- Hi everyone! In this video I discuss how much it costs to live in Manchester, UK as a student. I know many of you are now receiving university offers and are faced with the huge decision of which university to choose, so I hope to make that decision a tiny bit easier for you if you are considering a Manchester university. Are there ways to cover living cost in Manchester by doing part time jobs while studying a Master’s?
Thank you for watching 🥰 and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Yes it’s definitely possible to work part time and it’s really encouraged. There are loads of part time job opportunities just within the campus itself. Apart from this we are very close to the city centre too and getting a part time job shouldn’t be difficult at all. I hope that helps! :)

Please can I get recommendations for accommodation close to Oxford road campus
Thanks for your comment! Pretty much all student accommodation at Manchester is near Oxford road and the furthest is probably only a 10 minute bus journey away. It would really depend on how close you’d like to be, what sort of people you would like to live with, whether you would want to share, have catering etc.

Hey, thank you so much for watching and for your comment. I’ve created the video using the official UOM website as the main source, and their page is up to date for students starting in Sept 2022. Therefore it should be up to date and there will not be much difference to the values I’ve mentioned in the video. ☺️

Hi, I’m a Doctor and planning to move UK for my masters. Will it be a good choice to choose university in Manchester? Is it easy to get job while studying? Even after finishing masters?
Hi, thanks for your comment. I’m afraid I’m not too sure about how easy it would be to do a job here as an international whilst also studying. To work as a doctor here you’d need to complete the PLAB. You may be able to study and work simultaneously, but both of these would need to be part time, and I’m not sure how easy it would be to organise this.

Omg, Manchester isn't a whole lot cheaper than London 😭. £3.50 for a single journey is extortionate and I love how you showed London buses.
🤣🤣🤣Literally all the clips I could find were of London buses😂😂also I guess that could be because in London there is so much more emphasis on using public transport and they incentivise it a lot more than here. What did you think about the other living costs? How similar is the overall living cost?
@@hibbear Well it still sounds expensive, student accommodation is tiny and costs about £650 a month in Manchester, which you can actually rent a room in a house for in London.

@@pashtun-travels-uk Apart from the cost of Renting and property, London and Manchester are very similar in prices. London bus fare is £1.65 for unlimited stops. The cost of food is nearly identical, plus in London, the wages are higher and that doesn't even really equate to cheaper food.
@@Jubair194 hey brother thanks for the really quick reply.. actually I've almost 2 weeks remaining to confirm my choice of city and have to choose between london, Manchester, Chester, liverpool, Glasgow and Newcastle. Coming with spouse and 2 year old..first time out of country so can not decide which city to choose from??

Hi, I have never lived, studied, or worked in or around Leeds so I’m not the best source of information for that! :)
I'm not a student , but my stepdaughter was a student in Leeds for four years, and she really enjoyed it .... most of students tend to live around the Headingley area of Leeds, and its neighbouring suburbs.
Is it easy to make friends there?
Yessss it certainly is. Everyone is really friendly!
Are you on strike?
Hi there, as medical students the strike action does not apply to our placements, however myself and all of my known colleagues are in complete support of the strikes and some will be present at the pickets :)
