    If you want to buy any of the irons, why not support the channel and use globalgolf:

    TaylorMade M4: globalgolf.pxf.io/TM_M4_irons
    You can find a written summary of my small test as a pdf here:

    Just come back from the driving range, they gave me a 6 RAC iron, just watched this video, might buy a set!
    Thanks man, great video, I’ve subscribed, good luck with the channel!

    I have RAC OS and love it. Some mentioned that they cannot believe this is 20 year old club. As I always say, Tiger can grab 1994 clubs and still shoot 67 with ease.

    Also got RAC OS as a beginner and love how high they go and if hit on the center it feels very soft

      I got on great with them at the range, definitely far less off-target shots, and I'm looking forward to my next round of golf!

    I’m in love with the RAC os clubs. I know they are about 20 years old but my dad didn’t play with them at all actually so they are basicallly new

    Thanks so much for your video. I had been playing in my early years and stopped for many years. Now I'm returning to the game and I was on a really small budget and I got a set of the tailor made Rac os irons.

      Hi mate, great to hear! I hope you will start enjoying the game once more. I was in the same boat 3 years ago, when I started to play golf again after a 15 year break. Hopefully the irons will serve you well. Did you also get some woods and a driver?

      @@millennialgolfer yes I got two drivers. Tailor made Reax 50 gram flex R and Burner super steel 10.5 I also have a ladies driver Prosimmon Icon 18 degree. Well it’s a bit humorous playing with the ladies driver. But for now it’s what I got.

    The only thing I dislike about my Rac OS irons is the amount of offset they have! Besides that, I honestly love them, but didn’t they come out in 2005? Good video btw, I was also looking at upgrading my 3-PW Rac OS irons for some M4’s so this video is exactly what I needed!

      I'm happy the video helped you 👍 I believe there were two iterations of RAC OS irons coming out at different years.

    I just picked up a set of the RAC OS at a local pro shop for 75 bucks I was playing golf with my cousin I saw the clubs before we started as we're playing the front nine I decided I was going to stop back at the pro shop and pick those clubs up. Ended up playing the back with them. They hit wonderful

    Funny cuz I play left handed and use my dads RAC os irons. My dad bought my brother the new M4’s so it’s basically a side by side review😂

      How cool! Do you see any other differences than me?

    • @itsfrancoisb
      @itsfrancoisb Год назад +1

      I don’t actually. For a beginner the RAC are not bad at all. Since I started getting into golf about 4 weeks ago I used as I said because I’m left handed and they are my dads clubs so I’m extremely lucky to get hand me downs. This video is quite informative. And yes the RAC have lots of loft to be honest

    Why does everyone compare irons based on the number stamped on their sole? We all know the current generation of irons have jacked up lofts by at least one club compared to irons of the mid 2000s so distance wise a comparison of say, a newer gen 8 iron versus the older gen 7 iron and so on would be fairer and more meaningful.

  • @Ed-tm7fy
    @Ed-tm7fy 2 года назад +2

    I would guess that the M4's have stronger lofts. Hence the extra distance.?

    • @millennialgolfer
      @millennialgolfer  2 года назад

      Yes, you're correct Ed. For example the 8 irons: M4 has 33° whereas the RAC OS has 37°. However, it's not the full story. The M4 manages to have a similar ball flight height as the RAC imho. Maybe not so much bite (spin) when hitting the greens. I briefly discuss this in my PDF on the M4 as well: cutt.ly/M4_Irons There is also a link to a video by Second Swing who did a nice comparison of different irons with the same loft.

  • @adrianrice354

    so you should of compared the 1 up club for the RAC , so if your using the 8 iron M4 , then 7 iron for the RAC ,, try to keep lofts similar , so you just saying that the M4 is getting more distance , well duh .. stronger lofts . if I can hit both clubs decent , will buy the cheaper set ,, and then have more money to buy other clubs . LOL :)

    • @millennialgolfer
      @millennialgolfer  8 месяцев назад

      If your ego can ignore the number on the club, then probably, yes you can just hit one more iron. But the new irons do not only have stronger lofts, in general the ball flight is also slightly different, so that balls actually stop on a green too. Ideally you should always try out different clubs and see whats best for your own swing...
