I agree, but I find Dallas to be much cleaner than Miami! Also, I agree with you, although DFW is a huge place with a lot of nice cities, the nightlife has to go to Miami. Dallas is a more conservative, family-oriented place. It is a place for people who want to advance with their careers and work for a big corporation or start their own business, etc. Dallas is business friendly place, Miami is more into tourism.

I recommend people need to know Florida is one of those states like California don’t come there thinking it’s the place to struggle and strive at all. Florida isn’t the home for middle class or working class or poverty class, people come to do it anyways. I recommend coming there when you already have a set career making well over six figures with notches under your belt or have your business already successful that have been scaled up then you could move to Florida.

With that said, I see it more of a vacation spot. Go their to turn up, enjoy the beaches, etc and then leave! Could you live there? Yes, but it’s usually either really young people looking to party or retirees. Once the younger people get a little older and ready to settle down, they move somewhere like Dallas.

Miami is amazing if you have money. Prices have increased substantially in Miami. When I moved to Brickell in 2017, I was paying $2450 for a large 1 bedroom, in 2022, that same apartment is $4400. There's substantial demand to live in Miami. One important thing is that while housing is high, you save money by not needing a car if you live in Brickell, Downtown or SoBe.

Unfortunately Miami is not kind to black people. It’s something I’ve noticed living here my entire life. I’m of Mexican descent and I speak fluid Spanish. If you’re Latino you definitely experience some brown privilege here.
Women also have a much different experience here compared to men. They are definitely harassed and this has made Miami women harder to date or approach amongst other reasons.
Saying hi to strangers takes a self starter lol people won’t go out of their way to say hello but they do say hello back if you say it first. It’s just that we’re kind of used to people being assholes 😂
Overall I love this city and I’m considering moving elsewhere, but in my travels I have not found a place to call home yet.

They hate big cities in Florida because it’s expensive and the jobs are there but you need to have a well paying career with experiences or certifications to live well. If not you’ll be struggling making $15.00-17.00 hourly while a single one bedroom in a nice safe area is $1,400-$1,900 a month or working 3 jobs with other side hustles to get by if you don’t already have a greta background or set career or successful business.
It’s that simple. Florida is diverse and not only about the night life or partying or having around toxic people unless you’re heavily into that mess. It’s a beautiful place to live and meet all races of people then also there’s hurricane season yearly from June-December. That’s why they all stay in between. The ones who are happy mostly have a good income to live happily or a set job that’s up there in income.
People will go through a struggling life in Florida in big cities to live there but don’t wanna admit this expensive in rent like hell. I’m a south Floridian native. Florida isn’t home for the working class trying to build or poverty class. They’re for the upper middle class to wealthy it’s that simple. You’ll be roommating or running rooms off Craigslist forever if you don’t get a college degree in a in demand field there or set business. I dislike people lying, if you’re making $10,000k a month of course you’re not gonna worry about the prices but that’s not the average person in Florida.

I often see people who move to Miami quickly find out that the paradise part ends after 6 months to a year. Spanish is the official language here so learn it or get left behind lol. If you're into the nightlife then Miami is the spot but make sure you have a whole lot of money because it's expensive to live here. Most locals are moving out of Miami because of the cost of living and low wages so there are a lot of businesses understaffed. Miami folks aren't friendly, so keep that in mind. Traffic is a mess because of the influx of people moving here. Can't forget about the road rage😂😂 Homelessness has gotten real bad in the past few years. Living in Brickell looks good until there's heavy rain and you wont be able to leave the area because it's flooded. If you have a jetski then I highly recommend Brickell. If not, your precious vehicle will be submerged. Imagine paying $3k and up in rent to live in an unstable environment. Hurricane warnings are apart of life here so make sure to prepare early or else people will be on demon time. There's plenty of pros The beach, restaurants and shopping but I do not recommend😊

Thoughts on austin Texas? Fort Lauderdale if you’ve visited?

    • @Fourwindsofsuccess
      @Fourwindsofsuccess Год назад +4

I’m a Fort Lauderdale, FL native. I attended broward public schools. I spent my life in Sunrise, Oakland Park, Hollywood, Davie, and Pembroke Pines, Miramar, and West Park. It has cities within cities, it’s not a small place. You have the browsed county buses as well but the central terminal is filled with homeless people and whackos.
Then you have North Lauderdale with Coral Springs, Pompano, Coconut Creek, or Tamarac. You also have Plantation area to. Just avoid the hoods there and you’re good.
I know Fort Lauderdale like the back of my hand . It’s similar to Miami but more cleaner and safer. It’s a democratic city not liberal or conservative. It’s all races there to and I rarely experienced racism growing up never truly did. Not saying it don’t exist but I never truly encountered that and hand friends of every race growing up.
That’s my hometown which I just left. It’s expensive as hell and I won’t lie to people to sell them this fantasy of living on the beaches. Remember Florida is in the Hurricane zone to and flooding zones. Especially, South Florida. I lived through Hurricane Charley, Irma, and Wilma. Fort Lauderdale get hits with category 5s hurricanes most of the time or 4s; so you will experience a hurricane or tropical storm or flash floodings as well if you live there. You will experience the hot Sun then heavy nasty rains that’s strong with winds or thunderstorms that causes flooding depending on where you live.
They don’t come yearly but the hurricane season is from June to December. So you got to be prepared for it even if it don’t come at all.
I tell you this it’s not the city to build a life, it’s the city to come with your life already set and financially secure. Have your degrees with an education extensive background in a career path or have a really good six figure business that’s established or a really good passive income that’s making you big money to live good.
It’s that simple. If not you’ll be working multiple jobs to survive, surviving isn’t living. Jobs mostly pay $14.00-$16.00 or $15.00-$18.00 hourly to where the rent is in the thousands unless you rent a room off Craigslist. It’s also not a place to be homeless or falling on hard times to come up. People need to know this and I’m a true Floridian who could explain that. Most of my relatives struggled badly there financially or just stayed there roughing it out with no true set career path. It’s the state when you make it, then you can live it up.

I think its pretty accurate. I've lived in Texas before, from NYC and currently in Tampa. I fucking hate Florida, dirty, huge issues with insurances and rates and everything else, but the number one factor I hate is the people. My god, I've been across most of the US and Florida by far has had the worst drivers and worst people on average. I cant wait to leave...

Hey I have a question! I’m coming down from PHILLY to visit Dallas and don’t know anyone there. Should I rent a car from enterprise or I should just Uber? I’ll be there for 3 days doing site seeing. I’m really hoping to enjoy myself even though I’ll be solo and get some good food.

@@dejohnnelacy254 Nothing wrong at all. Miami and Ft Lauderdale because of the nature of the environment(climate) and tourism offer abundant opportunities for you to make serious cash, and meet people. Check Brickell the new tech hot spot and Las Olas in Ft Lauderdale. I cant speak for Dallas.

It is. I’ve seen people hate other places to lie to say Florida is less. Nah. Florida is a second California. You can live there as long is you have a upper middle class income to wealthy that’s it. It’s not home for those trying to build their lives up and start a new beginning. You need come there with big bucks or rich or have a successful business. Florida isn’t some grinding city or else you’ll be stressed out. Some people can do it but not the majority are bossing up there, people come there already well off or successful or have high paying corporate jobs with certifications.
