I'll never forget the first time we drove down PINS!!! To tell you the truth I cant even tell you what prompted our first trip. If it weren't for all the trash washed up on the beach it would have been even better. But yeah,it's a very cool trip that I recommend everyone do at least once.
You guys have some nice setups! Hopefully I can make it out to PINS before the year ends! Thanks for sharing and most importantly the tip about the Raccoons! I would haven't have thought that Raccoons would be that far out on the beach!
Great video, like the 4Runner setups. Actually just saw your video on the Capitan gap trip and then this video popped up, we live in Ruidoso just south of Capitan and we also have a home on Padre Island, cool to see some camping videos around both our places.
I’ve been planning my first overlanding trip to South Padre because of your channel. I’m going to be bringing in the New Year solo with the sunrise over the ocean. I’m considering a switch from SPI (childhood vacation spot) to PINS (never been before) because information on camping passes is more readily available online. Is there a particular area that tends to be, I guess, more secluded from other campers? I’m down to meet people, but my intention is be alone with God for a few days. I appreciate any advice that you may have to offer. Great videos!
Awesome man! Sounds like a great way to bring in the new year! Especially solo with the big man upstairs 👊🏼 It’s pretty easy there, the guard shack at the entrance gives your pass. Sometimes they are not there so you just drive right in! We try to go at least 30 miles down the shore, that tends to be a good distance to get away from people completely. But it depends on the sand sometimes the people start to disappear around 15 miles. Have fun man be safe! Enjoy your time there 🤙🏼
Was most of the driving you did in the soft sand in 4hi? Or low? I’ve only ever been to SPI which is hard packed all the way. First time driving on PINS tomorrow. Nervous even tho I’m in the 3x locked 80
