Suggestion: For visual enhancement, why not surround the elevator's track with a line of pre-built viaduct bridge spans, so it looks like one continuous span? It'd become a lift bridge that lifts with the train on it.

This is similar to what I'm building , but I got my rails and bearings on Amazon it was $42.00 for a pair of them with two bearings each shop around you can find good deals

DCC power buss is not DC.

RIght. I'm powering my track with DCC with block detection, but nothing in the design prevents using DC instead.
