I was surprised to learn this, I’m from south Texas, Bruni is a tiny school that’s never won more than a district championship in any sport. Transferring from there to D’Ville would be like going from D’Ville to the Dallas Cowboys, no lie. Not to mention Bruni and D’Ville are 6 hours apart. Transferring that many times over that distance and not having to sit out a year, I would bet money his dad is a coach and was changing jobs. That’s the only explanation.

Forged by fire. It definitely pays to play a tough preseason schedule. You might lose a few but then you'll be battle tested come playoff time. No team in TX will be the combo of athleticism and coaching that MD was. Definitely buying D'Ville right now!

Most kids that go to Mater Dei are not from the Santa Ana area, the demographics of MD and the demographics of the area don't match.

First off, Go Duncanville. Second, how can you dislike Duncanville? The only Texas team with Balls of Steel will play anyone. The rest of them hide in their cocoon and claim they are the best without ever playing anyone of the top 25 teams to prove it. Hell, they hardly play each other until late in the playoffs when they have to. (Top teams in Texas). Duncanville against all Texas conventions and hate says bunk that. They will play anyone under Reginal Samples. Look at the improvement they have made. Duncanville wins against Westlake in my opinion 21 to 24. This Duncanville team is better than NorthShore of last year. Northshore only lost by a field goal to Westlake, also some bad calls.
It'd be interesting to see a match-up between Duncanville and C.E. King at some point. The latter actually gave North Shore and Katy a tough time on the field, despite losing by 17 points to them respectively.
Mater Dei's best DB is a 3 star kid named Cam Sidney whose commited to Cal. Their 2nd best DB is a kid name Josh Hunter who is 5'8 170 pounds playing for San Diego state (both played at MD for four years). I think their linebacker Mantiek Teo is 2 stars and only has 3 offers, most of D'ville's players have more offers than him and he was all over Duncanville. Sione Moa is a MD captain starting DT and he has zero offers. Mater Dei is not the boogieman you guys are portraying them to be. Duncanville was way bigger than MD but those little red guys dominated them in the trenches with their strength. Coaching, culture, strength program is a big big factor. Mater Dei is nothing like those IMG recruiting schools with 5 Star DB kids all 6'4 220lbs commited to Alabama or LSU. They are kind of like Allen was back in those 2013 days. I think Westlake could definitely give them a game but they declined MD. MD had trouble finding games this season

Pretty big mismatch there especially when you have the best QB in the nation in the backfield as well. Their 2nd best DB is a kid name Josh Hunter who is 5'8 170 pounds playing for San Diego state (both played at MD for four years). I think their linebacker Mantiek Teo is 2 stars and only has 3 offers, most of D'ville's players have more offers than him and he was all over Duncanville. Sione Moa is a MD captain starting DT and he has zero offers. Mater Dei is not the boogieman you guys are portraying them to be. Duncanville was way bigger than MD but those little red guys dominated them in the trenches with their strength. Coaching, culture, strength program is a big big factor. Mater Dei is nothing like those IMG recruiting schools with 5 Star DB kids all 6'4 220lbs commited to Alabama or LSU. They are kind of like Allen was back in those 2013 days. I think Westlake could definitely give them a game but they declined MD. MD had trouble finding games this season

Pretty big mismatch there especially when you have the best QB in the nation in the backfield as well.
