Shit Ghost Opera was eleven years ago? What a way to begin to feel old. I sometimes wonder why old folk never really move on with their musical tastes, but I'm beginning to understand. You find music you just love and you're quite happy listening to it for the rest of your life!
Oh, yeah, I actually think it's cool. He's just a very expressive and evocative singer; he doesn't just put his voice into it, he puts his whole body and spirit into captivating the listener.
I could tell you why you just found this band, but you probably would refuse to believe me. OK. I'll take a punch at it! MAINSTREAM INFLUENCES SIMPLE SAPS. M-I-S-S.. MISS! Since you have chosen to grow your mind and look outside the little box of Mainstream, you can see that this world has much more to offer than druggy-sex, hate music that many bands all over seem to slide towards much easier. It's probably because they can only sing or play at a certain speed! It's too complicated for most of those bands to think to such an epic extent of acceleration, it bewilders them and they give-in to being just another Cover Band that's been heard one too many times before.
Yes I refuse to believe you because I stopped listening to mainstream music when I was around 12 - around 8 years ago. I then got into rock for a few years then metal music about 4 or 5 years ago. I too hate the mainstream music and yes I agree it is all about drugs and sex. As a musician I like to appreciate the factors of metal and especially symphonic metal music. I also love it because the singers aren't all using autotune and computer produced shit and there is much less lip sycncing because metal bands can actually play live :D. As for rap and dubstep - don't even get me started! So do NOT tell me I am a simple minded noob like the mainstream fans. In fact, I rarely go out into clubs with my flatmates because I can't stand the music they play, originals of that crap is bad enough without being remixed and made even worse. I prefer to stay in enjoying proper music and doing constructive things or drawing or practice my instruments. So I was just unfortunate not to have stumbled across Kamelot earlier when surfing youtube for proper music. From a non mainstream noob.
Very much agreed! And I really don't like the Bar Scene. I feel like I'm fighting being brainwashed each and every time I go into a place that plays "fuck-a-slut-get-AIDS" music.
i will always love roy. tommy is great too. roy is who got me into this band though. i miss roy's beautiful voice. he now uses it for worship, but if he came back to metal for a collab, that would be freaking wonderful!
Walls so white Where your sorrows have a name And day is dark as night There's no remorse and no redemption Close the door Can you hear the crowd is waiting? For a last encore Screaming out for my attention Chanting my name [Chorus:] Welcome all to curtain call At the opera Raging voices in my mind Rise above the orchestra Like a crescendo of gratitude This is my song Like the dead I am on the other side They're howling in my head There's no remorse and no redemption Hush my dear Let the music fill the night And soon it's all we hear Screaming out for my attention Chanting my name Chanting my name [Chorus:] Welcome all to curtain call At the opera Raging voices in my mind Rise above the orchestra Like a crescendo of gratitude Don't wake me Until it's over I, I may be dreaming awake [Solo] Chanting my name Chanting my name [Chorus:] Welcome all to curtain call At the opera Raging voices in my mind Rise above the orchestra Welcome all to curtain call At the opera Raging voices in my mind Rise above the orchestra
It's song's like these that remind me why most music these day's is so bland - because no one in opera does rock anymore! They fit together so beautifully! Anything with such beautiful vocals, a string orchestra, and metal band is epic in my books!
Such an amazing group of guys. They successfully combined heavy metal, melodic piano, and operatic vocals. Roy Khan needs to keep his legacy going with this band. It's just a shame he left the group.
What?? Roy left ?!! Why man? Why? My heart almost stopped and I almost cried. Roy was the reason, I loved music so much. Man, world will be a crappy place without him singing.
These guys have been around since the 90s? Oh man... I must have been under a rock.... The 90's for me was a lost decade musically... shame I didn't know about this band... on the plus side... I have oh so much to catch up on... it feels like my birthday!!! Great stuff!
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT....you would have to be deaf, and blind or maybe nonexistent not to recognise the talent and excitement generated by this piece!!!!! Oh and I haven't used one cuss word here....I am a grandmother....no kidding!!!
+SuperHothead14 I've seen Kamelot several times with Tommy on vocals and, trust me, he brings it. Dude is the real deal. Not saying he is better or worse than Roy, just that he is a great addition.
Kamelot... on vinyl... THAT IS SO FREAKING AWE- We are sorry to report that the man typing just passed out from the sheer outstounding nature of this music. We apologize for the inconvenience.
This is the coolest music video ive seen in a long time these guys are great not like the metal we hear now a days wish their were more bands like Kamelot love this dudes voice and awesome job they do with the instruments
Thank you Kamelot. I miss the days of Queensrych. You bring the fire back to my soul long lost after their last album. (hah! album, I just placed my age.) You are subscribed and I will be following your music for years to come. Good fortune and long life to you.
Starting with within temptation, I was captured by the magic of metal. after exploring so many bands, I found Nightwish, and thought I had heard it all after listening to their song "the islander" Then I found Kamelot...
I was randomly searching for songs by symphonic metal bands to add to my playlist when I stumbled upon this band. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Never thought that this genre can work out this well with male lead vocals.
The whole experience with Kamelot is really incredible. The group has real talent and musical understanding, they don't ruin themselves trying to be cooler than they are and the being such a unique style. Also, anyone else curious to hear the opera without the metal in it?
maravilloso simplemente exelente la composicion es magnifica las voces van de acuerdo al estilo impresionante aunque tambien me gusta epica y lacrimosa cuyas voces son magnificas
First Mark Vanderbilt, then Roy Khan, and now Tommy... Kamelot is here to stay damn it, and wit every new singer is a total change in style and gets a lot more famous cant wait for their new album. it is due for september right?
I wonder what the hell happened with the quality options! Even placing the &fmt=18 at the end it doenst get an HD video... And a Swear to god that I use to watch this in HD
Where my love for this group started. Considering group turnover, may not have been the best place to start (because now I have to juggle going both ways in their music), but I have managed.
The sheer epicness that will always be Khan and the awesomeness that is Oliver Palotai! One of my all-time favorite Kamelot songs. The Inquisition still rocks my world though.
@ProfessorMcGonagle7 exactlly ;) There is no reason to blame new members.fabio has a WONDERFULL voice! He is not Roy ...he cant reach Roy..yes i will say that BUT his voice can support the songs and give power ,strength and liveliness to the songs and the crowd. Roy will never be forgotten ...we love him we support him and we CONTINUE support Kamelot. -cheers guys-
I identify more and more with the old woman dusting off ancient records with every day that passes
It's almost supernatural how fucking amazing this band is.
They kick ass live too. I've seen them a few times, they don't disappoint.
Shit Ghost Opera was eleven years ago? What a way to begin to feel old. I sometimes wonder why old folk never really move on with their musical tastes, but I'm beginning to understand. You find music you just love and you're quite happy listening to it for the rest of your life!
I hope to be in a metal music video when I'm an old lady. Life goals man.
I love how Roy has to seductively caress the air around every woman he's in a music video with xD Good stuff, beautiful band.
I really like the face expressions he makes. It shows how dedicated and passionate he is about the music they make
Oh, yeah, I actually think it's cool. He's just a very expressive and evocative singer; he doesn't just put his voice into it, he puts his whole body and spirit into captivating the listener.
Why the hell have I only just found this band???? Fantastic!

Excellent! Good for you man. Not too many of us out there.
XD I just hate being called a mainstream listener lol
Very much agreed! And I really don't like the Bar Scene. I feel like I'm fighting being brainwashed each and every time I go into a place that plays "fuck-a-slut-get-AIDS" music.

I guess I've been living in a cave because I just discovered these guys, absolutely spectacular shit!!!
Kamelot reviving elegance, symphonic qualities, a neo-victorian era feel, and a contemporary gothic european feel to metal
Walls so white
Where your sorrows have a name
And day is dark as night
There's no remorse and no redemption
Close the door
Can you hear the crowd is waiting?
For a last encore
Screaming out for my attention
Chanting my name
[Chorus:]
Welcome all to curtain call
At the opera
Raging voices in my mind
Rise above the orchestra
Like a crescendo of gratitude
This is my song
Like the dead
I am on the other side
They're howling in my head
There's no remorse and no redemption
Hush my dear
Let the music fill the night
And soon it's all we hear
Screaming out for my attention
Chanting my name
Chanting my name
[Chorus:]
Welcome all to curtain call
At the opera
Raging voices in my mind
Rise above the orchestra
Like a crescendo of gratitude
Don't wake me
Until it's over
I, I may be dreaming
awake
[Solo]
Chanting my name
Chanting my name
[Chorus:]
Welcome all to curtain call
At the opera
Raging voices in my mind
Rise above the orchestra
Welcome all to curtain call
At the opera
Raging voices in my mind
Rise above the orchestra

Kamelot with Roy Khan... probably the best band that the earth will ever see.
2019 this song is timeless.
Khan is definitely one of the greatest singers of all time (of any genre)
I never get tired of Kamelot!
How many times i listen this song i don't know. Superb..
What?? Roy left ?!! Why man? Why? My heart almost stopped and I almost cried. Roy was the reason, I loved music so much. Man, world will be a crappy place without him singing.
This is such an intriguing album and concept to be very honest. I dont understand HOW ANY negativity can be formed when watching/Listening to Kamelot.
These guys have been around since the 90s? Oh man... I must have been under a rock.... The 90's for me was a lost decade musically... shame I didn't know about this band... on the plus side... I have oh so much to catch up on... it feels like my birthday!!! Great stuff!
What a fantastic band, song, and video. I can't believe I just discovered them a few weeks ago. Im hooked, can't stop listening to them.
Roy Khan is so mysteriously charming...
He has an unresistable dark beauty...
2020 and still the BEST of all times.....
Siempre vuelvo acá... a regocijarme con estos temazos!! Doce años ya!
that's a song for a standing ovation
for me is one of the best songs of the band
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT....you would have to be deaf, and blind or maybe nonexistent not to recognise the talent and excitement generated by this piece!!!!! Oh and I haven't used one cuss word here....I am a grandmother....no kidding!!!
New to this band, i really like it :D
the story behind this song is sad as hell, but it's METAL... ROCK ON.
Beautifully filmed, beautifully written, beautifully composed just simply amazing a classic master piece
Now this is real metal, Kamelot is a great band.
God I miss Roy's presence, but i feel like Tommy does well as the new singer. Im sure i'll grow into him more as time goes on.
fuck yes u and I both
+SuperHothead14 I've seen Kamelot several times with Tommy on vocals and, trust me, he brings it. Dude is the real deal. Not saying he is better or worse than Roy, just that he is a great addition.
jimthar17 I have now seen them live with tommy and he is fucking amazing. he killed it.

Symphonic power metal.
Kamelot... on vinyl... THAT IS SO FREAKING AWE-
We are sorry to report that the man typing just passed out from the sheer outstounding nature of this music. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Who can dislike this fucking masterpiece?!!!
+DarthPK I was wondering the exact same thing... You must be stupid to dislike this
DarthPK some peopple find kamelot, nightwich, sonata artica and this kind of power metal to be far to cheeze, is closer to pop music than metal.
DarthPK ... me.
Masterpiece is the most overused word in music fandom history
my fucking thoughts exactly. 2018 still comin back :D
This is the coolest music video ive seen in a long time these guys are great not like the metal we hear now a days wish their were more bands like Kamelot love this dudes voice and awesome job they do with the instruments
2019 and still powerful
roy khan is so hot...and his voice is mezmerizing...
Damn, his voice has something magical in this song. Epic.
Por esta canción empezó mi convicción de vida. Gracias a esto, estoy donde estoy!!! ...Of the Opera!!!
Beautiful song! :'D Even the lead singer of Kamelot's expression can make ones spine tingle by his gaze. Bravo!
Read their interview in issue 38 of Gothic Beauty magazine and just had to see what their music was like. They are better than i'd thought they'd be.
I'm just boggled that this man can look and sound this amazing when he just turned 40. What the hell is in the water in Scandinavia? ;)
I'm not really into this progressive-oriented power metal...but holy fucking christ, the bloke's vocals are literally mind-shattering.
This song is so perfectly composed, and the video is very captivating. Very well done!
Thank you Kamelot. I miss the days of Queensrych. You bring the fire back to my soul long lost after their last album. (hah! album, I just placed my age.) You are subscribed and I will be following your music for years to come. Good fortune and long life to you.
This song is like an addiction, I can't stop listening this band :)
:o i love the voice of the singer man its awesome
5 years later, still one of the best metal songs that I know (and somehow quite a number are held by Kamelot!!!)
12years ago? Maaannn time fly 🥰
also, this guy is from norway and he does actually sing opera... that's why he is epic
Masterpiece!
I've been listening to these guys for about 10 years now, why aren't they booked for every major even every single year?
Essa é uma das melhores bandas que tive a honra de ouvir e conhecer,a música é linda.
The greatest song ever. Khan has the voice of god!
Omg I love Kamelot, And Ghost Opera as both a single and an album is one of my favorites. I love the orchestra along with Tommy's powerful vocals
I like about half the songs on Ghost Opera, but I love all the videos they made. So much improvement and great imagery.
Haha! you're so right, although I can't say I hate it; his hands are very expressive, just like his amazing voice.
Starting with within temptation, I was captured by the magic of metal. after exploring so many bands, I found Nightwish, and thought I had heard it all after listening to their song "the islander"
Then I found Kamelot...
Goosebumps equals greatness!
I was randomly searching for songs by symphonic metal bands to add to my playlist when I stumbled upon this band.
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Never thought that this genre can work out this well with male lead vocals.
Khan is the most ridiculous showman ever. Just absolutely amazing. This video is incredible and I loved the song to begin with!
The whole experience with Kamelot is really incredible. The group has real talent and musical understanding, they don't ruin themselves trying to be cooler than they are and the being such a unique style. Also, anyone else curious to hear the opera without the metal in it?
Wow, interesting stuff. I've never actually listened to a metal song before, and I have to say this was a good first.
I love his face expressions xD I miss you Roy :(
The more and more I see this band, the more I like them! Cheers, Kamelot, keep up the good work!
still, after all these years, one of my favorites of kamelot ;)

It was posted 9 years ago what would you expect.
This album is my definitive month-of-April album.
Where my love for this group started. Considering group turnover, may not have been the best place to start (because now I have to juggle going both ways in their music), but I have managed.
THIS IS A MASTERPIECE.
Una de las mejores músicas que he escuchado en toda mi vida.
Awesome music video
The sheer epicness that will always be Khan and the awesomeness that is Oliver Palotai! One of my all-time favorite Kamelot songs. The Inquisition still rocks my world though.
I still remember hearing this song when it first came out..and it gives me chills now just as much as it did then.
Amazing song. 🎧🎶🎶🎶
Maravilhosa música!
this is pure art :]
Went to see Kamelot tonight here in Tilburg! It was Amazing! So Awesome! If you havent seen them live then you certenly have missed something
@ProfessorMcGonagle7 exactlly ;) There is no reason to blame new members.fabio has a WONDERFULL voice! This song will last through the ages like Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 :)
*Eye twitch* Kamelot... Opened for... Nightwish? God I really regret moving away from NY now. I am so jealous!
La mejor de Kamelot
when will I get to hear Khan again? I should travel to Norway to see him. Two singers have taken over my soul-Christian Alvestam and Roy Khan.
the drama, the atmosphere from the video and the song give me chills and I love it!!!!
Increíble ☺
