.
@@douglasb.1203 The inescapable fact (due to the laws of gravity) is that working bottom up washes more dirt onto the area you just cleaned. In no universe is this efficient or effective.. Those who say otherwise are simply fooling themselves

Yes, no rust eheh the body work was made a few years ago, but the owner died and the car was abandoned in the middle of restoration 😕 Thanks 😀

My sister once had a 1976 2002 it was in great condition when she sold it. I wish it was still in the family.

this 2002 was abandoned in the middle of the restoration after the death of the owner, so there is a lot of work done 🙂

What a beautifull car. In my country the BMW are known for having needs for often and expensive mechanical repairs. However I've always liked the 2002. I even tried to find one few years ago. On this perticular car probably the brakes need to be fixed some cosmetic details repaired, the front bumper needs fixing. Change the color to blue and dont change anything else the car is beautifull as a classic not as a hotrod or any ruined lowrider. Original is always the best. Dont turn it into anything else than the way it came out of the factory.
Thanks 😀 I love BMWs, i have others but this one is my first 02. I will keep the original color and make some modifications, but everything within the season and only a few things: double carburetors, rims (maybe compomotive or alpina) and that's it.😊😀

Use a biitum remove spray before you spray sampoo, to rinse all the bittum and dirt points, it will help you a lot, and the difference is huge. Keep up with your good work! Thumbs up!👍

Wasserstrahl in den Motorraum ist immer riskant, da kannste elektrische Leitungen mit schädigen, kriegste Kurzschluss oder Kriechströme und fördert Rost an Schrauben und Schlauchschellen. Würde Dir 'ne gute Werkstätte auch abraten von. Gibt eigene Pflegesprays für. Aber ist ja auch Deine Karre. 👍

I had a '75 2002, Jade Green. I think that was the best driving car I've ever had, and I have had some good ones. But one suggestion: in general when washing a car, start at the top! Gravity... Dirty water flows down, so starting at the bottom and then going up just washes the dirt down over what you just cleaned...
Great car for sure!! I simply remove the dirt bottom to top, i prefer this method, and the manual wash top to bottom 🙂
I think a professional detailer knows how to wash a car... In general, you start pressure washing from the bottom up, that way the dislodged dirt has a smooth surface to flow down over, thus preventing the dirt from stacking up on the body panels.

O meu tem a receita da época... Webers.... Cabeça com menos 1mm , uma cam... Colectores de escape independentes 4 2 1, distribuidor electronico.... Suspenção com menos 30 mm eibach... Caixa de 5... E por fora levou uma toques.... Ficou bonito.

Nesta geração as abas turbo ficaria mal (atenção que tenho as grelhas da frente erradas), apenas as alpina casavam bem, a meu ver. Muito honestamente é por aí que deverei ir, a receita "correta" 🙂 A acrescentar a isso irei meter os casquilhos em poliuretano! Quanto aos coletores tenho um amigo que já me arranjou uns mas 4-1, que tem para lá encostados! Já agora, que webers estás a usar, 40 ou 45?
@@PuraCarsDetail tenho Webers 40 com Chokes de 32 que no meu entender casa bem com a cam shrick 292 que instalei.
Não cometas o erro de por tudo acima se é que me entendes... Dps o carro tem umas baixas sofríveis....
Acho que os 40 com Chokes de 32 fica bem e puxa bem até às 6500 sem problema. e tenho a combinação de giglers um bocado para o rico...mas prefiro assim.

"Detailing", it was just a wash before the car went to the bodywork and paint job 🙂 I'll restore it, i have the engine and the interior, they will appear in next videos 😁

It's got to have a good backstory
Very briefly: same owner since 1974, never restored until 2008/09, when the owner started a more in-depth restoration, but died in 2014. The car was stopped in the same workshop since the beginning of the restoration, only the bodywork and painting work was done.

Nice of him to post a video but this guy really does not know how to wash a car. He washed from bottom to top allowing dirt to settle back on the cleaned areas.
I know how to wash a car, in fact i do that all day 😉 i removed the dirt and the pre-wash foam bottom to top BUT the manual wash was made TOP TO BOTTOM, see again. There is some brands that defends this metod, there is others that defends all process top to buttom. I prefer the way i'm doing, and i can assure anyone that the car is properly cleaned 🙂
yep. then opened up the hood, and washed the inside, getting more dirty wash water over the bodywork that had just been washed. Never mind, doesn't matter all that much, but maybe could save a bit of water and trouble by doing it in an alternate order. So satisfying to see a car like that come clean, though.
And now he's standing around for the next 10 years ?
I hope to be able to restore the car by the end of 2021 🙂

You don´t use a oil sparator? Here in Germany it´s not allowed and is expensive, if you do. All cleaning products and oil are going into the ground an in the water.... It´s not good for environment. :(

This was very painful to watch how this car was washed even though you could tell it needs some tlc on the body. you should of started off doing a soft wash pre wash cleaner and no more then a hose pipe before hitting it with a jet wash.
