How many games should have to reach challenger for a gold player if he decides to put real effort to climb ?
at which elo those 3 advices come to be realistic to do?
Seems from all the comments there needs to be another guide for how to farm safely as an adc with a roaming support. Also about roaming timings to make it easier for the adc as well
The support should leave after you guys crash the wave (and he should help you to do it). If you crashed a big wave, you recall for item and he goes off to roam instead. Then you come back to a big wave about to crash into your tower and you farm it safely under tower (provided the supp warded for you and you know you're not getting dove). If you only crashed a small wave, you don't recall, you just retreat out of vision and wait for the wave to come to you.
If you fail to crash, your support just leaves you, and the enemy bot just freezes on you, then you're pretty much fucked unless you're Ezreal, or something else that can steal last hits from long range. You can try to go out of vision to bluff that you recalled and encourage them to push, or if your supp is just going mid, you can also go with him.

Hahahaha..I'm remembering how often adcs tilt or start pinging like crazy for brief roams and imagining the reactions for roaming like this Nautilus in the beginning..
I used to be like this and now I advocate for my Support to create pressure elsewhere (unless the lane is absolute dog then please avoid feeding the enemy twice as hard). However I think an important thing they didn't focus more on was the roam timing... It's easy to just leave lane but leaving lane at the right time to minimize the amount of CS an ADC has to give up to stay alive as well as doing so during Jungle pathing away from your bot lane to prevent a 3/4 man dive for plate gold & easy dragon is a big thing.
I advocate for smart roams but please don't just leave me to starve and complain I do no damage or not joining the team while I'm trying to hit up the collection zones and jungle camps to comeback. Like they said, low elo enemy supports likely wont be there to stop you which means their thirsty asses will want a free kill down bot.
@@yuumijungle548 I just tried it and my adc played it safe while I was away and didn't complain. I'm so shocked. I also roamed near top and then made my way down for a successful mid gank. I was fortunate this time to have a Jhin who could handle themselves 😌

Yes sure, in low elo your adc will play safe and never goes when you engage, but as soon as you leave lane for 1 second, they engage ALONE 1v2, ping you for not being there, type in all chat to report support, than proceed to afk
Exactly this. I try and roam, really I do. But I can't because my ADC will die 1v2 and will flame me and bring the whole team down. Especially if your roam only creates pressure and doesn't get a kill.

Mid or jgl gets more pressure and more fed and can impact the game waaaaay better than ur adc for a certain amount of time

I recently went supp with a ziggs adc, I had granted him an easy lane win by making sure he got very fed but our midlane was struggling so I roamed up there and got our midlaner a huge shutdown and ziggs started throwing because he was playing too aggressively when he knew I wasn't there and so he started pinging me complaining that I left lane once. Our midlaner ended up carrying the game after that big shutdown

Yes but the prob about you supp below diamond is that ur legit clueless about timing and just roam whenever u feel like moving, even if ur botlane is getting freeze for 15 min so,.. yeah a bit akward 👍

This only works if your adc is good. There are times when I get my adc a triple kill, roam, and my adc dies repeatedly.

That's what always bothers me about this channels videos about support role. They put so much emphasis on roaming, which is a good thing, but it requires you having a competent ADC and at plat below you won't have. You try to roam for 1 min and your ADC dies 3 times and is now tilted and flaming you. It's easy to roam as a Challenger Support when you have a Challenger ADC.
@@atrozzorta9602 yeah, it just depends on whether your ADC is worth carrying or whether someone else on your team is the win condition. You kind of have to think like a Jungler. I know the number 1 and 2 Thresh have two opposite playstyles, one roams a ton and the other sticks to lane, so for support, both are equally viable (depending on the champ). If your adc sucks and you have a carry midlander or Jungler, as long as the enemy team doesn't have a hard carry ADC like vayne, having a fed assassin mid should trump having an enemy team fed ADC. It's just hard to tell whether you should roam as they say, or depend on a good adc
Your enemy support is taking tad vantage of your absence. In lane by repeatedly. Diving your adc under turret with the enemy jungler.
Stop perma roaming. That's not the playstyle this guide emphasizes. He even "I'm not saying to leave lane and never come back"
Which is what 99% of roaming supports in low elo.
Literally blindly ignore Your own adc as they're getting 3-4 manned under turret lol.

I already knew and do those things, but always a good video to remind me to do it more often. Problem is though most silver-plat supports probably wouldnt roam more from lane cause the ptsd of adcs raging and in worse cases afking/ragequitting cause they dont get the game and starts dying when you are not around to babysit them 24/7

As I am watching this video that is heavily centered around roaming as a support u forgot to mention the timing where u are allowed to roam how much time u can and the support match up in order to prevent ur adc to get dove
this is because its different every game
just like you dont always path topside as a jungler, for obvious reasons
you.. should be able to determine which sup ad mu can dive your solo ad if u really put thought into it id say..
Also your adc could be one of "those" adcs. It depends on so much, you need to learn your own judgment
Im d4 support main and sadly, each time im out of lane for at least 1 minute 90% adcs start blaming me for their deaths, in most casea this end up by them afk farming or leaving the game

That vision line concept is crazy. I hadn't considered drawing a line between towers and placing the wards that way.
I did it in normal and my teammates harrassed me for not being on lane all the time and blamed me because "I'm not supposed to ward I'm supposed to heal" and everyone kept saying supp diff and that I'm a troll even though I explained that this is what I have to do
I am bronze IV and I was just playing rankeds as bard support just a while ago and I tried the tips. Man we lost ahaha but actually this was one of my best plays as support. I took the advice and roamed but only when the adc finally understood that he was not a challanger and could not take the others team adc and support alone LoL. When the adc got this message he starded to play safe thankfully and I was able to roam and help other teamates which improved their games. But by the end the mid and the adc where thinking that they were challengers (nooo) and kept trying to solo kill but endup feeding the other team. I got a bit upset but I felt like in this game I was able to improve as support, thanks for the tips!!!
it be like that with adcs.if you want to escape elo hell,you need to remember that your win conditions are usually the jg and the mid laner.don't even bother with adcs,they'll get a kill and then immediately flash under the enemy turret if left unsupervised
@@aaabbb-zc7sx trueeeee, saw this several times hahaha it amazes me how dumb some noob ADCs get after managing a kill, they start to think they are invencible for some reason
I am a pyke main. Pyke roams and vision control are very strong. However, many times I find myself with ADCs that don´t know how to be by themselves, they have a slow push coming towards them but they still try to last hit 1 or 2 minions, getting too close and dying in a 2vs1, they blame me and tilt... and then the game becomes much more difficult to win with a tilted adc.
Sometimes, I find myself balancing the gains from moving out of line with the loss of the tilting possibility :/
Wait, no one is mentionning the pyke adc? I am the only one disturbed by this? I mean, i am used to see melee such as yaso or yone on botlane, and apc like swain, ziggs or xerath. But Pyke? Is that viable?
i mean pyke got good follow up and damage early so it can work properly if piloted well.
pyke has been a viable adc for like a year....

My roaming and warding is so bad. I need to work on that. My teamfighting and laning is good but I guess it's the more abstract concepts.

I would advise against roaming if you are below plat. Your ADC will 100% die in lane and then tilt and start flaming. Roaming as support isn't really an option until you are higher ranks unless you are okay with having a tilted flaming ADC. Or if you do roam time it with your ADCs recall, and be back in lane when they get there.
Okay, but what about Sona? like honestly, if I'm roaming around at level 3, I don't think anyone who sees me alone is going to think I'm a threat or applying any kind of pressure, and unless I go all in on a damage build, they're right
While it's true that sona is a scalling champion and needs her ultimate to initiate fights, she can play around top or jungle who have cc abilities, speed them, shield them, heal them, take some damage for them, clear vision, put vision, slow enemies, reduce enemies damage, and do some damage that can be the difference between life or death in those close fights. Also her passive on q does do a good Chunk of damage even without items. If the enemy team decide to ignore Sona they will pay. The difference is that you must be careful to not be caught alone, since you are very squishy and will die until somebody goes close. Though, this wouldn't change the fact that in low elo, your adc will spam ping you, int 1v2 under enemy turret, and flame you in chat for doing anything else but babysit them.
@@danielclv97 I agree with what you're saying, but you kinda went back to what I was asking about and its still the main issue: wandering alone is just straight up dangerous, I think being by myself is basically just asking for a free kill for the other team. When I'm paired with someone or can at least make it to a place with others, I can support the bejeezus out of them to save me :S
@@Ravenleaf182 Most of the time you should have a pretty good idea where most of enemy team is a part from jg and Sona is also pretty good at running away with the speed boost

@@Ravenleaf182 didn't say she always had to run away, just that she can choose to. Also remember fighting isn't the only way to apply pressure. For example just controlling vision and getting into a position where your team can make plays is valuable.
Well my mid wanted to kill me when I just visited his line, and my jng pushed me back (he used that jump plant) when there was 3vs.1 and I just wanted to heal him...yes, he died... alone as he wished. Sooooo yeah, that was fun 🙂
I need to work on my roams so great vid but the problem is that my adc will always bitch and complain because I'm not there then proceed to knowingly overextend just because they're impatient and dumb then run it down and say "supp never in lane gg"
It's insane how much adcs rely on their supp till they're 10/0 and say "ggez all me adc gap" as though they wouldn't be crying without their supp to spoon feed them kills
The only reason they rely on support it is, because they are in 2v2 lane, most ADCs can easily lane in top or mid without support. Also, ADCs only cry when they zoned or dived while you roaming, no one cries when both supports roam at same time or one/both enemy backed. Leaving Jinx or similar ADC without flash in lane alone vs any engage support will 100% end up in them being dived in ANY elo.
Thank you for the guidance :) I am now climbing back from Iron because I missed two season 🤣🤣 I had a duo partner whom I playing with for 4 years, the synergies now on peak 😇 I really hope that I could be even better keeping the advices.
As a jungler, the support thing is 100% true. When I have a support that's helping me make plays it's like I'm just gliding through the game, it makes it *so* much easier to hard carry.
one and two can only be done if you got a good adc. 3 is good tip to know when first playing

contrary to what you believe...that actually is a bad play on nautilus - it's only valid because of the pyke adc (you didn't mention that)
Not to mention the naut actually achieved extremely little. Risk reward which didn’t pay off.
the strategy with supp leaving bot is great but doesn't it mean that adc will be constantly pushed , maybe dived or zoned so that he won't get cs ( when it is the most important think he does) and basically with that strategy you make your adc's life miserable.

It also depends on what support champs you play inorder you do this, like litterally, playing a champ like Soraka, this ain't gonna work.
Leave lane at level 4 till your adc gets a level up as sora adcs neeed levels
Great video. I've gotten pretty good (I think) about when/where to place wards and set up vision lines. I am not as good about playing around junglers though. I'll have to try setting them up more for invades and other plays.
I also really like roaming and think they're spot on with pressuring the map, but one thing I would point out is pressuring other lanes means losing pressure on the bot lane. Recently played a game with a draven that pushed excessively against a very passive brand and zeri lane. As Leona I could not do anything with them always under turret so I started to roam. Helped secure kills for my mid laner but while I was gone the brand suddenly woke up and the bot 2v1'd my draven adc. I need to try communicating before and during the game so my adc understands I will be leaving lane sometimes, that way they might actually play safer and just farm while I'm gone.
Besides the last tip the other two feel like they are not for enchanter supports.
Yeah, the first issue is absolutely gamebreaking. Because whenever I go for roam as a support, my adc starts yelling at me, feeds on purpose and ragequit. Gold/plat is just...different....
I'm in bronze (I ain't playing ranked and wasting my time just for a rank so I didn't really rank up since weeks ago) and I don't have that problem, is it because low elo people think that whatever their mate is doing is because he is actually good?
Was the nautilus the worst case scenario? What if pyke dies, now you are both lvl 3. The point of that example is that creating chances and taking risks will win your game harder that taking the safer options.
Well if he didn’t roam then you could argue “worst case scenario” is that mid dies jungler dies top dies and bot and sup are still useless even the level advantage.
If pyke dies, that only takes away a single play that could’ve been made at the moment, but the point of roaming was to prevent other, different bad things from happening.
This is all assuming pyke, a very mobile slippery champion that doesnt need to be spoon fed to get strong lane game dies.
He is safe under his turret with a great wave state. Your job is to protect your adc any time they need you but if they aren't in danger then you are just stealing xp
TBH as an ADC I feel like its really obnoxious when your support going roaming around the map aimlessly. Especially b/c often you're focused on farming and all of the sudden your support is gone while the enemy support is doing their job/putting on pressure.
The other annoything thing is often in low elo you get a Naut or a Blitz that does this, gets 2 levels under leveled and then comes back through the river and dies. B/c that same support who was tanky/scarey is now an under leveled piece of garbage.
Best thing to do in low elo is just farm up, manage the wave, and ward up when you have Prio.
Hold on so you're telling me that one game where I accidentally took smite on bard support (Long day, don't ask how one accidentally takes smite) and then figured "Fuck it, if I have a junglers summoners, might as well play less like a support and more like a jungler" and do stuff like place shrines to keep my laners and jungler healthy, spam-gank all three lanes, leash every scuttle for my jungler, Cover my junglers invades, get deep vision at every opportunity, set up vision for/deny vision around dragon and herald before helping the relevant lanes get priority to ensure a numbers advantage on top of our double-smite (I didn't buy a jungle item though, so my smite only did 450 hp, but that still meant that in theory we could smite at 1350 hp, while the enemy jungler had to wait for 900), I was actually playing how you're supposed to play support, despite being flamed by my jungler throughout the entire game for reasons that I to this day don't understand?
And before anyone asks, the jungler was the only one who had a problem with my playstyle that game, even the ADC loved the "jgl" gap they were experiencing (jgl in quotation-marks because while everyone called it jungle diff, I was still the support).
Also for everyone looking for advice on how to play bard 1) Go ask literally anyone else, I am deep in the pits of bronze, I have no idea what I'm doing, I just do random shit and maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, I don't really care 2) go where the chimes guide you and good plays will come to you. Also buy swifties first back (when you're level 3) and make plays close to your jungler, even if they flame you appearently
I don't get it... In this particular and most other videos you suggest to always path towards mid/bot to hover but in one of the rell video you said to roam only if u have tempo advantage and path direct bot if you and your adc recall at the same time (for most part) or try to 2v1 in bot if u have tempo over enemy support

My current problem that I have a hard time with is how to not be super for behind? The video says it’s ok to give levels to the adc but when the adc does not get levels during the roam and especially later on in the game when your 11 and everyone else is 13-15 what do you do at that point?

But what about adc getting frustrated and dying because of tilt and simply not knowing how to play when supp is roaming. i think this is a big problem in low elo
lol every game i either sit bot and people complain the other supp is roaming... or i go 3 levels behind and everyone spam pings my level, either way i always get tilted :D
It's so inbeded into our minds about exp even those apps like face check tell you it's bad that you get lvl 6 late when you're running around helping
The XP thing I didn't even really think about I main cho support and level 1,2 and 3 are definitely when im strongest comparatively (besides level 6) but ya I will try and out this into my games thanks :)
I’m extremely new to league. I’m a support player on all other games that I play and was wondering what champion I should start out with? I really need some help because I’m really bad at the game lol.
To me the first rotation to top is kind of trolling cause sett could just back after crashing the wave and i think it would be better to take control of river dragon
On tip 1 & 2: Do that on low elo and your adc dies alone and you get ping spammed and flamed = Enemy bot gets feed, wins the game and you get hard stuck :D

First tip would work in higher elo, but doubt in lower elo;
where the adc dies all the time and complains that you aren’t with them 24/7, or I get told by Vayne who’s lvl 6 (and enemy lvl 5) that she doesn’t want to engage because her R isn’t that strong….

I use to roam as support till one match I got yelled at to get out of the mid lane and to stay the fck in bot lane. Needless to say the mid ended up feeding and I watched it from bot lane. There really is no winning as support mains. It is for sure a damn if you do and damn if you don't. I had one match where I had a 50+ vision score and was still getting yelled at that I needed to ward. I miss the days where support just stuck with the jungle.

Have Fun doing a roam in low elo. I do roam and i get good results but my Adc allways make them uselesse becaus in that short time he gos 0/2 or worse and loses tower

Over-roaming is one of the biggest reasons why low Elo engage supports don't climb. How often did I see absolutely clueless Leona/Naut running around in circles for 3-4 min in row, ganking empty lanes, helping jungler to do jungle camps etc. while ADC is getting zoned, chain-dived. Always end up in fed enemy bot lane and Leona's ADC being semi-afk for the rest of the game.
i already do all of this and im still stuck in bronze. i always get the highest vision score and even outscore the enemy jg most games. guess its just elo hell
well but what if you do if your adc dies often at bot that way? it looks like a high risk high reward thing to me as a silver player
maybe its only a good strat if you got to diamond + or smth :S

Here after all the bullying I’ve experienced. I’m really tired of my adc arguing about me not roaming or some shit and when i do they just head back to the turret and i die. This really made me leave a match afk cause i was 0/5 and everyone started shit like “rep sup”

ADC always yells at me every time I leave lane in bronze elo. But it helps a lot in the end.

You can't really roam that much in lower elo unless you can trust your ADC or yall duoing because your ADC is just going to feed and not be patient to farm. I don't how many times I've tried this method when I play support and its just bad domino effect. ADC will feed over and over again then we lose priority over drag. I feel like high elo players forget how it is in low elo (Yes I know there is smurfs but even still thats different because yall just destroy and don't really see whats actually going on). Its a completely totally different play style. You got people trying to fight their enemy laner that has more CS and completed item, when they only have a half item. They don't know when to fight and when not to. They don't know when and which champs are spiking or when they fall off and the list goes on. Unlike high elo players, they know all these things.

This video is kinda incorrect, in low elo, if you are a support and you leave lane for more than 10 seconds, your ADC will flame, and they will purposefully throw and rage.
whenever i don’t play with my normal queue the adc rages at me for ganking mid and setting up dragon early game. when i lvl 6 i’m almost never in the bot lane because top, mid and enemy jungles are easy picks in very low elo
Sometimes I leave lane even got kills to other lanes then my adc dies 2 times and quit the game pretty standard
Experience isn't invaluable on supports. The reason why you often leave lane isn't because your xp isn't important, but because your adc gaining solo xp boosts his ability not to int and to make better plays.

I get flamed in diamond for roaming mid or top and getting kills it’s absurd and it’s 9/10 by the JG.
So basically, the support is the TEAM's support, not exclusively the ADC's.
i keep chat disabled so i dont have to see my adc malding at me but i do see the spam pings lmao
My ADC never wants me to do stuff like this I always get flamed, I will stand back when they get the turret gold so they get it all and they pinging me repeatedly to assist, I shadow them when they are split pushing from jungle and take camps for them so they can just last hit it and get the gold and they will just ignore me pinging them to take it while I slowly get beaten to death by chickens and they walk off to recall xD I hope that when I get into gold tier level play they might know what I am trying to help them with. I roam to go place my red ward and see if I can assist with anything mid on my way back to lane and they will just hard push the wave and die like 50 percent of the time. I think a lot of it comes from the fact that ADC at low elo only know how to play hyper aggressive and don't know what to do if they don't have a six kill lead at all times. I have a much better time when my gf plays my adc because she knows what to do.
Yup, this is basically what LoL "community" is about. As support, you get criticized for the fact of being support.

Okay so I understand why support is called the funny jungler
The most important ward of the game, mid lane, that safe you soo much, almost all of the time whehn doing everything, U always put a ward in the center area.
Yeah the moment a support starts roaming the carry is raging in chat to report x9.
My favorite part of being a support is making ADCs salty when you accidently take a CS

at the start you say giving solo xp isn't that great than 3:47 you go back on what you said..
I'm in low elo and when I roam like this my adc dies and ping me -_-
What if your adc dies everytime you roam
But low elo teams push you back to your lane when you try to visit there lane then flame you
Hi. In a few days I will have school LOL turnament. I wonder if you could give me some advices to help to coordinate team and maby some good strategy to fight for something. Avarage elo of my team is about silver 2 so if You can help me don't get too crazy with plans. I appreciate all help I can get. ^_^
Sounds good doesnt work in low elo. ADs have a very bad habit in trying to 1v2 when you are gone, you can make a good engage 2v2 but adc refuse to follow up cause he made an professional analysis in 0,1 sec which says you cant win the fight, but wont hesitate 2 min later to try a pure 1v2 and shockingly die.
Also I think the video ignores alot of other problems with sup roaming, the AD can be zoned out from gaining CS, enemy bot earning plate gold etc. I think supports need to be very careful when to roam and when to not.
I disagree heavily with the first two points. You should not just leave your lane as a support if the means you’re leaving your adc 2v1 like you’ve impliied. I’m sure you knew this but didn’t state i. Many of the times that worked for the nautilus is cuz it was Pyke who can just escape and your adc must have a freeze or ways to deal with the other team. Even still if the enemy support isn’t punishing that then they’re an idiot, and if they do punish your lack of presence then you’re coming back to a lane which you’re now at a major disadvantage. There’s many aspects to why things work and don’t but simply “you should roam” will and won’t work,
I mean, my best Leona games are where I roam top/mid after recall, basically acting as a second jungler (or river shen xD). The first point is on point, I think - level 3 is a big spike for engage supports, and it does allow you to make plays besides afk botlane.
