I'm at an age now where I sadly realize that many of the great entertainers and characters of my life have gone. Took both of these for granted in my youth, thought they were a bit square , mum and dad's music. But when you watch it now - Campbell had such a range that when they duetted Val Doonican took Glen's part and Glen took the high harmony so effortlessly.
So sad to think that these two great singers have now gone, and losing them in the same year as well. R. I. P. Val Donican and Glen Campbell thank you both for all your brilliant music. They don't make singers like you two anymore ☹️

Maybe I'm getting old but as a kid in the 80s I hated the val doonican shows but now the nostalgia factor watching them is off the charts.I was wrong they were great 👍
I always liked Glen and my mom had his Greatest Hits record. I still have it! Always knew he was a good singer but didn’t realise how good until I saw this. Glen is singing some pretty difficult upper harmonies while Val sings the main tune. Pretty impressive.
I remember my dad had a cassette tape of Val and it had his cover of Witicha Lineman...dare I say it...I prefer the cover but for the life of me I can't find it online...if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated 😁

That duet at 3:45 is pretty special. They’re so well matched you can’t tell who ‘s singing the tune and who’s singing the countermelody. Sublime.
