You speak the truth! I lived in Dallas for many years, finally decided I needed some natural beauty and better weather and came back home to California. I always said that the best thing about Dallas was great shopping, great food, and two great airports to get you the hell out of there! If you have to pick your poison, I picked natural beauty and bad government/politics over ugly landscape and terrible weather but good politics. Hard choices in life sometimes.

I was born and raised in Southern California. I disagree with you. While I do miss the beach & mountains. The traffic SUCKED!!! it took me 2 hours each way to get to work when my job was just 30 miles away in CA. Also my rent for a 4 bedroom pool home in CA was $5000/mo vs $2800/mo in Dallas for a much larger gorgeous home! My job was better too and included a lot of travel all over the world. The schools are better in Texas also. I think it depends on your job and where you live. I live in a suburb of Dallas near a gorgeous lakefront home. I wouldn't want to go back to CA if you paid me!

Stay away from the Devil’s Triangle. I’m talking about the interstates connecting Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, with Austin throw in there. The commerce traffic just gets worse by the minute, and creates all kinds of traffic jams. Virtually 24/7. Three major Interstate highways meet in downtown Dallas. I-35, I-30, and I-45. And I-20 is just a few miles south of downtown. All of the traffic and congestion is making Dallas into a 3rd world big city. Virtually no nature to enjoy because everything is being covered by concrete and buildings. The highway system was never built to handle the traffic that exists today in Dallas. And I would bet it’s not much better in the other cities in the Devil’s Triangle. 😱😫
