This game had the best roster of the Mario Karts. But instead of Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, and Mii Outfit B, they should have had Shy Guy, Magikoopa (or Kamek), and Hammer Bro. Also, Blooper would have been funny. (He was in Mario Party 8 along with Hammer Bro.)

When I was 12, it took me 6 days to unlock all of the characters and vehicles in this game, but the hardest to unlock out of all of the characters was Rosalina. I could’ve just played all of the mirror tracks and scored at least one star in all of them, but when we got Super Mario Galaxy, we unlocked her in a blink of an eye! I was thrilled after that. I will always get nostalgia from this game

The expert staff ghosts are unlocked once you have beaten a certain time. To see the required times, you can check them at the Super Mario Wiki. When you scroll all the way down to "Expert Staff Ghosts", there is a chart showing all information about the staff ghost, including name, time, and unlock time.

'Wheelies' are performed by quickly flicking the wii wheel or controller up, if done right, you'll do the trick and gain increased speed and acceleration
I've unlocked everything as well and I can personally say that this game's roster is perfect. I'm just wondering why they cut Birdo, Dry Bones, Petey Piranha, R.O.B., King Boo, Diddy Kong and Bowser Jr. from future games. I mean, WHY IN THE FLIPPING HELL would they cut Bowser Jr. when ALL SEVEN Koopalings were in Mario Kart 8?! Well, I'm just glad Bowser Jr. made it into Smash Bros. though, but it still felt awkward having the Koopalings in both Kart and Smash and Bowser Jr. only in Smash, but not Kart. Mudkip Playz I used Toadette with the Magikruiser for the Shy Guy Beach Time Trials and it did wonders for me, kudos to whoever recommended that combination for the hardest time trial in the game next to SNES Ghost Valley 2! ^_^

don't worry, it's not dumb, rankings are determined by placement and falling, think of it as beginning with 3 stars, each place you fall behind in from 1st in a race is minus one rank, each time you fall off a course is also minus one, off-roading an getting owned by dodgeable items can count against it as well, blue-shells, red shells, and lighting do NOT go against you, if anything, just race well and use your items as wisely as possible and the 3 star rank is yours :)

try using the bikes like the mach bike for medium or bowser bike for large, as they have high top speed and drift abilities. if you have daisy or funky kong, use them as they are (for no apparent but useful reason) slightly faster than the others hope it helps
