This is legit giving me old school Cartoon Network vibes. I remember the countdown to CN going live, and all those old shows back in the day like Down with Droopy D. This is giving me those feels and I gotta say, those feels feels GOOD!
Other fun facts: 1. Henry Hawk was part of the inspiration for Scrappy-Doo 2. George Lucas had select theaters play “Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century” before the original Star Wars film
Hi , 1965 here . I watched lots of these shows on regular TV when I was a kid , and I was there when Cartoon Network started on cable . And when CN went to heck , I had a local version named Tooncast that keep me happy for a lot of years. Now I hope I can get this new channel here on my country . I want to laugh again with these shows , asI laughed here with you on this video . :D
I love they are giving backgrounds to these cartoons, this is giving such great respect to these classics and the artists behind them. I can't wait for this to get started, a channel full of 24/7 cartoon classics is something I always wanted in my life.
What drew me to Nickelodeon back in the day were the behind the scenes voice over sessions in between commercials, I'm glad that some form of that is coming back.
You say this and it had me thinking about GaS.... no not That gas, lol. "Games and Sports" from Nick that was on cable for years before going ker-put on a few cable providers. That was my absolute go-to channel for kid-friendly game shows back then. Sorry I'm rambling and flashing back for a moment~
We need a launch day live stream of Andre watching MeTVToons 😄. We were raised at the greatest time for children’s entertainment, because we had it all on television.
I agree, please do a watch along on launch day. They the thing is I don't know if you have to get it as a separate channel or if it's free for everybody but definitely I would love to watch Andre watch watch old cartoons and kick it with him too.
Bro! This took me back to memory lane. I thought, I was the only one who would remember “The Dot and The Line.” Thank you Andre and MeTV Toons for presenting us these classic cartoons in this modern age.
These promos are actually addicting. They're like the ones Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network used to have in the 90s (or maybe still do have. I haven't watched them in years).
Very happy to see MeTV Toons go through the efforts of having their own shorts to help strengthen the identity of the network. Bumpers, promos, shorts are becoming a lost art form that still have their strengths. These feel like they had a touch of ToonHeads to them which is also great! Next, I hope to see them get festive with the holidays as well.
Look at METV Cartoons doing what Cartoon Network has been lacking for well over a decade now. Definitely checking it out once it premieres. Finally gives me a reason to watch tv again xD
I can not wait to see this channel when it launches. The fact that What's Opera, Doc?, Duck Amuck, One Froggy Evening and Popeye the Sailor Meets Sindbad the Sailor, all of which are in the National Film Registry, will be part of it makes me yearn to be like a child again.
@4:46 the fact that we started dancing to the Speed Racer music at the same time HAHA that's why I love this channel! I had the biggest smile on my face when that tune started up!
It's crazy how some these are about to be 100 years old still look so damn good. I hope Tom & Jerry's "Snowbody loves me" gets shown. My mom and I used to watch it every Christmas on CN when I was a little kid.
So you helped launch this new channel? My daughter and I thank you!!! We love old cartoons!! Tom amd Jerry w the baby duck is our collective fave!! We are anticipating the launch like waitimg for xmas. This is awesome.
A Cartoon College show could be like Pop-Up Video on VH1. During the show, they could pop up facts, and in between, they could do the bits with the voiceover. I think that would be pretty cool.
I got an OTA antenna just for this. I don't even watch TV these days but this is so cool. The channel is already up and just says coming soon😊. I love these historical pieces! They are beautifully crafted and short which is very smart of them. Fun!!!!
I gotta say; this is really really good stuff. I didn’t know any of this and I have been watching those cartoons for almost 42 years. That was so nice and so cool that MeTV allowed you to have the honor of showing these clips to us. That was really really cool of them to do that! They definitely made a viewer out of me. These are people that definitely care about the cartoons and are fans first. That’s what I like about them.
This is FANTASTIC!! I really hope they keep this going. MeTV is hit a grand slam with this one. I love historical facts and BTS about classic cartoons! Pete Puma is one of my absolute favorites. That wheeze still gets me every time!😂 Your Tom scream was on point! I was not ready!😁 ...and it's so GREAT to finally see Freakazoid again!!
I'll be watching MeTV Toons on Frndly since they won't be in my area OTA, but that's okay, Frndly has some other content I'd like to access anyway! Thanks for the coverage Nerd!
The Freakazoid bit was a parody of the opening of the Bob Clampett cartoon, Beany and Cecil. They parody the song as well as the part where Cecil the Sea Serpent licks the face of his pal Beany Boy and an animated Bob Clampett. The two being hand puppets is a reference to the original incarnation of Time for Beany which was a puppet series.
I REALLY love all of this! This would honestly be the only channel I have my TV on if I had a basic cable plan lmao Theres just something about retro cartoon hijinx and acme violence that is so refreshing to just have on in the background or on the TV for HOURS
those definitely remind me of the sorta thing cartoon network aired in the early days, so cool to see them include stuff like that on metv toons! gonna have to find a way to see it when it launches sounds like a lot of fun stuff on there.
It'll be so nice to have a channel like this again and I hope it's easily accessible. I was born in the 80s and so many Gen Xers and boomers are surprised at some of the shows I know, but Cartoon Network used to mix it up with much older shows too. This really sounds like what Boomerang was supposed to be. I'm definitely going to be catching some of those 60s puppet based shows when I have insomnia on a weekday
I have a feeling my dad is going to enjoy this channel! He still loves these cartoons from all these different decades! He's never stopped loving cartoons
Love this!! I didn’t have cable growing up & was jealous of the occasional behind the scenes special Cartoon Network would do. Even tried to have a buddy record it on VHS only for him to hit pause on the educational segments but kept the shorts. Ha! Can’t wait!
MeTV Toons seems like a network for people wh appreciate cartoons not just as entertainment, but as an art form. Andre was a perfect candidate for promoting this.
I agree, Andre, on the biography of the creator and their work. It's kinda of crazy that current Oscar makes some comments about Animation just for Kids. Despised that animation is all age group with some have a warning sign and some of them are beautiful drawing, lovable characters, and compelling narrative with theme that the creators and the team put in time.
I love the idea for this channel. Sadly being overseas I can’t watch it but it’s really a great idea. I hope enough people tune in so it keeps going. Love classic cartoons, especially Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes.
I think this will be a hit and i know it will bring more viewers through word of mouth and showing these shorts will want make you want to watch all the shows so you will be glued to your tv like back in the 90s when kid me was😁
For Metv toons I’m hoping they show a lot of 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s cartoons. The really old stuff is good too but I don’t want Metv toons to be just another Boomerang either
Loved those. If they pursued them (especially Cartoon College) I could definitely see plenty of sponsorhip opportunities for the spots for extra revenue
The Freakazoid Quick Schicks was a reference to Bob Clampett's "Beany and Cecil" (the Seasick Sea Serpent) . So, is MeTV going to show that show as well. (It was sort of the Animaniacs of its time. Very referential to its time)
It'd be so nice if they could air the original Toon Heads episodes along with these. I mean they're just sitting around somewhere, not being shown. So why not?
in case you wanna know who's the voiceover for metv toons... that's the dude who voiced porky the pig, bob bergen
Sounds like he's trying to do "We have spongebob at home."
Should’ve been Jeff bergman again
Bob Bergen used to give voice acting lessons and I was a student, and he was a genius at what he does.
Awesome
Looks like Verizon FiOS doesn't carry MeTV Toons.
This is legit giving me old school Cartoon Network vibes. I remember the countdown to CN going live, and all those old shows back in the day like Down with Droopy D. This is giving me those feels and I gotta say, those feels feels GOOD!
Wow, before the launch of the channel! 😀👍🏽
Yeah, they really appreciate my videos and all of your wonderful comments excited for the channel, so this was a kind gesture on behalf of them!
Other fun facts:
1. Henry Hawk was part of the inspiration for Scrappy-Doo
2. George Lucas had select theaters play “Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century” before the original Star Wars film
Get out of here I didn’t know that. That’s so cool! I didn’t know any of that.

Imagine clássics of Cartoon network
@@gabriellogrado4488 I never had cartoon network growing up😭
Hope they play some Tex Avery. "The House of Tomorrow" was perfect!
Or "Rockabye Bear". One of the funniest cartoons ever!
Or Magical Maestro.
Or Symphony in Slang
Who killed who
They've played those episodes on Toon In With ME (which is on METV's main channel), so I don't see why not
What drew me to Nickelodeon back in the day were the behind the scenes voice over sessions in between commercials, I'm glad that some form of that is coming back.

I love how that Freakazoid segment pays homage to Bob Clampett's Beany & Cecil, and even has cameos by Rodan and a Mothra larvae.
These promos are actually addicting. They're like the ones Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network used to have in the 90s (or maybe still do have. I haven't watched them in years).
MeTV Toons - Please make the channel worldwide. Such a channel has an audience all over the world.
Very happy to see MeTV Toons go through the efforts of having their own shorts to help strengthen the identity of the network. I am glad that the METV crew loved your video and gave you a sneak peek.

You and I started the shoulder shimmy at the same time when the Speed Racer theme came on! 😂
You can't help it. That song just does that to you.
@@BlackNerdComedy so to sing a long too.

same here! OH the nostalgia!
Finally, a college that I can graduate from!

I might subscribe to Frndly for MeTV Toons alone!
The Freakazoid bit was a parody of the opening of the Bob Clampett cartoon, Beany and Cecil. So basically Cartoon College and Quick Shticks will basically be the commercials to learn some shit about classic cartoons lol 😂
I REALLY love all of this! This would honestly be the only channel I have my TV on if I had a basic cable plan lmao

I totally remember "The Dot and The Line". That takes me back.
It would be great if they showed "The Car of Tomorrow" and "The House of Tomorrow".
Thank you, Andre. this is so cool I am happy the network reached out to you!
Thank you for mentioning “Toon Heads”. I loved that show. I have been trying to find it, but can’t find it anywhere.
I love the idea for this channel. Sadly being overseas I can’t watch it but it’s really a great idea. I hope enough people tune in so it keeps going. Love classic cartoons, especially Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes.
That was so cool. I love this extra kind of content. I'm getting more excited for MeTV Toons by the day. Thanks for sharing.
Cartoon College reminds of Stay Tooned, a show Tony Robinson hosted on BBC1 where he also looked at the history of cartoons, that was quality.
I’m looking forward to MeTV Toons, or Boomerang 2.0
Same!
Wow! It looks like they're actually giving animation the respect that Cartoon Network USED to give to it!
Had to rescan my tuner today and it now picks up MeTV Toons! It's just a loops of promos, no programming yet, but the signal is now live.
I LOVE everything about this. I want MeTV Toons here in the UK so bad.
This looks so cool!! I'm sad that it looks like my area won't be getting this channel on my antenna but hopefully someday!
cartoon college is like Toon Heads from Cartoon Network in the 90s
I think this will be a hit and i know it will bring more viewers through word of mouth and showing these shorts will want make you want to watch all the shows so you will be glued to your tv like back in the 90s when kid me was😁
I got frindly TV just for the channel! Also looking forward to freakazoid and all the other obscure hits!
You talk of "Taking it back"
and you took Me back with the 'Outie five thousand!' You know what was missing from that, riiiight? BWOMP!
well, I dont need to watch any other channel ever again. I love Me-TV and Me-TV Plus. I cant wait for Me TV Toons!
I love MeTV. I really enjoy good cartoon interstitials.
Dude it's like I'm 9 again thank you metv for bringing back Saturday morning cartoons.
man that tom scream impression was really good actually hahaha
Yo, this is awesome! Shout out to MeTV for doing this!
Me TV. If you read this. Make Andre a host on a hour special introducing cartoons
Oh the "Cartoon College" is awesome, I didn't know all those facts! :o
For Metv toons I’m hoping they show a lot of 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s cartoons. The really old stuff is good too but I don’t want Metv toons to be just another Boomerang either
The Freakazoid Schtick was based on the old Beany and Cecil Cartoon intro 🙂
Nice to hear Bob Bergen as the Cartoon College teacher. 😁
Loved those. If they pursued them (especially Cartoon College) I could definitely see plenty of sponsorhip opportunities for the spots for extra revenue
These are great, but my all time favorite cartoon interstitial will always be "Whiners Can Be Losers". "SOLOMON GRUNDY WANT PANTS TOO!"
MeTv Toons will be a hit from launch day!
The Freakazoid Quick Schicks was a reference to Bob Clampett's "Beany and Cecil" (the Seasick Sea Serpent) . So, is MeTV going to show that show as well. (It was sort of the Animaniacs of its time. Very referential to its time)
Call you say Toon heads? I really can't wait for the rest of this cartoon roster.
André you need to do a watchalong when it airs!
Anyone remember "The Bear that wasn't?" Great cartoon and very insightful.
MeTV has played that before on Toon In With Me. Will likely play it again on one of their blocks.
I love these segments that are gonna be added on MeTV Toons!! I’m very looking forward to watching all of these when MeTV Toons releases!!😃😃😃
I am so excited for MeTv Toons
Andre you are the best promoter for this new channel. I could listen to you all day. Your enthusiasm is contagious.
I’m so glad Frndly TV will be streaming this since MeTV Toons will only be available in certain markets at first.
OMG, I didn’t know the Two Mouseketeers was an Oscar winning cartoon. That was one of the first Tom & Jerry clips I watched on VHS in the early 2000s.
I wish they had all of these available to stream. 😢
6 days, guys!
8:41 Maybe it's me, but that Freakazoid ditty is a pastiche of Beany and Cecil with Steven Speilberg in the Bob Clampett role.
Time to petition to get Andre on the network. Do an animated version of Andre who hosts.
I hope they do that stuff with the Gerry Anderson shows.
I'm going to watch the heck out of this channel. So excited.
Man I wish that I could pick this up with an antenna on a portal tv., all I need is this channel, I’d fear no power outage.
MeTV Toons will be premiered on Tuesday June 25th on Philo.
I was thinking Toon Heads when watching the Cartoon College too! I'm gonna love that.
as a person who grew up with most of these cartoons this was really cool to see and yes that lumps gag is still super funny!
MGM cartoon are my favorite. That yelp from Tom 😂!!
Yes, Cartoon College & Quick Shticks!!
It'd be so nice if they could air the original Toon Heads episodes along with these. I mean they're just sitting around somewhere, not being shown. So why not?
Them doing the history of this stuff is really cool!
Happy Juneteenth, Andre!
i hope they talk about and with some of the voice actors from back then as well
I need to either adjust my antenna or get a new one so I can get MeTV Toons.
We love you Andre. You're so animated. See what I did there.🤔🤣😂
Just 5 days to go until the launch of Cartoon Network 2.0 (MeTV Toons).
First we're getting Toonami Rewind and now this.
dam i aint never been this hype to see cartoons lol especially go bots this is dope
MeTV Toons on June 25th, it's Christmas in June! and it's also halfway to Christmas!
