I wonder if the C#5 was easier for her in ABMB rather than MIH due to the difference in vowel pronunciation? like in MIH it was goOHAAOW and in ABMB it was BUHOY. idk if it makes sense, im not an expert lol
You're right, it's easier, MIH is supposed to be sung in a very powerful and open way and Mariah is indeed struggling with open vowels cause of massive rasp risks, if you noticed, her mouth is almost always quite shut and barely moves, that's cause she wants to avoid that issues, hence very little room for the sound, but at the same time it minimizes the rasp so it's a decent solution (well, not actually, but it works)
This is time she should have been studio if I was her manger I would told her Mariah your voice is in good condition Let’s focus on material that’s worth it and focus smaller tour dates throughout the year
OMG, vocal showcases of Mariah's live singing once again! This is incredibly nostalgic, reminds me of times when I became a fan. Please, if you accept offers, do it for something greater, like SSFT, I know there're some showcases of it, but it was so great, almost like Charmbracelet, and not all things are properly showcased, would be great to see its recognition!

@@lightning0506 nah nothing bad was intended from my end. The worst thing is I think her voice is still as good as this if not better. But it's serverly out of practice and with the lipped concerts now she won't be warming up. And I don't want to speculate but with the news we got last night I think her sister and mother's illnesses have most likely amplified themselves on top of her breakup with Bryan and that's why we've had this Mariah since last October. At the end of the day with all this stuff happening at the same time no wonder she isn't singing probably cause she doesn't want too and doesn't have the capacity too

I kinda miss love hangover/heartbreaker remix ngl😭😭😭 the mashup of honey and heartbreaker is getting a bit old. I want the orginals back even if it’s shortened or something.
A decent show I personally think night 1 was better. But I looked at a vocal showcases comments from the time and they thought it was a massive improvement. I would say that her voice was definitely more consistent than last. Hero was not her best on night 1 but I think night 1 is still on top for me
This whole residency sounded better than whatever I can remember from the era. The tone was very light and she did so somewhat comfortably. However, I still do hope rested during that time period and allowed herself to experiment just a bit earlier. I just don't think this era's signature staccatos were sustainable. I always feared she was pushing her voice by manipulating her glottal movement too much. I mean this wasn't very present just 2 years prior and I think this really just had to do with where she was vocally, but it ended up having a battle with where she was mentally and her will to perform (I mean, Caution was still new,. Of course, she'd go and make the effort of making promotions here and there)
