This is what Saturday night telly used to be all about.....miss all the great entertainers. How I long for the days when people on TV were stars and had talent. THAT was the reason they were ON TV. Thank you Val and Dave and all your fellow stars.
Both were not just great entertainers but possessors of great humanity and charm. The present generations of 'celebrities' are devoid of these attributes.Stip the world I want to get off
Dave Allan was a great comedian, and thanks to
video recording, he still is in a way.
Priceless! I needed that in today’s madness.
Two of Ireland's greatest ever entertainers both are sadly now gone but they were just fabulous
two of the sweetest and best in the biz missing them both
A force of nature, every so often there comes along a one off! Dave is one of those......😎

Watched val doonican every week. But to be honest mainly for dave Allens spot. Val was great too.
I do lobe dave alan he was also very good xxx
Dave is pretty good at tracking 3 different accents while doing a joke.
He did look a lot like Dave!
That's funny!! Of course he did.
He WAS wearing a glove on his left hand.
To this day that joke sums up the nutters on both sides in Glasgow.
Love to him and ken - I met Dave for BBC, he was so pleasant after the show (1981).
I also did a mega mess-up on introduction, but thar thou goes or wents.
He was far more calmer in real life - + a total bloke, offering me a fag (no pun). Mark.
Great stuff and great people. The good old days eh !!! -- l wish we had them back -- None of this Woke Nonsense eh !!!
As an Irishman, Dave Allen saying that he was in 'the British army' at that time, was a very big deal!
A bit like saying im in ISIS now!
Why? The Irish war had been over for nearly 50 years by that point!
@@Juliukas101 'the troubles' were still going on.
Interesting how the attire of the show does not include Ties. Anyone know the hosts of this aspect of the show?
