Hey all, many have pointed out some audio issues in this video. Some of these were mistakes, some of these were a result of Premiere breaking in several dozen ways during editing and having to go back to an older version on a different device to get it to render at all (which is also why the bitrate is low in places, again, sorry about that.) I didn't notice many of these things when watching on laptop speakers, which is my own fault for not doing my final check with headphones.

This is why live service games are kinda depressing, because you know that the servers won’t be up forever and eventually you can no longer play it when the devs turn it off

Hi Kacey! I'm a fan and I am also a staff member of the 2 Call of Duty projects you mentioned and showed - IW4x and Plutonium. I cannot speak on the behalf of the full administration and developers of both projects, but I want to so thank you for covering us in your video, and we try our utmost best to provide an experience for both previous and new players that come to our platforms. In both projects we offer support for other Call of Duty titles. In Plutonium, we also offer support for Black Ops 2 and in IW4x (now known as XLabs), we offer support for Ghosts. Thanks a lot again!

1.6 is and always will be alive. Even if the official server stats don't show it, central Europe and CIS countries will always boost their local playercounts to having hundreds if not thousands of full servers - granted, 99.(9)% of the players are using non-steam (pirated) versions of the game, but they are still there. Most of Polish servers (I don't really know any others tbh, since my local pirated copy came with a list of only Polish servers) currently are either surf+rpg on surf_ski_2 or only de_dust2 servers with parachutes and maybe custom models, adding the obvious stuff like only allowing the bomb to be planted on one bombsite if there's not enough players. They are still thriving, have big forum communities and most of the servers are kind of like a family, where all of the top 100-200 players on the server's ranking know each other. Source wasn't a big game here (barely anybody played it).

    2 corrections:
CS:Source did have a competitive scene, which caused a lot of friction between players from both 1.6 and Source.
Infinity Ward devs said publicly on a forum that they are fine with fov changers and would not actively try to ban their use. This was around MW3 launch time I think, and fov changers that didn't trigger the anticheat had been long used. A bit late sure, but it was something.
The map DLC on MW2 PC in 2020 is broken, purchasing it will only let you lobby with other DLC owners, essentially removing your ability to find a game.

I used to love MW3, it's a big part of my childhood. Last year I got it on PC and played the multiplayer. It was an amazing nostalgia trip, but unplayable because EVERYONE was hacking. Walhacks being the most common. It's not just a game of who can out-hack the other hackers. And since there's no bots, it's the only way to re-live the game, to deal with hackers. RIP MW3, you were a good one

Hey mate! Great video as always but I have one small technical nitpick: There's very wild volume differences where you've cut and edited the video. Might be worth going over the audio channels in Audacity and normalizing the volume (a mild limiter works well too) to ensure consistency between takes.

    • @Kaceydotme
      @Kaceydotme  3 года назад +8

I did try normalizing in premiere but I had all manner of technical problems while editing this, which is why it came out a day late. Have been having a much easier time with audio recently, this one just kinda kicked my ass and the problems were minor enough that I felt they weren't worth fighting with premiere over. Thanks for the suggestions though, they will likely make multiple takes easier in the future.

I'm one of the people that sit on that hzrd sniping server in black ops and I've been for years, I got the game late 2010 and ignoring a 2 year break somewhere in the middle, I'm still playing it regularly. This year I've finally expanded, got into COD4 properly this time, tried custom clients for MW2, MW3 and BO2 and all thanks to Warzone launching. But it's not the battle royale gameplay that did it's magic, it's the occasional MW2019 free multiplayer weekends that occured. Extremely fast paced combat on Shoothouse felt incredibly satisfying getting me hooked right away and Shipment in particular reminded me of the time I played a cracked pirated version of COD4 years and years ago. But MW2019 was and is expensive and my PC until recently didn't run it that well, so naturally I tried older stuff which reignited my love for COD over all and eventually made me upgrade my PC and purchase MW2019.

The problem with Activision is they release a new cod every year. They support the new one until the next release and throw the old one in the trash. One example is modern warfare and cold war. Many games struggle to maintain an steady playerbase, some of them should add an offline mode; in this case I really like the MW 2019 mixed bots, this simulate the feel of new and veterans human players in a server, some of them are really dumb others truly ruthless

Honestly, There is still a thriving community of counter strike source consisting of players from India, Russia, Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, And the United States. There are a ton of servers and players available at any time, There are B-Hop servers, Modded servers with double jumps and many other new modes, Honestly I think that it's better than CSGO, Most of us play on non-steam versions of CSS called ClientMod. And also 1.6 will never die, It has way more servers than CSS in 2021, More modes, mods, Skins and other player made stuff.

it's funny because i can't say this is the case on consoles, but bo4 is completely dead, at least in terms of modes that arn't tdm and blackout. what was meant to replace the campaign for bo4 is completely dead, and you can only view it's graveyard of a map only through custom games. maybe that's for the better though lol.

The reason CoD has the strict rules... is because of how exploitable they are.
    No Wall Bang Nuketown:
Given you can use hard cover (No wallbang) to FIRE INTO THE HOUSE or FIRE FROM HOUSE INTO SPAWN and it is ALWAYS NUKETOWN you'd expect people to know... where the spawns and doors are through walls... and just do that. It has to be done to keep it in check otherwise it just becomes LMG or Extended Mags land.
    MW3 Crouch Only:
Due to footstep audio being busted, especially with Sitrep being the best anti-equipment option, it gave the most options with the least restrictions. Footstep audio discourages moving... something you praised counterstrike for encouraging movement over camping. I still remember that time someone heard me from I want to say about 25-30 meters away... this isn't exactly fun when no one can move and every gun fight is head to head... or someone camping in great cover pre-firing you because you know your exact location. This creates a lot of limitations as to move you need fast aiming AND killing guns. (Typically an OP weapon) while someone will camp with a more OP weapon. (Run a sniper or shotgun as a camper and it becomes virtually impossible without another one.) To have any control or option you have to remove the noise otherwise the game becomes a simple strict meta like if Nuketown didn't have anti-wallbang rules.

Plutonium has an average concurrent playercount between all their games of around 700-1000. Even their least popular game, MW3, still has atleast 2 full servers worth of people on at all times.
