    Great One year ownership review! I’ve got a full spec BG M240i I think the Sticker was about 60,000. I’ve had it since last June and have 7500 miles with no issues with one exception one time my cameras wouldn’t work and it just stated camera malfunction I believe . But by the time I got home it corrected itself. My first BMW and definitely won’t be my last . I feel like I’m still on the honeymoon with this car and never experienced that before going on a year . Such a well balanced all around car . It scratched that itch for me with respectable power topped with comfort and great fuel economy. The xDrive is incredible and handles like a dream . Love the active suspension to set the mood . My only problem is it’s hard to keep my finger off the sport plus button lol. I think my car might of come with the already upgraded software. My battery charger works and it’s got the burbles you talk about on down shifts and the booffff up shifts lol sounds awesome stock a long with the m240i instrument cluster badge. I’m still fighting the temptation to start mods but it’s so good and once I start I know it will be hard to stop from my previous cars . So far it’s unmolested with only m valve stem caps and door locking pins . Pretty proud of my self but I owe part of the celebration to BMW for how satisfying this car is stock !!

    In the UK here. I got mine 6 months old that was owned by the dealership. Brooklyn Grey, adaptive suspension, tech pack, hardon Kardon sound system and had a carbon spoiler and splitter on it. Registered in March 22. It’s got 14500 miles on now
    I love it. Best car I’ve owned.

    I totally agree with the paint. I think you had a valid point. Mexico factories painting the cars could have cut corners in paint layers. I believe any out sourcing will do the very least if they can get away with it.

    Although its not as pretty on the outside as the previous m240i, the interior is night and day. Such high quality and luxurious feel on everything and the idrive system is just great.

    Nice review! Also dont fret about not having the wireless charging since your phone will get scorching hot and eventually turn off anyways lol. The wired charging is far superior in my opinion.

    • @mgnoodle2589
      @mgnoodle2589 Год назад

      Is that on an iPhone or any phone? I use iPhone 14 and you could cook an egg on it if you wireless charge whilst steaming music from it?
      Not sure if it’s an iPhone problem or the wireless pad in the car?

    • @PerformanceOnWheels

      I believe it really has to do with maintenance. Most leather that is color has issues from lack of cleaning and conditioning

    How could you secure your front license plate? Does it impact your front sensors?

    • @PerformanceOnWheels
      @PerformanceOnWheels  Год назад

      No sensors impacted. There was a slight annoying vibration when radio was off. It is just a bracket that screws into tow hook location.

  • @MitchM240
    @MitchM240 Год назад +4

    I feel so bad for people living in states that require a front plate. It looks like shit. As someone still waiting to get my M240. I appreciate videos like this. BTW i’s not a new factory in Mexico. I have a 2020 M340 and it was built there. I think they figured out how to use the paint gun by now. I agree 100%, this car isn’t the “toy” car but it is the best daily driver. I plan on putting a car seat in the back seat. It’s fine for that, but I wouldn’t want to sit there as an adult.

      @@PerformanceOnWheels living in probably the 5th most expensive country to own a car (the Netherlands) and it's bloody next to the country that 'makes' the bloody car! Like for example (don't know it for every car but this one is such a big difference)...new a normal 5.0 V8 Mustang costs 60k in Germany...here it's 148k.....only difference is the taxes. Which are: base price + tax based on emissions and VAT over that whole...so tax on tax. Only countries that are worse (of which I do not know the exact order but #1 and #2 I do): Singapore, Norway, Denmark, Sweden then us.

    Those new sounds you are hearing post update (on shifts and the burbles) are unfortunately all fake. Look around for the “iconic sounds” setting or just say “hey BMW Iconic sounds” and turn it off. You will find that most of those sounds will disappear.

    • @PerformanceOnWheels
      @PerformanceOnWheels  Год назад

      I drove the car for most of the year with the artifical sound off. It was turned back on during the software update. It was pretty obvious the piped attempt that is. I could see that some folks would think that it is adding to the excitement or experience.

    • @jhonnydrop7100
      @jhonnydrop7100 Год назад

      @@PerformanceOnWheels the problem with turning off the artificial sounds is that it also closes the exhaust valves, making the real sounds less as well. Easy enough to see and hear for yourself by having the car parked in sport mode. Turning on the iconic sounds will oven the exhaust valves, turning it off will close them. Not sure why BMW did it this way though.
