Allen had over 500 yards of offense, but had 2 early turnovers that were costly and the coaching staff couldn’t make adjustments against the SLC defensive line when it mattered…resulting in the Allen QB scrambling for his life.
For everybody wondering why all the players for SLC have blonde hair it's called Dodge Ball. A tradition started by the then coach Todd Dodge now coach at Westlake in the early 2000's the entire team would blonde bleach their hair for the playoffs. His son Riley is now the coach for SLC so the tradition continues. Fun Fact Father and Son met in the Texas state championship last year...
It’s crazy how SLC competes every year, yet they only have Like three or 4 people to make it to the league. Those people are Qb’s and a couple of centers. Lil Jordan is like the only skill player to make it. Just goes to show that coaching and discipline beats talent and athleticism.

The coaching staff is BRAND NEW. I played at Allen and not a single coach from when I was there or even when Kyler was there remains. New HC, new DC, new OC, different strength and conditioning coach. Allen had virtually the same coaching staff for 20+ years save for a few changes here and there. This staff doesn’t have the hard hitting 4quarters style that the old squads did.
They ran into a better team during a transition year. For any other team in the league, Allen wins, usually. Allen is a good team but not a state champion team.
