I love how much you're using the library! Reading can be such a scary expensive hobby and yet it's so healthy not only for mental health but for memory and learning but it's often inaccessible or people don't realize libraries aren't just for research anymore! I got Libby bc of booktube and while my local library often has fairly lengthy waits on libby it is fun when it pops up that a hold it's ready to borrow! I haven't gone to the library itself bc parking SUCKS and i prefer to read on my Kindle anyway. Anyway, keep up posting about the library bc it actually does send viewers to use it and it really ends up helping the community out as it's a way to "shop local" and help their budget and increase book availability and create jobs all without having to spend money (unless you return books late!).
THANK YOU for bringing up the Iron Flame font size.... I started to think I just had terrible vision!! But fr I would so much rather the book be 800+ pages with standard font size.

I’ve been struggling to finish Iron Flame since the 8th but I’m forcing myself to finish it because of the effort it took to find the sprayed edges 🤭 the sigh after finishing sword catcher was so relatable

😻 I swear, I could watch an hour long vlog just made up of clips of discovering Ginger under the covers. She's adorable.
I say don't overthink the reading vlog idea. Like, as a viewer, I'd prefer reading vlogs to be made up of books of the same genre because then I can skip a video if it's not a genre I'm interested in, but you'll get more views by reading a diverse set of books because there'll be a little something in there for everyone.

I am about 300 pages into Iron Flame and YES I am feeling the exact same 😞 which is a doggon shame 😂 Fourth wing was so fun! And with this one I have just been so bored.
I also felt the exact same about FBAA. With how the first two books were vs the third. 😅 I never continued on with the series after that
I love watching your weekly vlogs cause it’s like hanging out. I put them on while I’m reading a lot of the time and then end up just holding my kindle and watching the vlog. Not to be a total fan girl but I’ll basically watch any video you upload.
Also as a side note I think about Anna Beth frequently and I’m so happy she’s napping for the winter but I also miss tortoise content.

BTW finally found the bake at home products at my local Whole Foods. I was looking in the freezer section. But turns out our store keeps them in a mini freezer in the bakery section.

I am currently in a reading mood!!! I am finally gonna finish Our Violent Ends today. I also plan to hopefully finish The Herbwitch's Apprentice this week (it's super cute, kinda romantasy but doesn't have the vibes of the popular ones). School is kicking my butt yet I'm still standing.
I haven't read Fourth Wing yet but seeing how many people are not enjoying this sequel is entertaining me, ngl.

Aw man. I’m reading the physical book of Iron flame. It is a little boring until like 200-250ish pages then whoa…I’m loving it now. Maybe one day you’ll pick it up again. It reminds me of the first crescent city where you gotta just get through a couple hundred pages for it to pick up and be good.

I had to stop Iron Flame too...exactly where you did. But I was also mad that there are going to be 5, FIVE books in this series!!!! This is gonna be a 18 month to 2 year situation at best. Anyhow....then I picked it back up.....AWESOME!!!! Holy moly, now I'm glad there are gaps in these books. I was traumatized for the last 100 pages. I need time to process now. But keep going!!!!!!!!

I have a feeling that many many many copies of Iron Flame are going to be available at used books stores soon. I didn't buy it; waiting for library copy but also found the audiobook free on YT if I feel the need. So do your comments mean that while someone wanting a romantasy will be disappointment, someone who prefers political/epic fantasy will maybe be okay?
I actually prefer epic and politically driven fantasy, and I was very disappointed with this one because it wasn’t done well 😭
I just finished Assistant to the Villain and loved it. Im on book 2 of the Iron Druid Chronicles series and Im loving that too. Next is the 3rd book, then Bookshops and Bonedust. Hi Jake, its Lynnie in Phoenix 🙋

I will watch any video you upload! I love all your vlogs, they ways help me to unwind especially after a long and overwhelming day. Also I love seeing your fur babies, the love you have for them is beautiful ❤ Ginger is similar to my cat Bella, she loves a cuddle but still has the sass and attitude when she needs to use it. I also got my Bella a stocking for Christmas too, i couldnt walk past it 😅 I havent read Fourth Wing or Iron Flame, i find when the book is so popular i get scared to read it. I've seen a lot about the Gilded Cage, may have to add it to my ever-growing tbr 😅

Also this week my kindle app apparently had a mandated update and they messed up all my settings and all my downloads are gone and i was so upset!! 😢😢 thankfully i fixed my settings but not my downloads. Also i heard from a bunch of people that iron flame was not great i think the timeline was way way to rushed to try and stay with the hype.. and ill say it again DNFing is self care.. i was one of those people for years who woule not DNF because i was always afraid it would pick up or something amazing would happen or something only to force myself into a slump because i didnt dnf it..

I don't have issues with small print cause I can read very tiny print. Unless it's super tiny you need a magnify 🔎 lol . I do feel for people whom can't read small print . It's kinda ridiculous it should always be a good size font

A little rant based off you DNF'ing Iron Flame. I haven't read it yet (still need to read Fourth Wing but I have copies of both), but I hate how so many fantasy books, it's where I notice this trend most, are in dire need of editing. We shouldn't have to read 300 + pages for a plot point to show up. I love slice of life scenes and little build ups of character, but you should not have to get to 500 pages in for anything that actually moves the story forward to happen. No one should have to say 'it gets sooooo good in the last 100 pages' when you've spent X hours to get there. You mentioned the Blood and Ash series, and I have no idea why I read the 4 books because the last 2 books especially are so dang bloated. Publishers, please don't be afraid to edit your authors!
Omg I SOOOOO agree, I feel like there is this trend of fantasy books needing to be edited down so so badly.

Iron Flame was...bad. Is there a plot? Maybe, but I certainly can't find it. I think that unnecessarily long fantasy books are just in vogue at the moment, though I don't know why . And I agree that the writing style wasn't good
I think it needed sooooooo much editing. I’m convinced it would’ve been at least partially better if the turn around time hadn’t been six months tbh
Sorry you didn't like Iron Flame, I liked it although it is a bit more world info dumpy. I am still liking it, we'll see how I feel in the last third.

I've started listening to Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney on audiobook during the little time I have between my college classes. It's pretty good so far.
Olivia, you and your partner gifting each other books is so cute. I love seeing your videos every week. They always make me smile and are genuinely the best part of my stressful weeks.
I read The Remarkably Bright Creatures. I did enjoy it-the little mystery and the cute octopus. However, there are chapters where I'm like, What the heck is this? I won't spoil anything, but when you get to those chapters, you'll know what I'm talking about. I gave it a 4/5 because it's a good mystery with a lot of cute moments, and one of the main characters is an octopus. The writing does get interesting; I'll give it that.

Also was disappointed by IF - still had fun reading, but I got bored.. I just felt like it was a repeat of FW and felt unoriginal. And, considering there's 3 more books.. I wouldn't be mad if it takes longer to release book 3 to make sure it's well edited
