This is not my permanent setup im always changing stuff up and sometimes get bored of things etc. but for now this is it! Thanks for watching, let me know what you think in the comments below!

I’ve been planning my first overlanding trip to South Padre because of your channel. I’m going to be bringing in the New Year solo with the sunrise over the ocean. I’m considering a switch from SPI (childhood vacation spot) to PINS (never been before) because information on camping passes is more readily available online. Is there a particular area that tends to be, I guess, more secluded from other campers? I’m down to meet people, but my intention is be alone with God for a few days. I appreciate any advice that you may have to offer. Great videos!

Awesome man! Sounds like a great way to bring in the new year! Especially solo with the big man upstairs 👊🏼 It’s pretty easy there, the guard shack at the entrance gives your pass. Sometimes they are not there so you just drive right in! We try to go at least 30 miles down the shore, that tends to be a good distance to get away from people completely. But it depends on the sand sometimes the people start to disappear around 15 miles. Have fun man be safe! Enjoy your time there 🤙🏼

That's not bad with a giant tent and brick of the tundra for aero dynamics. I built mine with the intent of being able to do abit over everything as overlanding is something I do maybe two times a year. My truck on 35s im still able to get 15.5 - 16.5 hwy and 11-12 city. Averages out to like 13.5 per tank so this isn't much worse but I love my truck to death. I definitely need a better more efficient daily though XD

@@HPWRanchThe spot on the mountain looks great. Do you think a 2 wheel drive Tacoma can make it up there?

    • @HPWRanch

@@vr812 hi there! We definitely recommend 4-wheel drive because not all wheels are on the ground all of the time. I’m sure if you’re experienced 2-wheel drive might not be an issue, but we recommend 4-wheel for over the mountain! We have a lot of other riding trails that are still fun and would be great for a 2-wheel drive!

It might be tough! There’s definitely a lot of loose rock and it’s pretty steep

Man I saw this on hip camp but it didn’t have many reviews. Sometimes people will say 1000 acres but only let you camp on 10 acres or so. I thought this might be one of them but I guess not.

Nice set up! Quick question though. What rate rear springs are you running or do you have airbad assist? Mine would be pooping like crazy!!

Enjoyed, you & your Son with this video, teaching him the ways. Nice tips about that ranch & option it might give. Had Uncle & Aunt who had a ranch, that was likely, NE a bit from that ranch, back towards Leaky.
