Danjin HP consumption is not even a problem cuz the hardest enemies one shots u anyway so it does even change anything, her HP consumption is just annoying for exploration

this only applies to bosses, if you were to use danjin while fighting against multiple common enemies and elites, it is very likely you will catch a stray from an off-screen enemy and die from low damage

You know that dragon ball Z abridged gag where everyone was scaled based on how many Raditz's they were worth? Well that's me with Lingyang
Danjin feels like a fake 5 star character, especially with S5, cause the amount of damage she can output is insane. The fact that her skills have no cooldown make every other character feel "slow" by comparison with how fast she can chain her attacks left right and center. Give her a Sword#18 and most enemies will fall to pieces, even the Havoc resistant ones.
ehh, she needs high dupes to actually compete though. At s0 she does 16k output, while at s6 she does 22k output. Compare that to s2 Hrover at 24k output and there really isnt any point to using danjin. The constant low hp playstyle also wastes out on potential dmg due to being unable to facetank for a perfect rotation. Her full rotation is also pretty long and she takes quite a while to fill outro. She has far less value than Hrover in every metric, especially because Hrover can get to s6 at no cost.

@@rishuraspencer1262 The danjin s0 number was from a CN tierlist on bilibili. The s6 was me applying prywden's calcs on that number. And I have no clue where I got Hrover's numbers. It should be from another CN guide video for Hrover, but I cant seem to find it.
For reference, Encore is at 30k, Calcharo is at 23k, and Lingyang is at 20k according to the same CN tierlist.

LMAO I have read all the recent comments on your vid, defending chars like Taoqi and Yuanwu (no one defending him, just Taoqi) for being late-bloomer with DEF scaling mechanic, or Chixia or Yangyang for actually usable (Me included)
The thing is that, if you ask about meta - which (most of the time) stands for "Most Effective Tactic Available" in gaming, then yes those mentions above all fall short compared to their 5* counterpart, or it not available yet to achieve their pinnacle power.
You saw my profile, I stand proud as a Chongyun main since 1.0 of Genshin, but is he ever Meta? No. Can I use him? Yes absolutely. Will I recommend ppl to build him? Yea sure if you want to struggle like I did.
The thing is in games like this, it is still up to your skills to decide if said characters can beat the game or not, and to exert more willpower just to make 1 character match the same level as another one which does not cost much (except the pull u need for them) isn't going to define your loving character a "meta" character.
Dude don't forget that this game is mostly about player skill, and with my level of skill everybody is a hot garbage anyway

To be fair, on Prydwen theory discussions, people actually counted how much damage Alto does from s3-6 and he is actually pretty decent. I mean, the guy beats Chixia in terms of overall DPS and mv%.
(To maximize your dps as Alto, you pretty much want to set up a gate and spam air attacks)
Def scaling characters only start catching up lvl70+ below that their scaling makes them feel bad to use.

@@XgoSolo i mean i allways thought of lingyang as a unique case since he could allways be good under the right hands just no one chooses to learn him. same with danjin except there are people that use danjin main dps just not really anyone who prioritizes it since theres so many other characters you can use instead
and danjin is more fun because she kinda forces you to learn how to actualy play the game since if you get hit you explode essentialy so she makes it easier in the long run to learn all the timings

Is Yangyang really that bad? Her combos seem pretty smooth quick swaps and grouping
The only time ive enjoyed using Taoqi is in the IR game mode. She gets some insane buffs in there that makes her not only untouchable by constantly adding shields, but she's popping off her Lib at the end of her parry combo, so she can dish out insane damage. It's just sad that it's the only time she's fun to use.
FUCK tierlists, rankings, etc. i'm playing Chixia and Yangyang and i'll clear tower of advertity with them even if it costs my liver, heart, and whatever other valuable organs i have! I'm also hoping to lose the 50/50 on Jinhsi's banner to Lingyang because i like him more and Yangyang is a rate-up character on Jinhsi's banner.
i'm kind of tired from playing meta characters in HSR that's why i'll sacrifice efficiency for fun. I even got an S1 Jiyan while i was trying to get Chixia's dupes. I like early to mid game more because you can use whatever character you want, slap some shitty atk% echos, and they will work (probably) as opposed to the endgame (like, THE endgame. Union level 50-60+) where every sub-dps/dps needs to have 80/240 crit ratio to be usable outside of the open world.

finally finished my 5*s, so here i am🚶♂️
Myself doN't played him, but if I know correctly Yuanwu is a very good poise killer and you supposed play him more as a quic-swap dps and not as a pure on-fileder. I saw a lot of good hologram clears with Yinlin/Yuanqu combo as they well work together.
Taoqi is like this as well, you go in, do your things get a pretty good burst DPS and then dip to your other dps, most of the times this being Danjin who like the shield and the skill dps. I have her at S5 and I like them together a lot, though it is more a hologram/boss killing team, Danjin is torture in multy-enemy situation and Taoqi counters is more single target as well, though her Liberation have a very good AoE.
I doN't thin scaleing with deth is thet terrible either, you have base line higher DEF% weapens, you DEF on this characters are relevantly highr then the ATK on the ATK sclaers and all other buffs work on them, like Deepen or Electro/Havoc Damage bonus. Though I still waiting for a def buffer or a good 5* weapen thet will work well with Taoqi.

Yuanwu S6 buff DEF by 32% for characters who are in the vicinity of his skill. (Fair if you don't know, but if you make a video about them I think you should look up this stuff. It would make your vids more well rounded.)
Dauntless buff DEF% a LOT and much better for the character who use it then the ATK 4* damage weapens, but as I said before this is why I am waiting for a good 5* weapen for my Taoqi so we agree on this point more or less.

R6 isn't in the realm of possibility for most units so close to the launch of the game.
Still, I guess that's beyond the point since your failing to see the issue here.
The problem isn't the character or their kit, but the scaling attached to it. Defense buffs are far less plentiful than attack. This is true for Weapons, Character buffs, and to a lesser extend echos.
Building a character who scales on defense is going to be a far more restrictive process for lesser reward.
@@XgoSolo I see your point, absolutly, and it is a problem, for now, but you ignore the fact thet this characters on base line have much highr DEFs then the attack scalers ATKs, this means your less amount of DEF% buff is more valuble as it is a % buff and they less inpactad by not useing 5* weapens as well as the base attack doesn't really matter for them. This is why Dauntless and the DEF gauntlet are so good for both of them.
But I agree with you thet having a non-R6 buffer would be really usefull, but not as if we doN't have a lot of other type of buffs they can use though. Like Danjin's Havoc or Yinlin electro - liberation buff. We have plentifull damage bonus buffs in the game, though I would really like if we had a DEF or Deepen buffing Echo set, it would be a great help. Oh and they doN't miss too much ATK% buffs either, I mean, how much you have in a team? Healing set 15% and if you use Verina 20% so maximum 35%, but you don't use Verina always, because ylu need two team so if we assume Baizhi they only lose out on 15% from the healing set. Not a terrible amount and there's weapens are already giving them a chonky DEF% bonus as well.
And as I saw Yuanwu and Yinlin are pretty good duo and personally I like to play Taoqi and Danjin, but I agree thet if you want to only use the best units and want to get the highest value for your investment everyone should look for other units, but I doN't think Yuanwu or Taoqi as bad as people say they are from what I saw and experienced. (But important to say I have R5 Taoqi and both charatcer really like there's Rs a lot, especially Yuanwu without R3 don't really do off-field damage and for my favorite playstyle with Taoqi you really need R5 because the energy. Her Liberation is really important to her not to feel so anemic)
If you think about it, there some units i humbly ask you to shift their places (or not cuz maybe u wont read)
Yangyang - She offer a support role that currently we only have one: Crowd Control (the other one being Jianxin). You can ignore her dmg and build her as a tank, then slap on a heal set and Originite and she are good to go. Basically she is bootleg Jianxin, if you wanna say. Her role is a support could bump her up the list further than Chixia, because Chixia is on DPS role instead.
Yuanwu and Taoqi - to be real, their ranking rn is right, but on the long run, idk if there will be change in their rank or not. Being Scaled off DEF isnt great, when most Weapons and Echoes doesnt have Base addition like ATK scaling does. Their main source of DEF is from leveling and DEF% from main and substats on Echoes and only on DEF% substats on weapon, so early game they just really easy to fall short.
Danjin - If u ranked her on top for skills user, then Chixia would be shambling on Mortefi lmao, the risk is there on both of them, and Chixia advantage is that she not competing with Encore, she actually benefit from her. How you ask? Tower of Adversity can let u change your gear every single domain. So a built Encore sets can easily migrated to Chixia. Danjin being Havoc doesnt save her, because she want to use Havoc MC gear, but at the same time want to be in their team for double DPS. So either keep Chixia down there with Danjin on top 3 slots, or drag Chixia up over Mortefi.

I also rank Chixia a bit higher. She is a bit more niche cos she excels against not so agressive enemies that move a lot. She like msot 4 stars is quite const depended.
regarding her viabilty its actually opposite. the more gear you have the better she will fare. I have both Enource and Chixia on the same set. In explo Chixia is clear winner due to her kit. In ToA as soon as there is a bit of AOE she also pulls ahed. She is just rly bad if you need to parry and if the boss dont give you time to finish her combo.

Tiering def characters claiming they are bad and lowest in the tier list.
Me with my tao qi S5, generating 60 energy in mere 3 hits and ulting like she carried a battery pack energized with the power of pink sweat with her every 20s and every chance i can pull off a concerto on her she just generate it again 60sp without any coooldowns.
most of the time I use other characters she already have enough to pull one rotation with an ult ready every time she managed to land those 3 hits.
She literally became my carry at this point and she hits for 25k everytime she ults and each hit chunking 5-7k dmg coming from her massive defense.
I don't even have proper echoes with maximized crit rates yet!
Oh and blocking results in 50% def buff and 25% self-heal which means you can just facetank and survive while performing a counter attack at the same time.
I forget to mention the shield which made the game very comfy.

That doesn't make sense she scales off defense which has the highest base stat in-game at the end-game stages.

Realistically, this game have 3 characters and each one complement each other with different playstyle that can complement each other. It's written in their Outro.
If you expect everyone can dodge like a pro gamer with perfect evasion and knowledge of bosses, sure I understand the concept of abandoning defense for offense.
But your forgetting that not everyone has perfect reflexes or you have completely FORGOT TO remember that THIS IS A GACHA GAME.
I wish this was dark souls and I would completely agree with that statement but it isn't.
You will get HIT eventually and you will definitely one day FORGET how a boss moves after stopping playing for a while... after merely doing MUNDANE daily quests after finishing all objectives and EVENTS.

Yeah, I main Danjin(in a Danjin hypercarry team) and I don't see the problem of her hp running out, dodging and parrying is not that hard once you've got the tempo of your enemy

Quick Swap Aalto doesn't work to well, but his playstyle of hit and run can be really addicting if you master the timing.
Honestly, if you have an R3 Aalto he's just as powerful as Single target Jiyan in Version 1.0 and at R6 he's even stronger.
YangYang would just be emotional support but the team could work if you really want it to
As much as I would like to ride this games combat system in the form of praise for eternity I can still only say the same 2 things since I don't care to look any deeper as I don't need to.
1: A fight can go back and forth
2: You don't NEED good units. It's basically all up to personal preference (for the most part RIP LingYang)
I'd argue that currently Taoqi has a place higher than 3rd to last namely because shes one of four characters that actually offer any kind of survivability. You need three teams for ToA, and most people dont have Verina and Jianxin, which means Taoqi can easily slot in as your 3rd sustainer.
I expect that her value will drop significantly once we get another healer/shielder out since she can be clunky to play and has the curse of split scaling. But for what she is, shes fun and decent at keeping the team alive.
Danjin a disguised 4 star, shes actually 5 star, she has good damage that scale with other 5 stars, you can get her copies easier than 5 stars, since the game wants you to play dodging instead of tanking, hp and defenses dont really matter, so Danjin is the best girl so far and extremely cute hahaha
Sadly I nstead of aero dragon I got Verina. But thankfully also 5 Mortefi and the semi-fire dragon man is so fine. I actually like the no parry dodging challenge with him. Fire xingqiu.

Yuanwu isnt actually bad. His numbers were just mega nerfed from cbt2 because of how OP he was. He literally did 20% more damage than calcharo, in a yinlin team. Yes, he was better than a 5* unit. That's why in the yinlin trial she is used alongside yuanwu. Taoqi is actually really good since she has dmg deepen and self heal. This gives her high potential for a sustainless dual dps team, with her proccing rejuv set for the two dual dpses. Sooner or later, taoqi stonks are gonna fly high. Chixia also is pretty good, with higher ST dmg than danjin at s0. The problem with chixia is that her dmg falls off against groups due to being a pure ST dps. Danjin is ridiculously overrated. Sure, she may have high output for a 4* (16k), but her output pales in comparison to Hrover which is at 24k. She works well as a havoc buffer, but due to her slow concerto regen she has a high uptime. This means that she needs to be built as a dual dps in Hrover danjin teams, and would cost 2x resources to actually have the same value as sanhua. Depending on the future availability of havoc dmg deepen, danjin might just become useless. Hrover has innate 10% havoc RES PEN at s4 (obtainable without pulling), that as of now is roughly worth 12-18% havoc dmg deepen. When future characters have more dmg deepen, the value of RES PEN would increase dramatically. Danjin is completely unable to be used as a burst dps, unlike Hrover.
Also, please go and listen to how to pronounce these names, it hurts to hear someone butcher an entire language.

The game is weird, with the exception of the latest mommy and maybe seperoth, the 4-stars in WuWa are almost universally more attractive than the 5 stars, and less creepy to boot.
