When people appreciare a visit to Mcr it makes my heart swell. There was so much more that you could have seen and done you could have easily spent a week. Like any big city it has it's problems, but I genuinely believe it is one of the greatest cities in the world and yes we are some of the most helpful and friendly people in England. Another advantage is it's not that London place.

@@JayandKarolina Hopefully when you come back they will have done up the Town Hall. That is a beautiful building. I travel to quite a few other Northern cities e.g., Leeds and Sheffield, and Manchester is easily the most interesting city. Would recommend you visit the University of Manchester. You can walk it down Oxford St from Albert Sq, St Peters Sq, and visit the Manchester Museum at the same time. It's nice being around students because they are excited for good reason. I think that's what makes Manchester such a great city. It has one of the highest student populations in England but largely they hang out on Oxford Rd where there are 2 universities.

Manchester's architecture is inspiring both old and new. Much of London is depressing. If you like it, that's fine. I don't.
1:28:22 What's more crazy to think is that John Rylands Library was designed by his Wife and was built and gifted to him as a present from her. When i first walked into the Historic Reading Room your jaw just hits the floor. It has a definitive Church/Cathedral feel to it, but it messes with your brain and leaves you dumbfounded that "this is actually a Library!!!". Beautiful place! I'm so glad you guys loved Manchester. Like any City, it has its problems. Piccadilly Gardens is definitely one of them! But it also has its gems and because of the culture, it sure has a charm that leaves an impression. Cities in England change a lot from year to year, so when we come back in a few months/years it will probably be hard to find our way around 😜 Which is a cool but slightly terrifying vision! The world has definitely sped up, but solutions such as Beer Hotel or Dog-Friendly places are really interesting and convenient! 🍻🐶
Enjoyed your tour of Manchester very much. I live about 6 miles from the centre of Manchester and have not been to the city centre for about 20 years, so your tour and your enthusiasm were wonderful. So many changes too.

As a Mancunian your experience makes me so proud. I have to confess ive not managed to go to this and that yet but it's on my to do list. I love walking around looking at the old and new buildings. We have a few very interesting libraries that are worth checking out if you come again. Also i try to avoid Piccadilly gardens if i can. It's horrible.

You should! We like big cities overall but London and Manchester are quite different - Mcr as a city is quite vibrant and artsy whereas Ldn is way bigger, more official and has so many different districts as you know :)

My home City ❤🐝❤🐝 Manchester has everything, and some! Diverse, cultural, musical, also wet lol Manchester, back in the day, was called Cottonopolis. The area was chosen because of the inclement weather system as it was perfect for storing Cotton. I moved here from Northumberland over 17 years ago and it's a toss of a coin where rains the most lol

Only been to Manchester once, last year, but it's evidently a city that offers a lot and is thriving in a lot of areas (look at all those skyscrapers!). After watching this, I have more to explore on my next visit. The guy in the cathedral is a credit them - full of interesting info.

Went to Chethams school opposite Manchester Cathedral 52 years ago. Last lived in Manchester 40 years ago. Old enough to know Dennis Law but WOW the place has changed. Picadilly Gardens used to be beautiful.

Oh yeah, we truly did! That time around we only had like 2-3 days to explore but we would definitely need to be back after our Asia adventures! We found the John Rylands library and the Manchester Cathedral so captivating though :)

Loved the video J and K, i like the way you involve the people who live and work there. You ask questions and most people take delight in answering and that is so nice. Thanks James ❤️ We try to take into account different opinions of people or interesting facts that local people share with us because it always reflects the city and the reality of the residents :) It's hard to know everything, but curiosity will always lead us to discovering interesting things! In China everything will be new also we probably won't be familiar with most things haha
As ever you to were great guides to what is my nearest city. Naturally you have seen but a fraction of Manchester. And yet, in my near 80 years you have introduced me to a couple of places I've walked past innumerable times, but never had a peek inside: the wonderful John Rylands Library and the M/cr's Cathedral, wherein my mother and father were married prewar in 1938. Pity the weather was so dank, but that's pretty much M/cr's trademark. Many thanks for the tour.

Been watching some of your vids for a while - but now subscribed. You're a very pleasant couple and easy to watch. Lived in Manchester for many years but now live in the Newcastle area, loved your videos from the North East. Manchester has changed an incredible amount over the last 20 odd years - I do get down there a couple of times a year. However, my heart now belongs to the North East - Manchester is too busy and expensive to live there now. (And yes, stay away from Piccadilly Gardens - horrendous place, has been for years). That Brewdog hotel looks amazing. I'd definitely consider it next time I'm there as a treat, I can imagine it's expensive! EDIT - "This 'n That" is a legendary place amongst locals - incredible value for what you get as long as you like Indian food. I'm bloody hungry now!
It's so nice to hear that - because it's one thing to shoot vlogs and another to know that people really like them 😍 We feel most comfortable in the north of the UK, but don't yet know where specifically! Even if we don't drink beer much the Brewdog Doghouse Manchester was great - very ambient, with delicious food and in a great location! Speaking of Indian food - Jay's mum cooks brilliantly, so we can easily taste the authentic flavours, but the food at ‘This and That’ was simply PHENOMENAL 💛
You missed 80% of Affleck's! You have to walk through the shop on the left on the 1st floor and it goes to another huge area with several other floors. You only saw the main staircase area!

Holy Jesus! I was very interested by your great video, so much so that I looked on the Brewdog hotel website for prices. For ONE night for 2 people was £330!! Seriously? Last month I had a week in Hurgada all inclusive for £700 per person (there were two of us).That included the flight! And it didn’t rain, and it was hot, and we were 100M from the Red Sea.

@@JayandKarolina i have watched every single video, even when you in our part of the world the northeast, we have booked to blackpool next month, its not great as it used to be, B and B are cheap, we were there last month, we didnt plan to well, the manchester place, omg god, and the price, i looked it up for 3 nights, is really great value, we are going to go, but cheapest parking we can fins so far is 18 pounds, bit expensive, as thats for 24 hours. we got blackpool, for 3 nights again for 108 and free parking, no breakfast tho room only, on suit, but a budget hotel
Excellent video guys! 😀 I really enjoyed it as I used to spend many days of my misspent youth buzzing around Manchester City centre exploring and it brought it all back to me again. Happy days! I only live 20 miles away now in High Peak Derbyshire, but not been there for many years. After watching this I really want to go back again. Another place which is great to see there is the Manchester University Museum with all the ancient Egyptian relics. They have revamped it all just very recently, so I bet it's a really cool place to visit now no doubt? Also If you go into that round Central Library building, they have got an elevator that goes horizontally, it's mad! Good ole Madchester, 🐝Nice one and looking forward to your next video. 😁

Born and bred here, never wanted to move away. Its changed a lot and Piccadilly could be improved.. THe people are great. Not sure why its a tourist destination but enjoy.

I didnt have any clue that those carvings were there under the seats, let alone how a guide would describe one as "piss in a bottle!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 he isnt holding back is he! 😂😂😂😂😂 THIS is what I love about my Home City, the humour!!

Manchester is a superb city and I’m a Yorkshireman. I often walk from Worsley into the city along the Bridgewater Canal which is the last stretch you walked into Castlefields. I dislike Brewdog due to the CEO refusing his staff in London a £1 pay rise but fuck me that hotel looks good. Hate to say it.
Well you definitely visited the wrong football ground entirely there, but aside from that its a pretty good video .... i go in 'This and That' reguarly when i'm on a city centre pub crawl on a Saturday with the lads.

Manchester does have a bad reputation from other channels but the Cathedral looked nice and the man that showed you around Steve was very nice, The Curry place was nice not having to pay anything can you put a link to him in your comments. So far, we've only visited Llandudno which absolutely has stolen our hearts so I'm sure we'll do more of Wales exploring soon! 😍
Being guided by Steve was truly an incredible enrichment to our experience and general view of cathedrals in the UK! And all of Manchester had some amazingly preserved historical gems - The Rylands Library, The Viaduct etc.❤️ As you know, we slept pretty much in the city centre and had no safety issues. But there are always more suspicious people in big cities so I would just recommend being aware of it at any time...

Manchester, back in the day, was called Cottonopolis. The area was chosen because of the inclement weather system as it was perfect for storing Cotton. I moved here from Northumberland over 17 years ago and it's a toss of a coin where rains the most lol

Only been to Manchester once, last year, but it's evidently a city that offers a lot and is thriving in a lot of areas (look at all those skyscrapers!). After watching this, I have more to explore on my next visit. The guy in the cathedral is a credit them - full of interesting info.

Went to Chethams school opposite Manchester Cathedral 52 years ago. Last lived in Manchester 40 years ago. Old enough to know Dennis Law but WOW the place has changed. Picadilly Gardens used to be beautiful.

Oh yeah, we truly did! That time around we only had like 2-3 days to explore but we would definitely need to be back after our Asia adventures! We found the John Rylands library and the Manchester Cathedral so captivating though :)

As ever you to were great guides to what is my nearest city. Naturally you have seen but a fraction of Manchester. And yet, in my near 80 years you have introduced me to a couple of places I've walked past innumerable times, but never had a peek inside: the wonderful John Rylands Library and the M/cr's Cathedral, wherein my mother and father were married prewar in 1938. Pity the weather was so dank, but that's pretty much M/cr's trademark. Many thanks for the tour.

Been watching some of your vids for a while - but now subscribed. You're a very pleasant couple and easy to watch. Lived in Manchester for many years but now live in the Newcastle area, loved your videos from the North East. Manchester has changed an incredible amount over the last 20 odd years - I do get down there a couple of times a year. However, my heart now belongs to the North East - Manchester is too busy and expensive to live there now. (And yes, stay away from Piccadilly Gardens - horrendous place, has been for years).
That Brewdog hotel looks amazing. I'd definitely consider it next time I'm there as a treat, I can imagine it's expensive!
EDIT - "This 'n That" is a legendary place amongst locals - incredible value for what you get as long as you like Indian food. I'm bloody hungry now!
It's so nice to hear that - because it's one thing to shoot vlogs and another to know that people really like them 😍 We feel most comfortable in the north of the UK, but don't yet know where specifically!
Even if we don't drink beer much the Brewdog Doghouse Manchester was great - very ambient, with delicious food and in a great location!
Speaking of Indian food - Jay's mum cooks brilliantly, so we can easily taste the authentic flavours, but the food at ‘This and That’ was simply PHENOMENAL 💛
You missed 80% of Affleck's! You have to walk through the shop on the left on the 1st floor and it goes to another huge area with several other floors. You only saw the main staircase area!

Holy Jesus! I was very interested by your great video, so much so that I looked on the Brewdog hotel website for prices. For ONE night for 2 people was £330!! Seriously? Last month I had a week in Hurgada all inclusive for £700 per person (there were two of us).That included the flight! And it didn’t rain, and it was hot, and we were 100M from the Red Sea.

@@JayandKarolina i have watched every single video, even when you in our part of the world the northeast, we have booked to blackpool next month, its not great as it used to be, B and B are cheap, we were there last month, we didnt plan to well, the manchester place, omg god, and the price, i looked it up for 3 nights, is really great value, we are going to go, but cheapest parking we can fins so far is 18 pounds, bit expensive, as thats for 24 hours. we got blackpool, for 3 nights again for 108 and free parking, no breakfast tho room only, on suit, but a budget hotel
Excellent video guys! 😀 I really enjoyed it as I used to spend many days of my misspent youth buzzing around Manchester City centre exploring and it brought it all back to me again. Happy days! I only live 20 miles away now in High Peak Derbyshire, but not been there for many years. After watching this I really want to go back again. Another place which is great to see there is the Manchester University Museum with all the ancient Egyptian relics. They have revamped it all just very recently, so I bet it's a really cool place to visit now no doubt? Also If you go into that round Central Library building, they have got an elevator that goes horizontally, it's mad! Good ole Madchester, 🐝Nice one and looking forward to your next video. 😁

I didnt have any clue that those carvings were there under the seats, let alone how a guide would describe one as "piss in a bottle!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 he isnt holding back is he! 😂😂😂😂😂 THIS is what I love about my Home City, the humour!!

Manchester is definitely at the top of our list of cities in the UK, so we'll be back there soon - in fact, we're flying to China from MAN airport in the second week of September this year, so we've already planned on coming to Manchester for a day trip before we leave to spend some more time there 😍

Manchester is a superb city and I’m a Yorkshireman. I often walk from Worsley into the city along the Bridgewater Canal which is the last stretch you walked into Castlefields. I dislike Brewdog due to the CEO refusing his staff in London a £1 pay rise but fuck me that hotel looks good. Hate to say it.
Well you definitely visited the wrong football ground entirely there, but aside from that its a pretty good video .... i go in 'This and That' reguarly when i'm on a city centre pub crawl on a Saturday with the lads.
Fair enough haha ⚽️ We absolutely loved everything about "This and That" - the people, atmosphere and obviously the FOOD!

Manchester does have a bad reputation from other channels but the Cathedral looked nice and the man that showed you around Steve was very nice, The Curry place was nice not having to pay anything can you put a link to him in your comments. I am surprized you knew what a record player was. Please visit Tenby in Wales . Les adverts in the feed please was a little to much on this video did spoil the enjoyment a little.

Being guided by Steve was truly an incredible enrichment to our experience and general view of cathedrals in the UK! And all of Manchester had some amazingly preserved historical gems - The Rylands Library, The Viaduct etc.❤️
As you know, we slept pretty much in the city centre and had no safety issues. But there are always more suspicious people in big cities so I would just recommend being aware of it at any time...
