Love how Roy's voice can sound sweet in the first part, beautiful on the second one, insane on the last part. Singers with such emotion in their voice are so fcking rare ! I miss Khan soooo much
HEY ROY, I RESPECT YOUR DECISION TO LEAVE KAMELOT. Yeah it's a huge bummer, but I understand you have your reasons. It was an awesome ride while it lasted and I will always be grateful what you've done.
One of my favorites.Tanks for the songs!Kamelot was amazing!I expect the new generations use at least a small piece of this magic and talent from the power and melodic metal 80's and 90's

When you actually know the story of the nutty countess that this song is in reference to, it makes the song all the more awesome. The woman was nuts, but this song is unbelievably beautiful and epic. Tommy is cool, but he's yet to make anything like this. Miss Roy so much, but I think Tommy is going to prove to be pretty impressive himself. Kamelot is such an awesome band, so few metal bands (or any type for that matter) can make such epic music. Can't wait till I can scrape some money together to get this album.
+Army of the Ankh I just learned the story of Elilzabeth Bathory, not realizing that she is who this song is about (went on a Wikipedia binge about serial killers). When I figured it out though, it made this song that much more amazing.
@Michael Sabo, I completely agree! And they haven't had to do much to change their style to fit Tommy because his vocal style (and, well, everything about his voice really because I actually had to be told they got a new vocalist for Silverhorn, and I was baffled) is so similar to Roy's. Their replacement vocalist was an amazing choice! He's great in concert, too! Saw them in April 2018 with my brother, and it was one of the best converts I've ever been to!
@fredtheonly1 Nothing has ever made me sadder than him leaving the band. Kamelot defines my musical preferences, and he is my favorite singer ever. I really hope he will get back in to music eventually.
Roy Khan, after he left Kamelot, went back to his old band. I can't remember it's name for the life of me, but it's progressive metal just like Kamelot is
This is so damn good, but as with pretty much every song in The One Cold Winters Night show, it's even better live. It seems Roy really fed off the audience and the cameras, he was so much more focused and intense there than here.
I'm listening this song first time. It's amaizing! I can feel all emotions, I feel like Elisabeth XD It's great! And now I've got a lot of ideas for my story. Thanks for great video, domsobel :)

"Several authors such as László Nagy and Dr. Irma Szádeczky-Kardoss have argued that Elizabeth Báthory was a victim of a conspiracy. Nagy argued that the proceedings against Báthory were largely politically motivated, possibly due to her extensive wealth and ownership of large areas of land in Hungary, escalating after the death of her husband. The theory is consistent with Hungarian history at that time, which included religious and political conflicts, especially relating to the wars with the Ottoman Empire, the spread of Protestantism and the extension of Habsburg power over Hungary."
Still, unlike the situation with Gilles de Reis who most probably was framed by political opponents, majority of historians agree that Elisabeth was actually guilty and Habsburgs just used this case later and not specifically framed her.
@@dmitriyk.2890 No they dont. The same way most historians dont agree that elizabeth was actually guilty. Also, while he was de-facto commander in Jeanne d'Arc army there were no signes of him being crazy. It only started when he distanced himself from the court, which itself is suspicuious. As for the Elisabeth, the person who actully did the investigation was considered a friend of their family and both catholic and protestant chroniclers framed her. To be accurate, mass murder takes place at one particular instance, e.g. a madman going on a rampage and firing at everyone in a mall. Serial killing, on the other hand, is the art of killing a handful of people in a row, with or without a peculiar cyclic system.

Blind Guardian, Kamelot, and Maiden. Sweet!

Elizabeth: III. Fall From Grace
breathe in deep
smell these halls of hate
carve your name into these walls
before it is too late
cold and twisted
they resisted
what was I to do
all I ever wanted was
a fraction of the truth
walking in the shadows
of my blackened mind
lost inside this shallow
vanity of time
what if there's a God a hell and heaven
fire is the torment I must face
dying by the souls I have forsaken
no one's going to catch my fall from grace
(bleed on me)
watch me from your cage
as I rejoin my painful prime
(suffer and exhale)
you and I are relics
we provoke and we recline
walking in the shadows
of my blackened mind
angels crave my sorrow
sorrow they will find
what if there's a God a hell and heaven
fire is the torment I must face
dying by the souls I have forsaken
no one's going to catch my fall from grace
walking in the shadows
of my blackened mind
angels crave my sorrow
sorrow they will find
This is probably my favourite from them

Elizabeth: II. Requiem For The Innocent
mother can you hold me
one more time again
whisper "I still love you? in my ear
mother did you lie
would you tell me why
there is something deeper that I fear
justify the malice I portray
daggers in the darkness find your way
when the moon is full and piercing bright
drench me with your innocence tonight
don't you want to die
walk beside me evermore
don't you feel alive
like you've never felt before
visions of the future
unprofound and blurred
I have passed the point of no return
justify the malice I portray
let me keep my beauty one more day
when the moon is full and piercing bright
drench me with your innocence tonight
don't you want to die
walk beside me evermore
don't you feel alive
like you've never felt before
don't you want to die
souls transcending, silver shine
don't you feel alive
your blood preserves my place in time
