Rhea Seehorn's acting is another level in this season while Bob Odenkirk giving his best as usual. This show really deserves more credit.
enes kütük
she's an alumni at the college I attend
When she showed up on the first episode, I gotta be honest, I had my reservation basing a show on a relationship. Many spin offs have been ruined by the character on a relationship. Kim Wexler not only is on par with Bob Odenkirk's performance as Saul Goodman, but many times IMO surpasses his character that completely thrilled with what will happen to her next. I've heard the producers talking about a spinoff with her and I hope that it happens. She is one of the best female characters to grace television IMO

Literally got tears when Jimmy foes "Oh God!" and covers his face. Their acting and chemistry on set is legendary!
Been there a few times myself, that one cut deep
Just wait until Fun and Games.
When she starts to talk about breaking up, you can see how his world Is falling apart, how painful Is for him to have her out of His life, how desperate he Is to maintain the relationship.
That's because he is so used to having this relationship rather than actually caring about Kim. A lot of couples go through that.
Serious Pony Oh but he does care about Kim. He’s literally in love with her
she makes him more human since she's the only one who sees good in him.
J He certainly doesn’t trust her. Doesn’t trust her with the details of his life and business, doesn’t trust her to handle herself in her case, doesn’t trust her to know what’s right for herself. He lies to her. A lot. A relationship is built on trust.
He may “love” her. But he sure as hell doesn’t respect her. That’s what this fight was about.
@@VideoGuy232 maybe because he's afraid of getting her involved in his troubles.
He's playing "Smoke on the water", just like he hummed at the end of season 1. Jesus, Jimmy 😒
Yeah, damn, I noticed this too. I think, he's doing it, because really thinks, that he won in this situation just like in the first season's ending scene. Also when he won with his commercials (if I remember this correctly, season 2 maybe) he was playing Smoke On Water on his new electric guitar lol
It really looks like a beginning of a real Saul Goodman
And the fact that he still plays it wrong really says a lot about his character. Great writing 👌
Ramy Tfaily funny how that song is like the easiest song to learn on guitar
I like how Smoke on the Water is such a significant song in this show
@@johnp.smithasimpleman7281 Yeah, I think this fact also plays a great role in writing - Jimmy goes the easiest way possible, does some tricks and thinks that he won, when in reality he still plays the song wrong, though it's a very easy song to play.
I love seeing Kim realize that if they get married, Jimmy can keep doing what he’s doing, while still having deniability because of marriage protections
Or Kim can keep doing what she’s doing, while still having deniability because of marriage protections.
They so about their business lol
@@LIVdaBrand and one more thing Kim has abandonment issues she doesn't wanna lose Jimmy like she lost her mother

This tops chuck's court scene. Hats off to Rhea and Bob.
Rhea deserves an Emmy for this scene and for the way she defends Jimmy from Lalo. She's portraying the dream wife that nobody deserves.

It will end. Otherwise, she would've been in BB
@@christiankarlkarganilla2763 We never see Saul's background in Breaking Bad. He makes a joke about Francesca's booty hinting that he wouldn't be with Kim but that about it.

Remember scene that saul prepare to go meaby after that scene will be get more detail in last season, meaby Saul go to see Kim to say goodbye.
If they made Kim becomes Skyler White 2.0, this series will be doomed
This is the point of no return.
When Jimmy revealed that his speech to get his license back was just for show, Kim was aghast not because of moral reasons (she herself had no qualms in employing sleaze and she also empathizes with Jimmy's dislike for his brother) but because it revealed to her that she had misread Jimmy. The real Jimmy is not the one in her head whom she defended in front of Howard. However, at that time there was still no fall out because despite everything, Kim still thought that she can put a handle on Jimmy, just as how she could make Jimmy go work at Davis and Mains, or how she can refuse Jimmy's help in scamming the Hispanic couple who insist on going to trial into taking the deal.
Now, Kim finally hits upon the realization that Jimmy is beyond her control. When she says "I can't trust you", she means that she can no longer reliably predict or alter Jimmy's behaviors. This is not the first time that Jimmy lies to her. But, this is the first time that Jimmy openly defies her. Kim most astutely realizes that unlike Jimmy Mcgill, Saul Goodman is his own man, whose set of values is dangerous and most importantly, impervious to her influence. This is the moment where Kim knows that she can no longer stop Saul. She can choose to walk away, or she can choose to embrace Saul for who he is. There is no more room for half measures, and Kim decides to go all in.
Nice writing.
This is the moment Kim becomes Saul

A really weird fact, is that chuck was right, but being right, he created Saul
@@josephvergarapamplona1578 yea chuck is kinda responsible for making jimmy go back to a life of crime. The proof was in the million dollars that him and Mike could've stolen. He put that back showing a log of growth, but by having chuck sabotaging his growth. It only pushed jimmy back to crime.
This episode was such an emotional rollercoaster omg. Such BRILLIANT writing

Who else is revisiting this after the s06e09 episode's ending😭😭😭
i was hoping she would've ask Jimmy to get married again on that ending, anything than what actually happened ):
I remember watching this episode and actually being scared this was their breaking-up point and being thankful to high heavens it wasn't.
And then... yeah. THAT episode happened. 😭😭😭
“I love you too… but so what?”
I live how Kim is fine with jimmy basically conning people as long as it's not her.
They’re poison for each other, & by the time they break up he goes FULL Saul
His "oh god!" felt like a punch to the gut 😭 I for sure thought these two were done here
It would’ve hurt less than a bullet to the head and endless guilt
You can see how it's all a game for him, when he asks her to do the voice
I saw it as him trying to make light of the situation. Basically trying to lighten up the mood a bit
@@jackduggan2432 Relatable, although he's totally inappropiate when he asks her to do the voice LOL
"Divorce HAHAHAHA"
The creators wanted the main idea of his character to always be that he is good at scheming. It is almost like an addiction for most of the show but he always stops himself. In this plot line Jimmy was the one that originally wanted to stop. But Kim pulled him back into the mud. He just couldn’t resist the temptation when Kim came back on him to shut down the finale with the commercials and the bank logo.
By the time we make it to the end of season 5 to the grand finale of Howard and Sandpiper you really see how far down the gutter these two are morally. It really was an addiction.
fun and games
Rhea looks like she's actually crying in real life how the hell she can fake that emotion? That voice crack... I actually fell sorry for her i wish i had a girlfriend like her and jimmy keeps lying to her thats why he ends up alone im BB, Jimmy is way too smart like Walter was, but their ego ultimately destroyed them... I seriously hope Kim doesnt get killed because of Jimmy, but i doubt it, cuz if that happens jimmy would be depressive in BB
Walt and Jimmy were meant to work together
@@johnp.smithasimpleman7281 That's the way Walt sees it. For Saul, meeting Walt was the point his entire world as Saul Goodman ended.
It’s not ego. He lies to Kim to shield her from his darkness, as in protecting her from his world, also because he’s afraid of getting judgement.

One of the best moments of the whole series. The acting is phenomenal. I'm a little obsessed with these two.
For sure. Me too
The only good thing Game of Thrones Season 8 brought was that BCS can finally win some damn awards.
Pray a lot.
😞
There’s still a lot of people who hold Breaking Bad in a high regard but skipped BCS thinking sequels/prequels are meant to fail. The creators arguably did a better job with this show than what BB.
I love how you can see Kim thinking about every possible option where her and Jimmy stay together and you can see the eureka moment
Kim kinda did the whole Mesa Verde thing to herself, especially getting Jimmy involved. She let the snake out of the cage and played and fed it. Then she forgot it was a snake a got bit.
She's an enabler and a follower.
Such a great show. The writing is next level.

Plus Jimmy even told her they should stop but she persisted on continuing
1:01 lol when Kim started rolling up her sleeves, who thought she was gonna turn around and deck Jimmy for a moment? XD
Him pleading with her not to break up reminds me of when Walt and Jesse took him out in the desert in BB.

This scene shows that Jimmy really loves Kim. He knew Kevin wasn’t going to listen to her. She realized that the next time they met and used it against him. The man is a mastermind.
It was the Point and Shoot episode that really sold it for me. Jimmy sending Kim off away from Lalo to run away or to be safe. One of the best love stories in modern media.
Incredible performance. The way Bob is on the verge of breaking down is tear jerking.
"Maybe we should get Married" brings a tear to my eye. Every time !
Their bond is so strong that Kim realizes there are only two paths for them, set Saul free to live and die for the chaos he provokes or embrace chaos and roll on the dirt together. At this moment she realizes that their fate together is a complete downfall, thus she quits S&C, Mesa Verde afterwards and decides to live for her pro-bono work. If she’s going down that road with Saul, better do it doing something meaningful with her life.

The Flower of Spades I disagree. The 5th amendment stops you from saying anything against your will. The flashback scene set up Kim’s toxic attraction to chaos. Overall, the show has been going downhill since Gus showed up.

Breaking Bad Season 5 Episode 6: "Everybody wins"
Better Call Saul Season 5 Episode 6: "Everybody wins"
"That's a lie. Look me in the eye and tell me it will never happen again. I don't believe you. You don't believe yourself. You lie. You know this has to change."
1. This kinda sounds like Chuck's last words to Jimmy.
2. This sounds like something that Kim wanted to tell her mother in the flashback that opens this episode.
Chuck said it. He said to Jimmy he was gonna hurts everyone around him. He said that his problem was that he has good intentions, but he thinks the end justify the means. He manipulates people to achieve things he considere good. But, in the process, he hurts people. In the beginning, Jimmy does everything for the people he loves, but not always in a legit way. Chuck was repulsed by it but also jealous of it, cause he loved the law. It was his life, and Jimmy didn’t respect it, but he always find a way to win either way. Kim thought that side of Jimmy was noble, even though she was not ready to go that route. In this moment, I think she realised that one of them would have to break, and she knew Jimmy would never change. She needed to be like him, cause their relationship wouldn’t last in another way. So, she chose to do good like him. She chose to think that the end justify the means. Like Chuck said in sesson 2, Jimmy « ruined this fine young woman ». In the process, they hurted people to do good. They wanted to ruin Howard’s career to give the sandpiper residents their money, but, in the process, got Howard assassinated. That was the last straw, so she left. Her leaving caused Jimmy to stop doing good for others and start doing good for him and no one else. He embraced the way his brother saw him. Kim never forgive herself for that, punishing herself. Jimmy tried to heal himself from that breakup the same way he did when Chuck died. He shut down himself. He shut down his emotions. A part of him, of his morality and of his heart went away when Chuck died, cause it was easier to shut down the to live his grief. He chose to self destroy. When Kim left, the rest of it went away.
This scene alone and the next episode's scene where Kim confronts Lalo should grant Rhea Seehorn a well deserved Emmy.

Every single time (if you know what I mean by EVERY SINGLE TIME)
i hope we get a scene this season where Kim tells him that although Chuck was a monster towards Jimmy he was right about certain things.
damn there is little Jimmy left there, he's all in on Saul
I've been waiting for the Chuck dig for years lol
The sad part is, these toxic parts of Jimmy that Chuck hated so much are only this strong now BECAUSE of Chuck. If you tell a man he's something frequently enough, he begins to believe you. And when Jimmy believes he'll always be Slippin' Jimmy, then he will. Jimmy had a chance to change, even tried to, but Chuck wouldn't let him, because he always needed to be better than his brother.
@@TD0150 He would have never become Saul Goodman had Chuck supported Jimmy
This is the best scene in the series so far. Amazing acting.
Love seeing how butthurt Kim was when she was the sucker. It doesn't feel that good ha? And she still pulled all the crap with Howard after that. She was a horrible person too, don't get played by her pro-bono work. Aker totally nailed her character in one sentence.
shut up hater!
He was totally wrong and angry because he didn't take care of business on his end.
For me here Jimmy made a really good move. And Kim shouldnt have been too furious about Jimmy's act to fight with Mesa Verde. Remember she was the one that asked for Jimmy's help and wanted to cross that line just because she feels bad of kicking Mr.Acker out of his home. In Kim's mind she may have cut corners and went out of ethics to justify her intentions of protecting Mr.Acker but from Jimmy's perspective it is no different from what he is doing. Thus when Kim wanted to abort the mission, Jimmy realized that by going againts her in front of Kevin and Rich is the only best way to eliminate all the suspicion. It was a win-win situation except for Kim reputation.
Less a romantic declaration and more a genius improv by kim. Sucker for that.
Why can’t anyone see it, Kim is devastated that Jimmy plays her, everything after the second she realized she’d been played was her looking out for herself. She knew Howard was coming and knew Lalo was coming. Howard dying wasn’t wrong place at the wrong time. What Jimmy’s betrayal does to Kim, her betrayal and his admiration of it makes him go full Saul. Does Kim survive? Definitely, she likely betrays Lalo possibly with a bullet through the head when he’s about to kill Fring. She is so much darker than people think. Lalo was impressed how she handled him. Someone was helping him get to and move around in ABQ. Kim doesn’t relocate because of Howard, it is because she makes a deal with Lalo that Jimmy doesn’t get hurt and she betrays Lalo. She may fake her own death and Gene knows she is out there through Ed somehow but has no idea what came of Lalo. Sorry folks, the only way this ties up in a neat package is if Kim is running a play, a big one. If you thought the last 10 minutes of episode 7 blew you away, the first ten of 8 will have you rewatching Kim scenes. You can see Rhea is holding a lot inside in her interviews and talking Saul. This should be epic!
this is a good theory, i just dont understand why kim wouldnt atleast inform jimmy or try to inform him through mike or someone else that lalo is dead before the events of breaking bad. I mean she knows how jimmy lays awake at night restless at the thought of lalo being alive
you over thought it
If she had broke up with him that day itself, Howard would still be alive
When I was first watching this, I genuinely thought Kim was about to depart from the show, because it’s late in the series.
Turns out the writers were just doing some trolling lol.
To decide like that to marry that dude, she must have had a rough childhood
The episode actually starts with a flashback of Kim's childhood, being first rejected by her mother while she's waiting for her after school to bring her home. When she finally arrives, it ends with a drunk mother, completely abandoning her daughter by telling her lies - again. Which makes the end so this episode we see here so much stronger. Jim is the only person who could hurt Kim like her mother, by being her. Jim acted toward's Kim like her mother did at the start of the episode. Which makes Kim's Character so much more tragic, because you see how Kim's relationship with Jim is the project of fixing her childhood trauma with her mother.
When she tells him maybe we should get married and the episode ended my jaw just dropped, kim that was the moment to run away dammit and you want to marry him? whats wrong with her?
spousal privilege = plausible deniability

Kim: get the hell outta here you and me were done!
Jimmy: We're done when I say we're done!
I initially found this scene confusing. While I lack expertise in legal matters, it is evident that these two individuals possess exceptional legal acumen beyond that of most lawyers. Opting to marry is as astute a decision as when Skyler chose to remain married despite the truth coming to light. The legal concept at play is known as "spousal privilege" or "marital privilege," offering substantial protection. This privilege encompasses testimonial and communications privileges. Skyler understood that by forgoing divorce, she could avoid testifying in court even if she had been complicit in Walt's illegal activities. Although the DEA could apply pressure through various means such as seizing her assets and tarnishing her reputation, she escaped imprisonment for her involvement with Walter White. After Walt disclosed Hank and Gomez's whereabouts, Skyler essentially struck a deal with a prosecutor to enter witness protection and start anew.
While not a carbon copy of Skylers' actions, Kim's decision exhibits her quick wit and problem-solving abilities. By marrying Jimmy, she secures protection against testifying and enables open discussions about their affairs without legal repercussions. In essence, through marriage, Kim commits to safeguarding both herself and Jimmy in the long run. Skyler's motive, on the other hand, was chiefly self-preservation as events spiraled out of control for Walter.
Rhea really needs an Emmy ffs

One fan theory of myself: From 4:35 on, Kim starts plotting against Jimmy. Nothing she does from then on is sincere. She wants revenge for being played like that. Meanwhile, Jimmy takes her for granted. In season 6, in a moment when he needs her the most, and blindly trusts her, she will do something to stab him in the back. They break up and the irreversible transformation from Jimmy to Saul is complete.
Hell no

Nico Autia, why would she have cared enough to see Lalo when Jimmy was missing if their entire relationship was insincere? There is nothing in Kim's character to suggest that she is vindictive - especially vindictive enough to quit a high paying job and marry someone.
