I suggest using auto turn off and turn on feature. Just set time while you are not using your phone like between 2 am and 3 am and you might never have to reboot your phone. From when I am using this feature I have never have faced hanging problems, and the phone is way too responsive, comparing to when I don't use to use this feature.

It is not a waste of time to close apps running in the background. Often enough it helps with getting rid of issues with them. The RUclips App is a great example for this. Is always messes up, if you take „too much time“ to write a comment. Also closing those apps every once in a while actually would follow the same logic as restarting the phone on a regular basis.
Fast chargers don’t help anyways. Not by much anyways. Also, the iPhone has implemented a feature to read our common charge times, especially at night time. And it does actually pause the charging so it finishes around when you get up in the morning. This means they go even further when it comes to not overdo the charging. So yea I see your point.
I am restarting my smartphone roughly once a week and since I started doing it, I definitely noticed a decrease in messed up behavior. So I really approve in this advice. But I’d go even further: Close the apps before doing it, so there are no temporary and maybe even messed up settings stored on the flash memory while rebooting the phone. I’d recommend this procedure (closing apps and restarting the phone) before doing Updates of the system software.

  • @roadhouseguy
    @roadhouseguy 4 года назад +1

According to Apple engineers, don’t swipe to close the app.
You waste more battery by ramping up cpu cycles to restart the app every time. Just leave it and let the operating system manage it.
You’re not saving mobile data either as their are still background agent services running triggering the app notification and timers for example.

For me, unwanted Android apps running in the background is a CPU hence **battery** issue, not a **memory** issue. Background apps are typically waiting for something. They may be waiting for an online connection to a social media site, or to sync devices, or they could be simply anticipating some non-critical user action. Worse, they could be constantly trying to ping the phone manufacturer's servers to intrusively glean as much private info as possible about the user's habits and his/hers media collection ...hint hint... Xiaomi's disgusting MIUI Android version. Ask me how I know that.🙄😕😭
Yep, all background processes tend to gobble up copious CPU cycles, which clearly tends to run down the battery faster. This is why I disable unwanted background apps as much as possible... especially MIUI apps!

    Two more items:
    1) If you go for a battery replacement, find out the date that the new battery was manufactured. You do not want your new battery to be more than 6 months old. New batteries go bad, even when never used.
    2) When taking photos or videos, please use landscape (not portrait, unless you have a good reason for using portrait).
Your computer screen, your TV screen, and basically all screens are designed for landscape. Force yourself to hold the phone accordingly when taking photos and videos, and stop uploading videos to youtube that are vertical when yours and everyone's computer screen is horizontal. And please stop adding music over the sound of your videos, when you post them on youtube.
    Cheers!

    1. The memory advice is wrong. iOS and Android don't page out app to disk. Rather, there are a few mechanisms at play. First, if memory is getting low, the OS signals apps that it is running out of memory. This allows the apps to clear up cache or other data so they don't have to get suspended. If there still isn't enough memory, then both Android and iOS can compress the least used pages in memory. Finally, if that does not work, then it will have to suspend and kill the least accessed app that is running. The reason apps launch to where they are is because the apps were designed in an era where they must pick up where they left off but that is part of the app's designed and the app still is launched. (Though, just because an app is killed does not mean the code is not in memory. Just that, all of the app's data that is not part of the app executable can be removed so apps don't have to entirely be loaded again, just that they have to run from scratch) There is no paging like in desktop OSes.
    2. The reason you can use up to 96W charger is that the charger and the phone negotiates. So, using a 96W charger won't make it magically charge faster. The phone is still only capable of up to 22W Quick Charging.

So with my current phone I will if I'm out in public using my portable battery, or I woke up and my phone was at 30 percent then I will use the charger, also I avoid taking my phone above 80 all the time only doing so if I know I will be needing all the battery cause I won't be around a charger, though I do carry my portable pack literally everywhere I am around

It means you have a 32bit version of your operation system. This ancient relic only can address 3GB.
If your system is 64bit capable though you can install a 64bit OS version and use all 4GB.

On the contrary sometimes I have to use the recent apps button to close an app in order to reset the app because opening it from memory isn't showing me the new information properly. I noticed the Google play store didn't always show me the latest updates until I closed the Google plate app and relaunched it to check for updates and then it shows me the new updates. Sometimes it's finicky

Th reason why most don't use fast charging is because lol. MANUFACTURERS.
Go to an Apple Store or any official company repair store, say you have a battery issue.
The first question they will most probably ask is: " Did you ever use any charger apart from the one in the box?"
Making it seem like even the touch of those chargers will kill the phone

I never update preinstalled apps that I never use. For some odd reason my phone only acts up about a day or 2 before a big phone update is about to come through and once the update comes through and is finished updating my phone then acts normal again. I've just never understood why it does this?

Is charging the phone till 85% and re-charging at 35 or 30% ? And is 40°C too hot for charging, and should I use a freezing pad ( or cooler ) to cool it to 30°C so it won't degrade Quick ?
