It’s a miracle Jordan Walden’s elbow never snapped with all that jerking last minute torque he was putting on it. I cringe every time I see his mechanics and I bet a bunch of sports doctors did too.
I was waiting and hoping Juan Marichal would be in this. He is. With his whoppingly high kick. Very cool looking. I remember trying to pitch like him. But pitching that way takes a lot of time. So base runners can do.... And that high kick didn't (for me) add much speed, and worsened control. Looked cool though.
Jason Isringhausen should have been here. I remember him having his own funky way of setting his lead foot down that threw off many batters' timing. It's as if he's setting his lead foot down TWICE in the same pitching movement - the best way i could describe it. As for pitchers that are still active & pitching today, Nestor 'The Molestor' Cortes has his own way of odd movements designed to mess up hitters & their timing.
Could we include Al Hrabosky, or Mark "The Bird" Fidrych? They had very unusual, weird pitching styles. Hrabosky would get ticked off, walk off the mound a bit, and punch into his glove in anger, before walking back to the mound. Fidrych would actually talk to the baseball.
I used to enjoy watching Gaylord Perry going through all his mind games, suggesting that he was loading up the ball with a foreign substance from the bill of his cap, or licking his fingers. The batter would swing and miss, the catcher would let the plate umpire inspect the ball to see there was nothing on it, and Mr. Perry would smile and do it all again before the next pitch.
5:30 is so dope, I love how the ball is travelling nearly directly away from the camera and stays in one place. Really boosts up the intensity.

he is at 7:35 it's just that uploader didnt put his name in there
Perfect mechanics IS weird, in the truest sense.
Justin Brock snarfadoodle nevermind, idk how I missed him.
I don't know why but Japaneese players have the coolest windups.
It goes back to karate ninjas.
Because of anime 😂
Dontrelle Willis Looking like a Gymnastics Dude LOL!
Alex wood probably has to have the weirdest delivery it's so uncomfortable like if he wasn't left handed.
Looks like hes going to have a lot of shoulder and elbow issues.
V
It was weird
such like he is drunk
Well he is 7-0 with a 1.90 ERA this year (2017) so he must be comfortable.
Glad to see Marichal included here.
Fun fact: up until Pedro Martinez got in there, Marichal was the only Dominican in the HOF.
javixm Thanks for the fact
I was waiting and hoping Juan Marichal would be in this. He is. With his whoppingly high kick. Very cool looking. I remember trying to pitch like him. But pitching that way takes a lot of time. So base runners can do.... And that high kick didn't (for me) add much speed, and worsened control. Looked cool though.
0:31 is the monty python silly walks version of baseball
Hideki Okajima had a weird as hell head-move when he'd pitch. It was almost inhuman lol.
not look pitching
Jason Isringhausen should have been here. I remember him having his own funky way of setting his lead foot down that threw off many batters' timing. It's as if he's setting his lead foot down TWICE in the same pitching movement - the best way i could describe it.
As for pitchers that are still active & pitching today, Nestor 'The Molestor' Cortes has his own way of odd movements designed to mess up hitters & their timing.
3:36-4:31 how is any of that weird
All I see is a little sidearm. Idk what else I'm missing
maybe the leg? idk
What is weird is the catchers nails at 4:17
Brady Kent i'm pretty sure they do that so it's easier for the pitcher to get the pitch call
@@Blue-.- i never event thought about that
You missed Charlie Leibrandt, and you included guys who simply throw side arm. WTF?
Not exactly, they missed Terry Leach of the Mets.
And Leibrandt didn't even have the weirdest motion of the Royals' rotation. How about Mark Gubicza, landing on his knee after each pitch.
Yea it's like if you don't throw overhand then your pitching style is wired
Carter I argue overhand is the weirdest, the mechanics they want borderline on injury, I swear
Mark Fidrych entertained by talking to the ball. Al was "The Mad Hungarian" if I'm not mistaken.
I'll never forget Nomo's windup
For some of these pitching styles, I wonder how they keep their balance it’s very impressive lol
Perry would smile and do it all again before the next pitch.
i dont know why but that double leg kick motion is really satisfying
Man... the whole thing about Luis Tiant is that he would wiggle his glove up and down for about a minute before he went into that wind up!
Yes, when he pitched from the stretch with runners on base.
You gotta add Luis Garcia with his fuckin baby rocking salsa wind up.
Forgot Fernando Valenzuela looking up to the sky lol
