    My personal theory is Donaldson (like the rest of us) is frustrated that the Twins didn’t dominate the Tigers this series. Him seeing Arraez facing the outfield when the pitch could come in, meaning an outfield hit would not score a run, probably pushed Josh over the line a bit 😅

    • @sdaftermath123
      @sdaftermath123 3 года назад

      I don’t think he was looking In the outfield, I think he was looking to see where the 2nd base and short stop was.

      @@sdaftermath123 he already talk about this in an interview he say he was looking in the outfield and Donaldson was telling him that pay attention to the game, after that arráez told him that it’s not the moment to do that in the way he did it, that should be on the clubhouse ant not in the middle of the game

    It looked like Arraez was taking his time with his leadoff and wasn't even ready. The pitcher was about to windup to throw the ball and Arraez was still facing center field. Donaldson seemed to say "Let's go" like get your head in the game.

    • @codyfox2023
      @codyfox2023 3 года назад +9

      I agree, that's exactly what I was seeing. I think Josh is saying don't be getting cute or cocky, pay attention and do your job. To me the discussion in the dugout didn't look like a big deal, later though, if they were still chatting in the tunnel, that might be bigger.
      This isn't that uncommon, it's a long grueling season. Plenty of frustration around too.
      If Donaldso is saying get your head in it, I think its great. We need that veteran, pushy presence. A spark.

    • @anthonyr8253

      @@codyfox2023 Well said both of you. I agree that the issue seemed to stem with the fact that Arraez had his back turned during the start of the pitch (could cost Twins a run or Arraez could just get drilled with a line drive), and during his at bat I think Donaldson just said "Let's go" as if to encourage Arraez to pay attention. As Cody said it's a long season, these things tend to happen from time to time, seemed like a fairly civil dispute.

    • @JWickyJr13

      That was my takeaway too. Sure the sight line thing but Donaldson could hurt Arraez if the dude wasn’t paying attention potentially.

      What could be so important in center field that he has his back to the play? He should already know where the defence is aligned and be 8-10 feet off the bag in his leadoff "crouch"

      @@mazdacosmo7816 A simple reminder that the Minnesota Twins finished in last place in the AL Central in 2021, which was their seventh losing season in the 12-year Target Field era. So once again, we as Twins fans get to hope for the umpteeth time that the Twins team will be "100 percent prepared" for spring training in February 2022.
