Warner has WAAAYYY too many good projects that have been scrapped all for tax right off purposes. Half of the content they had would’ve been great to showcase from this summer til next fall given the strikes and the current media drought we’re facing. I’m glad this project is getting saved, hopefully other ones will be saved too!!
I don't know how Zaslev thought there would be no repercussions for killing movies. How he couldn't know how filmmakers would react. Why would anyone want to work for him if they have no idea if their work would even be seen.
How did Zaslev think there'd be no repercussions to anything he did with the other CEO's this year for that matter? Disney's year was'nt great either but at least they can still see the way out of the pit, Warner brothers is buried so far down they could feel heat from the earth's core.
I have admired Wil E. for years for his deterimination and resilience. No matter how many times he falls, he gets back up. I know he’s the designated bad guy, but I want to see him win!
It's wonderful seeing these Looney Tunes movies get a second chance! Obviously this getting sold to other studios is a huge win, but also there is another movie called The Day the Earth Blew Up that was based off of the new Looney Tunes Cartoons starring Porky and Daffy was also originally shelved for tax purposes, but then a couple weeks ago, GFM Animation acquired the film, sold it to the American Film Market and is gonna be released in IN THEATERS, during the second quarter of next year!
And oddly enough, despite their film appearance in the Space Jam movies and Back In Action, this is going to be the Looney Tunes very first full-length animated feature film in theaters. Because the first three movies were a cross with live-action
I think you hit it exactly, Warner brothers had the gall to do this within a day after the strike ended and assumed it would'nt piss off any of the creatives who are still riding off the fury built up from the strikes.
I'm glad that Coyote vs. Acme is getting a 2nd chance. I'm hoping Prime or Netflix (or Disney+) buys the movie because coming from the behind the scenes images I saw on Twitter, it looks very fun. If they even managed to get it into theaters as well, I'll gladly go & see it. Also, if Wile E. can get a chance, then HOPEFULLY Batgirl can as well. Great video, Andre.
The fact that they could save the film and did shocked me because I was sure after it's a tax write-off you just can't do that, then again I also didn't know they could do that for movies that are already done so who knows maybe there is hope for bad girl or they can just have the Gang reshoot the whole thing if they're no too upset
@@flashtheshapeshafter I think they were PLANNING on writing it off for taxes, but since the year hasn't ended, it hasnt been finalized yet, and they can backtrack and still release it or sell it. Batgirl was written off years ago so it legally cant be undone. They still own the character and can make a different Batgirl movie, but the one that was already made cannot be shown or sold.
I'm glad that "The Day the Earth Blew Up" (The Looney Tunes Cartoons movie) was able to escape most of this corporate monkey business. It's actually going to be distributed to theaters!
I LOVE how Andre mentions it in a related video, and suddenly, the Urkel Christmas movie is hitting digital next week. He legitimately created a Jaleel White Summoning C-Urkel. 😂
I heard that a Congressman from Texas has proposed that the Government investigate for antitrust violations. And I support this! Warner Bros needs to learn a lesson. And Wil E. deserves a win!
I definitely hope Amazon gets it, considering that they saved Batman: Caped Crusader, it can only be a matter of time that Coyote vs Acme gets confirmed for Prime Video. Not only that, but highlighting the great relationship between WB and MGM, because here in Latin America, Prime Video has nearly all the MonsterVerse and DCEU movies as well as WB's film slate of 2021, and top marquee shows like Two And A Half Men, The Mentalist and Smallville, so hopefully all stars can be alligned for Coyote vs Acme to make its debut on Prime Video. But yeah Andre, you took the words right out of my mouth, the Looney Tunes are and will always be amazing 🎉🎉. Looney Tunes Cartoons has been the sh9t 😎, The Looney Tunes Show a huge G.O.A.T. that deserved better, and Wabbit/New Looney Tunes was actually very funny and underappreciated as well. They deserve more respect ✊🏻✊🏻
the fact they have no confidence in Looney Tunes, one of their most celebrated brands that goes back decades- whose star character is on their fricken logo when movies start- says something
Yes, please talk about the Gremlins Secret Of The Mogwai show. That was surprisingly good. It took me an episode or two to get used to the art style though. And they even had an episode where they managed to make those goofy Chinese hopping vampires seem threatening! That alone is impressive!
If Disney aquired the distribution rights, I think Roger Rabbit may need to cameo as it would be the first project since his film that both rights holders would be involved.
A weird thing about WBD canning projects is also what they decided to release. Like instead of Scoob, we got Velma. Also Batgirl could have been good or it could have been very bad, but probably Not Criminally Bad unlike The Flash staring Ezra "YA WANA FIGHT!" Miller
This actually sounds like a solid idea. Leave it to WB to ignore a good thing and showcase garbage. Edit: posted before finishing the video. Hopefully this will slingshot the movie into spotlight.
