I'm starting to get everything around the engine off to pull the motor out and rebuild it and getting the generator out was a pain so what would you recommend for getting it back on
I think i put my generator back on, while the engine was still out.. The bracket on mine was cracked, and had to be swapped. I want to think there was a indent, or dimple on the genny case-to put it back just right. Though I could be wrong about that. The main issue , is to be certain the belt pulley is in line with the other ones. Im sure you know that the water pump is adjustable, with its mounting holes. Keep in mind there is no stop for the pump impeller, so if you dont put the rubber coupling right, it will chew up the pump parts. Use a calcium based grease for the pump. This car had the rope seal, 4 bolt style. I over reamed the new bushings, way too loose. Even with it wobbley, it never leaked. Clean out those side plate covers around the cylinders! And yes you need to have that deflector/baffel, inside of that long block cover... Most are rotten, without it, it will overheat...
