Cody, i am Egyptian from Canada,
1) Never show to much that your interested in the item, show them that you dont mind leting it go.
2) Negotiate the price you want only and go lower to have a margin of negotiation.
3) If he resist about your offer show him the money your offering.
4) If he keep resisting to much. Say thank you and leave right away telling them that you will try to find it somewhere else at your price and that you dont mind if you dont find it
Most of the time they either wont let you leave the shop or they will let you leave and come to pick you up outside not to loos the sale

Okay for most things you got good prices , except for the lantern it almost costs from 60-80 LE and of course the papers 400 is just too much it by max costs 30 pounds each

I am a girl and we buy scarfs at this range of prices.. and this area is very cheap even for Egyptians&take in consederation the high hiring prices at these places&the collapsing of the Egyptian pound against the dollar(1 dollar =16,...pounds) .
All these reasons make the prices very satisfying
Tip: don't convert to dollars. Spend Egyptian pounds like an Egyptian.

He got a perfect deal for as a tourist but really if he brought an Egyptian friend with him he might give him a more better deals really my advice to any visitor that gonna buy some thing from Egypt is to say the price that he wanna buy and pretend to leave so the seller will call him back and agree really do that always
