    Very much appreciate your OP backswing and downswing videos. Do you have any tips to transition from the outer circle at the top of the backswing to the inner circle at the start of the downswing?

    • @nxair8356
      @nxair8356 2 года назад

      Lol this comment is 10 years old but for me my feel for the transition really working that body then slight drop of the club then I have to feel like I’m pushing the swing to the right. I’m sure this is not real but the bid squares the club head and the feel of pushing keeps me from releasing my hands early. If you don’t use your body or if you don’t have that drop you will have pull draws all day

    This is a great video for the one plane swing. A lot of detail. I saw another video which explained the need to turn each leg individually as well as turn the hips. Maybe most people do this naturally, but it was the missing piece to this swing that I needed. With all this instruction my shots are much longer and straighter. Thank you.

    This is Zander’s version of Hardy’s swing. Don’t be dissuaded. This one is a back breaker. Check out Plane Truth (Jim Hardy and Chris O’Connell) and read the books and watch the videos on the one and two plane swings and the releases that work best.

    Great explanation of the one plane! The missing link for most golfers (myself included) is getting from the 'upper' plane back to the 'lower plane', to compress the ball. I noticed a video that you posted a while back on how it is better to attack the ball from the inside out with driver and outside in (slightly) with the irons.
    Once I re-establish the right hand on the downswing, can I still swing in-to-out with a driver? This move works best for me with irons but I tend to hook with the driver. Thank you very much for this incredible video.

    I switched to a one plane swing a few years ago and love it! It's simpler, and much more repeatable. No one has ever explained, including Jim Hardy (got his book and videos) how to finish that swing. Thanks to Josh for doing that so well. I love the plate drill from one of his earlier videos too... Great stuff.

  • @genin69

    very nice swing, thanks for the video. I just realized what my problem could be. After this and also watching a video by Pete Styles (he has a simple technique where you stand with you butt against a wall to check your swing plane) I realized that my swing plane is of the upright version. hence my knack for slicing or fading the ball. I noticed that I was coming down on the ball from a 5:30 to 11:00 position (12 o clock is the direction you want to hit to as seen from above)

  • @rickzabrodski5767

    The only thing missing here is to emphasize the dropping of arms down, right elbow glued to right hip, with wrist movement purely extension/flexion through impact. Jim Hardy later called this the RIT release which is required for a one plane swing as described in this video.

  • @thomasfraser9072
    @thomasfraser9072 8 лет назад

    Yes one might want to start the downswing with the let hip initially going back, then the right hip swing forward to reach the point of impact and after the point of impact the two hips are join together for the classic follow though. Of course this all happens with the blink of an eye.

      Ball might be too far forward in your stance, the grip could be strong, or you are coming across the line a little with a slightly closed face in relation to target line. @golfnotbombs (instagram) of need any more help.

      driver is the only swing where you actually tilt and hit up on the ball so I would not use this for driver but its true for everything else

  • @headlesssoldier
    @headlesssoldier 5 лет назад

    Your one line "slam your thighs together" literally changed my life. lol. I have a one plane swing and could never consistently find that finish position. some days I would be clear and posed, other days hanging back and swatting. I think slamming my upper right inner thigh against my left leg. Its kind of a miracle. But on the rest of your video? seems like you advocated drifting all over the place. In my rotational swing I barely move and stay really centered. When you actually swing face on it looks fine though. To me it looks like your left knee is bent away from you.and does not move back. Moving it back in a one plane swing is a killer. You do a pumping action with your legs. Exactly what I do. That drift isn't there when you actually hit it. So, I don't agree with your slo mo, but your actual hit is exactly how I do it.

  • @larrybud

    Sliding that upper body towards the target is a great way to get steep! You're dead if you have no secondary axis tilt (that is, your spine tilting more away from the target at impact than at address).

    Suzanne Petterson uses this technique. I do see where this would make for better ball striking, but ??? for the driver. Since I can't hit driver anyway and have gone the Phil Mic3wood route off the tee, I think I'll give this swing a try. Seems something a 48 year old non-flexible guy can pull off.

  • @slatt33

    Okay i just went back and looked at Hogan, he drops the right elbow DOWN in the DS and it ACTUALLY appears that his right arm DOES NOT become the top arm again at hip height---I get Hogan played with the right arm under the left all the way through in his one plane swing ???? Do you agree ???/

    • @hennybogan007

      the key to selling a swing theory is to use a golf legend as your model. You are correct with your comments on Mr. Hogan's swing - it was nothing like what this guy is showing.

    If you move ahead of the golf ball wont that cause you to hit on top of the ball? I know it would on a driver or 3 wood. Would you change your stance width to fix that? Anyone have a legit answer?

  • @headlesssoldier
    @headlesssoldier 6 лет назад

    Slamming the right thigh into the left is genius . In tried it and we’re talking towering compressed maxed out everything . It accomplishes what I’ve been missing with my one plain swing. . From time to time I get into the hangbacks and have use a mechanic to get me back during the round. This is the perfect swingtthought

  • @MultiSkippy100
    @MultiSkippy100 12 лет назад

    The club is ideally slightly laid off top of B/S. The down swing should begin with an upper body turn back towards the target, leading with either the left or right shoulder, whatever your preference.Most good players use the left. Dipping down with the knee will lead to dipping of the head...a major Tiger Woods flaw as his coach (Foley) only too often points out...this dipping of the head is not a part of the one plane swing. Essentially the OPS is a body and core TURN...not a dipping motion..

    MultiSkippy100 (first post) needs a refresher course. Check books by Venturi, Jonny Miller,, Fred Couples, etc. Left hip and knee move laterally on the downswing. There's many ways to do an effective golf swing.

  • @MultiSkippy100
    @MultiSkippy100 12 лет назад

  • @doombreed69

    This seems like there are too many compensations to be consistent all of the time, how do you judge how far to move past the ball? And if your swing centre is past the ball the natural motion is to almost fall backwards, if you are coming down so sharply on the back of the ball you will always get lots of backspin which will rob you of distance especially into the wind. If you want to hit the ball properly look up Mike Austin, and check out djwattsgolf com.

  • @MultiSkippy100

    The downswing does not begin with a lateral or downward movement of the knee ( totally wrong) ..Josh's downswing is totally out of position and at half way he is too steep (totally wrong) and then totally flat. Totally incorrect portrayal of a one plane downswing...His shoulder line is square at impact (totally wrong) and then he backs up into a light reverse c position in the follow through (also not a part of a one plane swing) more stack and tilt. Right shoulder position is totally incorrect.

    Terrible. Any golf tuition that is all focused on leg and hip action doesn't work for high handicappers. You don't get back on plane on the down swing but doing things with your legs first. The legs and hips follow correct arm and hand action.

  • @nedgermany

    I don’t think you executed the one plane swing. On the the down the line shot, the club exits coming out of your shoulder. Look at Sergio exit is much lower. Near rib cage. Tiger is beneath deltoid. Hogan in between Sergio and Tiger. The shaft should more or less be perpendicular to your tilted body. Yours is more like 45 degrees
