Baylen has been dominating Standard Brawl, too, from what I've seen. There's a lot of efficient tokens in naya, right now, even without counting the Bloomburrow bunnies. There's actually so many options available that you can take the deck in multiple directions: planeswalkers, Monastery Mentor + noncreatures, or Selvala Eager Trailblazer + creatures. Not to mention, Mondrak, Ojer Taq, and Moonshaker Cavalry are all standard-legal. I've played the deck a few times, and mirror matches are surprisingly common. Instant speed stuff is really strong in this deck, since the tapping abilities work so well with creature tokens at instant speed: you can leave up blockers for defense or mana, depending on the situation, and then cash them out for card draw if you don't need blockers or mana. Protection spells like Dawn's Truce, Surge of Salvation, or Royal Treatment is especially strong.
The funny thing about playing Baylen in (either format) of Brawl on Arena is that it's almost as annoying to play as it is to play against, sometimes. There is so much manual tapping required that I have ran out of my timer multiple times while simply trying to play my turn. Trying to do it as fast as possible barely helps.
@@MelficeN7 Here's the one I've been using most recently. It's the "creature-focused" one that uses Selvala and Oltec Matterweaver. It does pretty good in most matchups, if you know how to pilot it, but it struggles against control, and you need to make sure you mulligan for certain cards against certain decks. Also, it's missing a few cards that would probably be good additions, like Moonshaker Cavalry, since I just don't have it yet. It's probably not as good as the non-creature version, but it's also not bad. Both of these are pretty unique to my particular playstyle, so I'd probably reccomend adjusting the deck to fit you, before trying to craft any cards in it. The creature-focused one could probably use some more single-target removal, like Disenchant, Gleeful Demolition, Not on My watch, Ossification, or Destroy Evil, or other cheap protection spells like Gaea's Gift or Loran's Escape, but I didn't put them in my creature-focused deck because they're not creatures. at 6:00, i think they changed how running out your clock works because before i think it would freeze again in the next phase, then force them to concede if their rope ran out again, but now it passes priority all the way through your turn
With that Snakeman deck, I had so many times where I'm angry with how someone plays knowing full well I have decks like that too... Thing that would piss me off the most though is how long he took to do anything.
I still maintain that tutors in general go against the entire spirit of Commander. And I guess that applies to Brawl much less so, but I still dislike it. The entire premise of a 100-card singleton format is to make every game different. When all you do is tutor the same 3 card combo every game, it stops being Commander.
52:01 no judgement- you’re only human man. I’ve been far more salty than that - it’s just a game at the end of the day, but we all feel invested in it and can lead to being a bit sour when things don’t go to plan
CGB: Chooses to waste 3 minutes making 70 squirrel tokens and applying 70 counters with his 2 card infinite combo. Also CGB: How dare they rope me, this is absurd, such a waste of time.
"Guys check out my sick combo deck!" >Only runs scurry oak combos >Has Teshar and no combo pieces Idk man, i was just expecting more than 1 combo in your sick nasty combo deck
How boring are the 60 card decks, everything predictable, the same decks...that's why the only truly challenging formats are brawl and physical Commander...60 cards all x4 copies is too simple and repetitive
Oh I had no idea these were brawl videos, I was skipping them thinking they were just you talking about actual paper commander (the thumbnail was also misleading)
After that long game where you lost, I would try to just take it on the chin. You were running a broken combo deck and got outplayed - congrats to snakeman. I like the content, but the sore loser vibes aren't so cool. Started following a couple months ago, and just wanted to share constructive feedback. It's okay to be salty, tilt is part of the game. But the dude didn't suck because he played against you.
lol my mic sounds weird because it got turned backwards and I couldn't tell because I put a new cover on it :D
My favorite part was when you put a counter on Basking Broodscale
😂
this is basically a rosie cotton combo deck that happens to have a rabbit somewhere next to it

Do you have any deck list for standard brawl? I have been brewing one for some time but can't decide on which cards to pick.

I often find the salt difficult to watch, but that Glarb was absolutely disgusting and your salt levels are fully justified there
Saying I faked missing my second land was crazy. I was fighting for my life to get more lands 😅

Curse you Baylen!
I hereby vow! You will rue this day!
Behold, a true rabbit warrior!
@@dracosfire7247 and CGB, your fears made flesh!
I'll say I found it hilarious how you, of all people, got salty when facing that control Glarb deck :P
Oh midnight CGB, what is thy wisdom?
"Combo the Mythweaver player. They deserve it."
So many counters, if it was someone other than a niv-mizzet player id feel bad for them.
infinite combo goes infinite turn 4
I want to see you make this into an actual commander deck
I still maintain that tutors in general go against the entire spirit of Commander. And I guess that applies to Brawl much less so, but I still dislike it. The entire premise of a 100-card singleton format is to make every game different. When all you do is tutor the same 3 card combo every game, it stops being Commander.
LOVE this deck. Just simply love it. You have so many of my favorite cards in it
Love these late night videos! ❤
52:01 no judgement- you’re only human man. I’ve been far more salty than that - it’s just a game at the end of the day, but we all feel invested in it and can lead to being a bit sour when things don’t go to plan
Especially tough for you as a content creator doing this SO much
a chromatic orrery would probably be a welcomed include for all the colorless mana
Im like halfway into the video and see no baylen being cast by CGB lol
Beautiful! I’ve lost the count of the games I won cause oppo did Stifle, Tale’s End or Disallow a fetches trigger.
My name is baylen, its been an exciting few months
CGB: Chooses to waste 3 minutes making 70 squirrel tokens and applying 70 counters with his 2 card infinite combo.
Also CGB: How dare they rope me, this is absurd, such a waste of time.
Helga and Ral look fun to pilot as well
Anyone else digging the song in 2x speed during the combo?
I'm hearing We Will Rock You. Anyone else?
Does he not play his commander?
Baylen is more of a "play this when your board is ready" not one you just throw out because you have the mana
Glarb playin around the tithe
"You can always fast forward through this part" What do you mean? I watch every video on 2x speed already
Yeah extra CGB!
First game saw the combo before it happened plays commander and still salt ropes lol
I really wish they wouldve made him just green and white. I love tokens but cant justify adding red into my deck lol
A discard deck! Someone said only the worst people play those!!
CovertGoChill time!
"Guys check out my sick combo deck!"
>Only runs scurry oak combos
>Has Teshar and no combo pieces
Idk man, i was just expecting more than 1 combo in your sick nasty combo deck
Eldrazi Spawn ASMR video
How many times was Baylen actually cast this video? Lol
Is audio off or just me? Just sounds strange
People that rope out a loss are sad angry individuals
So pit this vid on as backround and research as I play....first match, this deck.
Wat sup cgb thanks for being fun
How boring are the 60 card decks, everything predictable, the same decks...that's why the only truly challenging formats are brawl and physical Commander...60 cards all x4 copies is too simple and repetitive
these players seem to be really bad lol. ive had my fair share of bullying noobs with combo decks but it gets old pretty quick
I want to see you against more people like snakeman. Enjoy seeing you paired up poorly. 😅
Nice! ;)
Top 10
Oh I had no idea these were brawl videos, I was skipping them thinking they were just you talking about actual paper commander (the thumbnail was also misleading)
So you're meaning to tell me that you've skipped every single historic brawl video because you thought they were just podcasts?..
!
Oh dear i hate arena so much. The background music is enough to not try ever
You can mute it in the settings.

Then there is the member only... I am not cool rolling with low effort content. Audio is full on insult. Do good not even better.
Comments for your mom!
What a boring format
