If you know the cards names you know what he meant, I literally have only been playing magic for like maybe a total of 2 weeks and even I understand what he meant.

Fair play to the players that let you play it all out but theres no way id be sitting through all that solitaire. What is wotc doing with these cards man.
WOTC is in a greedy race to the bottom... against themselves.
It's obvious Hasbro is forcing them to spam more sets than there is organic market demand for. They've exhausted the demand for Secret Lair and special edition cards, decks, collector edition packs and foils etc. They've raised prices (the last thing you want to do when demand is drying up, but again obviously Hasbro has ordered them to maximize revenue short term regardless of the long term damage to the brand and business).
The only lever/knob WOTC has left to yank on is power creeping themselves. The era of MTG fans trying to buy and collect (nevermind trade!) cards complete sets is over. It's impossible and unfun now. WOTCs is left with only two businesses:
#1 slowly proxying their own restricted list over time while waiting for the 90s collectors to literally die ie stop complaining about reprints destroying collection value.
#2 quickly power creeping new sets, especially the Universes Beyond IP to stimulate buying demand artificially.
i dont know how long youve been playing magic... they have never known what the hell theyre doing, if you paid attention you'd have noticed that when magic was at its best it was more of a happy coincidence than them doing their jobs properly
@@irtnyc The Monty Python secret lair sold out immediately and I doubt Flubs is going to function well outside of Commander which is a wild west format anyway.

The issue with flubs is not the power level or anything, it's just boring to sit at the table against it.
It's very obvious that the paper format has been abandoned. Which should come as no surprise to anyone in 2024.

My favorite part of Flubs is when he says "It's FLUBBIN' TIME" and then he Flubs all over the place.
That first fight (can't watch the rest yet, due to work!) I am just impressed that guy stayed and watched you make it pop off, that was great to watch!
Flubs recognizes Flubs
I recently ran a Flubs deck with my commander group thinking it'd be funny little frog landfall deck...and then it exploded on them just like this. Glad to see others appreciating it.
10:45 You could have used Depart the Realm to bounce Springheart Nantuko to your hand, then bestowed it on Lotus Cobra from there to gain the limitless mana you were after!

one really fun thing about flubs its that it benefits u for mulligan aggresively, specially if u need to start flubing fast
Small thing, when we have song of creation and flubs on board, I’m pretty sure you can stack it so that the flubs trigger resolves first and then the song, so you wouldn’t have to discard
I’m loving this CGB format, just playing games and tuning a deck in brawl.
A strong way to avoid decking out is to have two or more Oracle of the Alpha ETB triggers to get some Timetwisters and Timewalks. Saiba Siphoner could also be nice in this package and Timeless Witness.
Is Thassa's Oracle Brawl legal? Nice alt wincon if so.
Fortunately not.

@theplace-hk6rs I could see it, but honestly, I would prefer Oracle of the Alpha and Time Twister the grave back into the library so the deck-out situation will not occur at all. Five mana is kind of asking for much. I think Displacer Kitten could be cool to get even more Oracle ETB and targets for stuff like Nadu.
Thassa’s oracle is legal in brawl, as is Jace, wielder of mysteries

In my flubs build i went hard on the artifact route with all the cheapest random things to play and tons of cost reducers, but i really like the way youve built yours as well.

flubs secret is plot, foretell, madness, hellbent, flashback, and escape. just drop good cards in the colors with those keywords and the deck plays itself. hitting mizzix master for 19 spells on turn 4 is always a treat.

That game against Ulalek though. Opponent was tapped out and CGB had an extra turn. Hundreds of Scutes instead of just passing and attacking, impressed that your opponent stayed.
I put some storm cards in my deck and it does wonder as a game ender. The medallions are also in brawl now so those are auto includes
I play fair _Laelia_ , and _Ruby Medallion_ with _Birgi_ and _Runaway Steamkin_ does some pretty devastating stuff.
I feel like this video should be called "How to take as long of a turn as possible without activating the timer." Impressive though. I guess I was expecting a quicker win con after the exile absurdity started.

Wanted to build around Flubs as well as soon as I saw him. A great card in it for me is Living Twister. You can manage your hand cards early game to abuse Flubs better ad not get stucked and it's a decent finisher late game.
I think the worst part Nadu is that he's going to be used as clickbait for the rest of time.
Was watching Command Zone and when they went over flubs, I was like "oh yeah, this is it. This is the one I'm going to do the cEDH brew for"
I think something like Hazardous Blast could be a good finisher in this deck or really anything that says "creatures your opponents control can't block this turn". Great vid ❤
The way I see magic players loving Flubs is how I see Lazlo loving his witch hat
built Flubs in arena last night becuase i got the free promo at pre-release and after i set up the board i exiled through my deck in two turns only to lose to drawing from an empty deck lol. it was amazing
was gonna try to run this deck with my friend group but there's no way I wouldn't get kicked out for it. Do you think this card is gonna get banned from commander or other formats? seems similarly broken to Nadu.
Strike it Rich was in graveyard because you played a land after drawing it.
intrigued by the potential the first flubs portrayed, loved the potential you harnessed from flubs in this vid. MUST see how you would flub on the worst possible commander show
FLubs is such a fun commander. Pocket storm but without any of the predictability. Frequently go 70+ cards deep in the deck.
Run omniscience and shifting woodland. Basically guarentees you can play your entire deck in one turn
This deck needs a free discard outlet to keep the awkward two card hands from hurting.

Flubs is powerful, but also the glassiest of cannons. Any removal when they trigger flubs and the value train stops dead.

Taking out the Graveyard land things is a good point not gonna lie I can see getting stuck atleast with the strategy your going for, I think I might keep them in my paper deck just because I kinda wanna slow down and play with discarding a bit more this deck seems really optimized for keeping the draw chain going without ever needing to discard and that is better to not include the Graveyard land things but I do think there is a version of this deck that also intentionally plays into the discard meaning Graveyard land recursion can actually give you a pretty good discard based engine, may be less optimal though.
Love the deck though I'm going something similar with main gameplay being land based and impulse draw but with a bit more intentional discard in the mix although you are definitely making me consider more Adventure cards
flubs likes mass land destruction and return land from graveyard makeing your opponent literally unhappy the entire game XD
The only MLD on Arena is _Fall of the Thran_ , or perhaps _Urza's Sylex_ to equalize against a ramp deck, so all in mono-White, unfortunately.
That's true. I play mainly physical so have more options, but that is a good point!

I put in [Struggle // Survive] in mine. Serves as slow removal and also 2 mana shuffle both graveyards 😁 although at the rate your deck exiles itself, that might not add much to a turn!
I do wonder, why doesn't Flub's draw trigger kill you with nothing in the library?
Exile replacement effect
If you have tormented prophet out, it replaces the draw with exiling from the top of your library, so you never try to draw from an empty library and die

CGB, did you consider Ashaya, Soul of the Wild as an include? It'll turn all your nontoken creatures into landfall triggers and turn a few dead drops into mana neutral plays and eventually into more mana advantage once you have enough Lotus Cobra style effects. If you did consider it and decided not to include it, I'm curious why. Is it too high costed, or are there other reasons it doesn't work out for Flubs?

How is he not running out of time? When i played an infinite deck, i ran into the problem of clicking like a madman to be able to draw a third of my deck, and it was mostly animation.

Can someone explain how cgb is able to play so many (what seems to be unlimited) lands per turn. I understand the flubs and azusa addition lands per turn but I feel like I'm missing something 😅
why no wrenn and seven? It can really get you going. searching for a land or dropping multiple land at the same time is very cool!
It's 5 mana, which needs to be game-changing in this deck, and works best with Graveyard synergies, which CGB removed.

I threw together a helga, skittish seer deck for brawl and it’s pretty fun. I think it will be better in commander though, most the decks I go against in brawl are removal tribal and you really need her to live for a while.
All of her primary colors have great 1-mana protection spells, so it sounds like a deck-building issue.
Those spells are in the deck, I just made this comment after a few games playing against removal heavy decks and I didn’t draw any protection spells. It happens sometimes 🤷🏼♂️
