I want you all to know that when we were stretching our left hips, my cat came up onto my lower back (which felt very nice) and there she stayed! She stayed there from left hip to table top to right hip! Really helped me engage my core; I didn’t want to dislodge her. Hehe

I have become addicted to yoga with Adriene. I am 69, have arthritis, back surgery, and fibromyalgia but still have amazed myself as the weeks go by. No, I cannot do all the positions but am learning how important breathing and grounding yourself to the earth is. Wonderful teacher and Benji!

@@jkurylenko I had a back operation 4 years ago which fixed it immediately. I only started doing YWA after that so that I don't have problems in the future. I find at my age (61) the practices are more for prevention than cure. I'd like to keep my body strong and agile to enjoy my grandkids as much as I can.

Between the physical work and time on the piano bench, my body is screaming at me to get on the mat everyday. One benefit of Covid 19 for me, has been that I found you Adrienne. I love your Yoga practices and actually prefer them to the ones I've been taking at my fancy pants gym. :) Your gentleness, humor, calming voice and complete verbal instruction is incredible. Hello everyone! If you are experiencing back pain(lower) this is a great practice for you. I recently pulled something in my back(and have arthritis) and have been doing this for the last 3 days and it's incredibly helpful. Remember to stretch and look at other beneficial yoga poses to strength your core and back. Adriene, your sessions always bring me to my "calm body" place, which I value and I appreciate daily. Well I did need this practice this morning after a week of prepping and painting the house - my low back has been TIGHT! 101 days of yoga and counting! Today was a huge struggle for me. I love a lower-intensity practice, mind you, but my body can't fold quite like that for the sitting and crawling the hands forward. I can't really bend over that way, so I did my best to modify the best I could. Whatever you do, keep showing up and keep working. You've got this!
I just wanted to let you know that I came across your channel at the beginning of my weightloss journey level 2 a year ago. After fighting and working my way through a lot of self doubt and fighting with my insurance, I was finally able to get bariatric surgery. I'm 27. I started out at 400lb. and am now 330lb. whenever I feel like doing that I do a 5min flow :) doesn't sound like much but makes a huge difference. Also do them as study breaks so I don't get sucked into youtube or Instagram but actually take a break

Thanks so much Adriene. I utilise your back care workshop sessions regularly as part of my therapy for a long term lower back niggle. (It’s a “stuck at the desk or in the car all day” problem I’ve developed over years) This session is particular is sooooo good at engaging the supportive muscles of my core and lengthening all the tight contracted muscles through the hips and upper legs. This practice is so valuable, as having back pain in the past I can guarantee that it always works for me. I guess this is my one month followup. I've jumped off the calendar to use these lower back sessions which has helped tremendously! It temporarily eliminates the stiffness that I get when doing an activity (e.g. mowing lawn, or working the garden). I wish it was permanent, but it ain't so. I find that the key is to attack those stiff back muscles which essentially means to attack the arthritis. If one doesn't, then it wins and will spread to other parts of your back. The core muscles are very important because they help one correct posture balance. So, this session is a refresher for us back sufferers to not ignore the stiffness or flashes of pain, but to work within your limitations and continue to deep breath while doing a stretch. It feel great!!

Adriene, I have to truly thank you for changing my life. After struggling so long with depression, anxiety and losing 150lbs I felt like I needed something more for myself. After my workout yesterday with my trainer, I woke up with the WORST back pain I have ever experienced. Instead of freaking out and rushing to the pain killers a little tiny light went off inside my head and it said “Jazzmin look for a back yoga practice with Adriene!” After I was finished with this video I went right into finishing with your upper back yoga and I felt completely different! My mind was calmer and the pain was actually manageable. It’s crazy what yoga truly does for the body, mind and my spirit. I’m so obsessed with doing daily yoga with you that I just had to rant and share my experience. My little kitty Tiny and I always look forward to sitting down with you each morning and doing what makes us feel good:) Love you Adriene!!
I woke up today and realized my low back was starting to spasm and I knew it could get to a point where I would collapse on the floor if I didn't take care of it. As soon as I opened RUclips to do yoga, this video popped up. My low back is not hurting anymore AND I feel connected to my breath and body - ready to face my day. Definitely saved this video. I've been doing some strength training lately, and I'm not the best at engaging my core muscles when doing different exercises, so when I'm done, I definitely feel it in my lower back. I did this yoga routine right after my strength training this morning, and I could feel the difference as soon as I was done. I'll definitely come back to this workout frequently. Not one to post personal things online but I just wanted to share that ive had a disc in my spine bulging in two places and resulting in trapped nerves for almost 2 years. It was excruciating for a long time but with appropriate physio stretches and daily yoga with adriene its taken my injury to a dull ache for an hour or so in the mornings. If youre suffering with any condition dont give up hope! Yoga did wonders for my body :) Gorgeous practice, thanks so much Adriene. Namaste ✌
I have the same issue! disc bulges at two levels and almost constant tingling sensation in my feet. Are these yoga series safe for people with disc issues? I am so scared of worsening it!

I have had severe lower back pain since 5 days, the first time I ever experienced pain like this. Now, 5 days, 1 massage and about 10 of Adriene's lower back yoga videos later, it's already feeling so much better. More even, after every practice I feel a great sense of relief, and I feel as if it is incrementally better already. I am surprised about how FAST the positive results show, and am eternally grateful for these videos. ❤
It's so beautiful how the smallest change in position can transform a practice. I've been working with a sore lower back the last couple weeks with no success in finding a position to stretch the particular spot, and was moved to tears by a small change in foot placement around minute 12 and into a side stretching fold. Adriene continues to bring light and love into my days, every day.
You're so right. Back health is so very important. In orthopedics, the back is the most important, easily injured and hardest to fix. These practices are excellent for back health. Aloha from Oahu Hawaii. Today was my first session with Yoga with Adriene. Just finished this video and am feeling a bit better and not as tight so I wanted to leave a comment and show my love and thanks. I will work on doing a yoga session for 20-30 mins a day in hopes of preventing and healing body pain. I have been training in Brazilian Jiujitsu for about 2 years now and it brings me much joy in my life. The only downside is this art can be physically demanding and tough on the body. Im experiencing lower back, hip, and neck pain. My hopes are with these yoga sessions as well as other healthy habits I can continue to do the things I love to do. Mahalo nui loa Adriene. One of my favourite videos to come back to, was nice to see in the Feb calendar. Back in the summer I had really tweaked by back, a bulging disc after months of neglect. This video along with some others in the lower back playlist really accelerated my healing process and I’ve been good form since. A scary wake up call, but one I needed to prioritize my health again.

I want you all to know that when we were stretching our left hips, my cat came up onto my lower back (which felt very nice) and there she stayed! She stayed there from left hip to table top to right hip! Really helped me engage my core; I didn’t want to dislodge her. Hehe

I have become addicted to yoga with Adriene. I am 69, have arthritis, back surgery, and fibromyalgia but still have amazed myself as the weeks go by. No, I cannot do all the positions but am learning how important breathing and grounding yourself to the earth is. Wonderful teacher and Benji!

How much time of doing yoga you’ve needed for your back healing?
@@jkurylenko I had a back operation 4 years ago which fixed it immediately. I only started doing YWA after that so that I don't have problems in the future. I find at my age (61) the practices are more for prevention than cure. I'd like to keep my body strong and agile to enjoy my grandkids as much as I can.
Just showing gratitude today for you Adriene. I'm 61, a pianist and gardener with a big property and a lot of activity. Between the physical work and time on the piano bench, my body is screaming at me to get on the mat everyday. Thanks to Adriene I can call up a 10 minute yoga if that's all I have time for , specifically to my needs for that day or just fall into a nice long session - and I feel amazing every time and more centered in myself. Hello everyone! If you are experiencing back pain(lower) this is a great practice for you. I recently pulled something in my back(and have arthritis) and have been doing this for the last 3 days and it's incredibly helpful. Remember to stretch and look at other beneficial yoga poses to strength your core and back. Adriene, your sessions always bring me to my "calm body" place, which I value and I appreciate daily. 101 days of yoga and counting! Today was a huge struggle for me. I love a lower-intensity practice, mind you, but my body can't fold quite like that for the sitting and crawling the hands forward. I can't really bend over that way, so I did my best to modify the best I could. Whatever you do, keep showing up and keep working. You've got this!

I just wanted to let you know that I came across your channel at the beginning of my weightloss journey level 2 a year ago. After fighting and working my way through a lot of self doubt and fighting with my insurance, I was finally able to get bariatric surgery. I'm 27. I started out at 400lb. and am now 330lb. whenever I feel like doing that I do a 5min flow :) doesn't sound like much but makes a huge difference. Also do them as study breaks so I don't get sucked into youtube or Instagram but actually take a break

I guess this is my one month followup. I've jumped off the calendar to use these lower back sessions which has helped tremendously! It temporarily eliminates the stiffness that I get when doing an activity (e.g. mowing lawn, or working the garden). I wish it was permanent, but it ain't so. I find that the key is to attack those stiff back muscles which essentially means to attack the arthritis. If one doesn't, then it wins and will spread to other parts of your back. The core muscles are very important because they help one correct posture balance. So, this session is a refresher for us back sufferers to not ignore the stiffness or flashes of pain, but to work within your limitations and continue to deep breath while doing a stretch. It feel great!!

I have to truly thank you for changing my life. After struggling so long with depression, anxiety and losing 150lbs I felt like I needed something more for myself. After my workout yesterday with my trainer, I woke up with the WORST back pain I have ever experienced. Instead of freaking out and rushing to the pain killers a little tiny light went off inside my head and it said “Jazzmin look for a back yoga practice with Adriene!”
After I was finished with this video I went right into finishing with your upper back yoga and I felt completely different! My mind was calmer and the pain was actually manageable. It’s crazy what yoga truly does for the body, mind and my spirit. I’m so obsessed with doing daily yoga with you that I just had to rant and share my experience. My little kitty Tiny and I always look forward to sitting down with you each morning and doing what makes us feel good:)

I woke up today and realized my low back was starting to spasm and I knew it could get to a point where I would collapse on the floor if I didn't take care of it. As soon as I opened RUclips to do yoga, this video popped up. My low back is not hurting anymore AND I feel connected to my breath and body - ready to face my day. Definitely saved this video. I've been doing some strength training lately, and I'm not the best at engaging my core muscles when doing different exercises, so when I'm done, I definitely feel it in my lower back. I did this yoga routine right after my strength training this morning, and I could feel the difference as soon as I was done. I'll definitely come back to this workout frequently. Not one to post personal things online but I just wanted to share that ive had a disc in my spine bulging in two places and resulting in trapped nerves for almost 2 years. It was excruciating for a long time but with appropriate physio stretches and daily yoga with adriene its taken my injury to a dull ache for an hour or so in the mornings. If youre suffering with any condition dont give up hope! Yoga did wonders for my body :)

I have the same issue! disc bulges at two levels and almost constant tingling sensation in my feet. Are these yoga series safe for people with disc issues? I am so scared of worsening it!

I have had severe lower back pain since 5 days, the first time I ever experienced pain like this. Now, 5 days, 1 massage and about 10 of Adriene's lower back yoga videos later, it's already feeling so much better. More even, after every practice I feel a great sense of relief, and I feel as if it is incrementally better already. I am surprised about how FAST the positive results show, and am eternally grateful for these videos. ❤
It's so beautiful how the smallest change in position can transform a practice. I've been working with a sore lower back the last couple weeks with no success in finding a position to stretch the particular spot, and was moved to tears by a small change in foot placement around minute 12 and into a side stretching fold. Adriene continues to bring light and love into my days, every day.

Aloha from Oahu Hawaii. Today was my first session with Yoga with Adriene. Just finished this video and am feeling a bit better and not as tight so I wanted to leave a comment and show my love and thanks. I will work on doing a yoga session for 20-30 mins a day in hopes of preventing and healing body pain. I have been training in Brazilian Jiujitsu for about 2 years now and it brings me much joy in my life. The only downside is this art can be physically demanding and tough on the body. Im experiencing lower back, hip, and neck pain. My hopes are with these yoga sessions as well as other healthy habits I can continue to do the things I love to do. Mahalo nui loa Adriene. I use your back pain, sciatica hip strength yoga videos and I have slipped vertibrae but your videos give me relief from pains and many days no pain as if nothing is wrong with me. Your gentle approach to exercises not only relieves my pain but also make me feel good. Just wanted to say thank you and God bless you so so much. You would have laughed watching me try to get up into a squat! I took so long getting up (eventually doing it differently!) that you had finished in forward fold and were on the way down again! I'm sure I wasn't the only one who struggled with that!! Anyway, my lower back feels well loved. Thank you Adriene xx Namaste 💟💟

I identify with that part! I got some laughter in the routine. One day I'll be able to do it!
One of my favourite videos to come back to, was nice to see in the Feb calendar. Back in the summer I had really tweaked by back, a bulging disc after months of neglect. This video along with some others in the lower back playlist really accelerated my healing process and I’ve been good form since. A scary wake up call, but one I needed to prioritize my health again.
