Her tone in 1999/2001 was the best she ever had. It was immaculate : sweet/ smokey/ full of emotions and extremely well controled. Everything she sang at that time had more meaning than any other moment in her career. I dont know why but I always felt like her 'rainbow era tone' was the way she was singing like as a little girl....

Btw, the rainbow tone will always be my favorite of hers. It's buttery, extremely girly and pleasant to the ears. The rasp is there but you can only hear it on the sweet spots. The fluidity of her runs especially in this song ia daydream-esque. Aside from that, this is really the start of her beauty peak. I mean she's a beautiful woman from the very start, but the Rainbow and Glitter eras, she looks like Hollywood's ultimate IT GIRL.
