Dallas is great, albeit extremely crowded. The jobs are abundant and easy to come by. The city has rail, and looks cleaner overall. The drivers are horrid, but the freeways are abundant. The skyline shimmers, especially at night, and downtown is lively on weekends. SA is great for different reasons. The city looks a bit messier, but is dramatically more scenic. The hills are breathtaking. It's also close to Austin making the area look and feel like a tech hub of California. Its common to work in Austin making big bucks while living in SA. The jobs are also plentiful in town, but seem to pay less. If Dallas has the jobs, SA has the things to do after work. The shopping districts, SeaWorld, outdoor hiking, the food....it's amazing. Downtown shines at night and the attractions there make the city center lively everyday. The drivers are slower because the freeways are a lot less abundant so you couldn't speed if you wanted to. Both have urban, rural, and suburbs for anyone. Dallas has 4 seasons, SA has spring, summer, and 2 weeks of Fall. It's much hotter and susceptible to catching the remains of tropical storms from Houston. Hot, heavy, steamy rain isn't a surprise in August through November. Whichever you choose, you won't be disappointed. Dallas feels modern, hectic and calm at the same time. SA is its own vibe full of culture, skateboards, bikes, community, and laid back feels. Tourism is high so it speeds up the pace. Be prepared for traffic each city. Either is a great choice. (Lived in both) I think SA is actually meaner though.

I’ll cut to the chase since I know both these wonderful cities very well. If you’re single and ready to mingle, no matter what age you are, move to Dallas because not only are the club options way better, the people are waaaaaaay better looking. But if you’re already married and have kids, or looking to have kids, I would move to San Antonio because it is way calmer, less congested, they have everything you will ever need, and like this host just said, everybody is so laid-back that even the traffic jams are calm.

If it’s going by city proper, SA may have a bigger economy because it’s city limits stretches much further out than Dallas which is why San Antonio proper population is larger. Metro Dallas is the much larger Metro and those numbers are leaving out very large swaths of population. I’ll give you an example of what I’m saying. SA city population is around 1.4 million, but the metro population is around 2.5 million. Dallas city population is around 1.2 million while the metro population is over 7 million. This is how statistics can fool you!

If anyone wants to know the real comparison between both cities, just read my post and do not worry too much about other posts. I will give you the cold truth. Compared to San Antonio, Dallas looks like a vibrant, developed place. San Antonio is a large city with quite a few people, but it is unbelievable quiet. It you dream of the most quiet, sleepy city of the USA, where the cost of living is low and the people are extremely nice, go to SA. The river walk is amazing, there are a few touristic spots in SA. Dallas is part of a huge metropolitan areas with some of the most beautiful, prosperous and amazing cities of the USA. Such as Plano, Frisco, Irving, McKinney, Arlington, Fort Worth, Addison, Richardson and I am not even mentioning the rich suburbs of Dallas etc. So do not let anyone fool you, there is no comparison. Even Austin and Fort Worth look more vibrant than SA.
