Welcome back to the Foxhole and now going back to Metal Galaxy era.🦊🤘🌅
Just so you know the title of this song is "Brand New Day", not a "A New Day" like you wrote on the title. And no, this wasn't the intro song for the live show, usually the intro is "Babymetal Death", i suggest the live at Legend 1997 if you didn't already.
Btw bummer about the bad weather at Download just when the girls were performing and had to suspend part of the show, hopefully next time this won't happen again, it is known they played even under heavy rain with risky wet floors at Download 2016.
Metal Galaxy is a wonderful album and full of surprises, you're gonna find many more like this with more mature sound, it came out in 2019 so isn't so new but is one of the songs with more mature sound.
The album version got the collaboration of Polyphia guitarists, Tim Henson (short hair on the right) and Scott LePage (long hair on the left), and it's quite clear in the solo section. Polyphia got a viral clip when they were performing live and having an issue with the drummer IEM not working and a roadie helped him out in an unorthodox way to save the show, very funny clip.
Their songs are mainly instrumental but i think they got some collabs with famous singers but don't quote that on me, what is for sure they got mad skills playing instruments.
Tim Henson also said when listening to this song that he would love to play this along with BabyMetal on the stage, he didn't know the final cut when he was doing the riffs on this song.
The dance on this song is beautiful and graceful, they're showing another mature side and more complicated choreography. According to MoaMetal is the hardest song to dance along with BxMxC and Night Night Burn iirc.
Song is inspired by certain "City Pop" band and Utada Hikaru songs, when SuMetal heard this she doubt about this being a metal song but then the guitars solo were added and all make senses suddenly.
Finally we got them together on stage and with this awesome live performance, it is their first time performing together.
They did it again last week at Graspop Festival in Belgium and they hug each other at the end just like in this version only thing it was cut out, there's also a proshot clip but I'm not so sure about the sound mix.
Along with RATATATA this was definitely one of the highlights at FOX_FEST and a lot of Japanese fans were looking for, I guess that cool slow pace city pop element gives some nostalgia and that's why many fans love it.
In a recent interview, Tim and Scott talked about a new song in their upcoming album along with BM, let's see what they got but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be something real good like this one.
Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

I don't know if it's because I haven't really seen a live video of the full choreo before this, or they've just improved their dancing skills so much, but this may be some of my favorite dancing. Extremely elegant.

Looks like you have small mistake in your title. It's Brand New Day not A New Day:D

It must be quite difficult to dance and sing choreography with live METAL music, but these girls dance lightly and sing beautifully😊and they look like they are simply playing guitar, but the sound they are making is very technical...... 😳This collaborative live performance is going well, but ...... Something very miraculous is happening. My ears are happy 🌈😊.

Good reaction. 'Brand New Day' is almost 5 years old. It was on BABYMETAL's Metal Galaxy album released in 2019. It is certainly one of BABYMETAL's more 'chill' songs ... but as you are finding, they do everything.
That's one reason their collaborations all work so well as they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with.
Tim Henson and Scott le Page provided and recorded the guitar tracks for the original recording of the song, so when Polyphia was confirmed on the bill for Fox_Fest (arranged, hosted and headlined by BABYMETAL in Tokyo) we all had a good idea of what would happen.🎸🎸
Fox_Fest was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally do this very first live performance with them all together.
Polyphia had already played their set earlier in the evening, so the crowd knew who Scott and Tim were when they came back for this song.
They did it together again at Graspop Festival in Belgium since this, I'm not sure if they've had the chance anywhere else yet.
Listen through again by yourselves without pausing, you will up your scores.🦊

We have yet to find a style of music Babymetal can't mix well with haha. I absolutely love this song. Polyphia is from my home state of Texas! Absolute badasses also.

    Greetings, friends.
They are the Goddesses, another level!! Suzuka's voice reaches wonderful heights, it is the best female group in the world, without comparison.
    Quality, friendliness, originality, heavy, electronic...impressive.

Great reaction! I think you guys lacked context on why this song sounded toned down than usual for a BABYMETAL song. This is a song from their 2019 Metal Galaxy Album and their intention was to depict their "musical journey" for the past years which incorporated different sounds and styles from around the world. BABYMETAL's producer is a Polyphia fan and asked to feature them to one of their songs so they sent a track with Su Metal's synth voice lines with initial guitar sounds and so Tim Henson and Scott LePage recorded their guitar parts that's more of a Polyphia style playing and sent it back to them and the rest is history! And this live performance together is their first ever.
I suggest you listen to their song G.O.A.T. (Official Music Video) which has trap beats, EDM style playing, but all done with live instruments. If you want mostly EDM style you can try GOOSE (Official Music Video), LIT (Official Music Video). Then if you want you face melted with their guitar playing you can try Playing God (Official Music Video) and Ego Death (Official Music Video).
Polyphia is mostly a instrumental Progressive Rock band with just recently featuring vocals on some of their songs on their last 2 albums so this collaboration blew a lot of polyphia's fans minds coz this what might Polyphia sound if they had a full time vocalist on their line up.

    👍 👍
Easily one of my favorite BABYMETAL songs.
Yes Tim and Scott's instrumentals are a driving force here but for me it is Suzuka's stunning vocal performance and Moa and Momo's beautiful backing vocals that seal it.
Suzuka once again proves that (in my opinion) she is the most versatile and talented female singer today. She just loves to sing and it shows.

    ⚡ 🍑 💕 / 🌅
    Asu ga mata kuru kara.
(Tomorrow will come, after all) -
This was at FOX_FEST, an event that BABYMETAL hosted in Japan over two nights at Saitama Super Arena (SSA).
Polyphia had already peformed their own set earlier that night.
They came back on stage during BABYMETAL's set to perform this song.
That's why the audience reacted how they did.
The song was included on the Metal Galaxy (2019) album, but this was the first time BABYMETAL performed it with Scott and Tim, who did guitar tracks for the album version.
It was the fifth song in BABYMETAL's set,
For their eighth song, BABYMETAL were joined by Kevin and Nico from Electric Callboy for the world premiere of 'RATATATA'. : )

Great reaction fellas! This song is a vibe and a half, and a pure injection of happiness to my soul.
Tim and Scott from Polyphia, a highly technical instrumental band from Texas. These guys do a lot of “Blues-y/R&B/groovy” type music with very technical guitar playing.
Great band! Check out “Playing God” and “Ego Death ft. Steve Vai”
    🤘🦊

This was filmed at FOX_FEST and although the song is five years old, this was the first time they have ever played live together, so it was a pretty special occasion. Polyphia are pretty well known in the metal scene. Tim and Scott are known as two of the very best guitarists in the business.
Tim revealed at Download that there is another Babymetal/Polyphia collab in the works, only this time Babymetal will be guesting on a Polyphia track.

The song is now unbelievably five years old and Babymetal have only now the chance to play with the Polyphia front men. They had a run at Prog metal (Tales of the Destinies on) before getting down to the different genre Collabs that are the mainstay of Metal Galaxy

    Nice one, thanks!
"BND" is chill and far away from my personal preferences musically. BUT I experienced it in a big format solo show in Japan and I totally LOVE and enjoy the light show and the choreo (huge enthusiast of light and laser shows here). Not to mention that a chill song is really appreciated in the middle of a 15-song high energy set. 😜

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this artistic play at the venue (2 times in the two-day Fox_Fest). What a bliss!! Soothing and exquisite performance by 5 elegant figures in the center 😍. Classy incorporation by our Kami Band on both sides (4 guitars in total) ❤ Various elements created by 3 beautiful performers and 6 instrumentalists with virtuosity were mixed and sublimed into one beauty by means of something like alchemy. The actual applause at the end of the song was much much much bigger than that recorded in this video.
They did it together again in Belgian festival on June 20.

They did a really good job but I'm not even really sure why those guys are on stage - rolling up in tee-shirts they may as well be standing back with the rest of the band for all the difference they make to me - would it have been that hard to make a bit of an effort to try and look a bit cool (they KNOW this is a "show") or is this artistic integrity? In terms of presentation easily my least fav collab even though their playing is great. One thing I loved about BM is they're not a group that just stands there and plays/sings. Any reaction to BM is good though :) 😁. I'll go get my tin hat now.
