It’s weird how when I see people who have acne scars and hyperpigmentation, I don’t think anything of it. I look at you and think “god she’s so beautiful”. But then I look in the mirror and see my scars and hyperpigmentation and I can’t give that same energy.
Exactly! We're SO hard on ourselves. With other people I don't even notice it when they have active acne, but I go crazy trying to cover up my acne scars even though I know other people probably don't care and don't even see them.
I love it. She looks like me and not those makeup guru’s or social media influencers with a filter covering their actual skin. It’s so nice to feel like you’re being represented.
i absolutely love your content. it's so natural, so real. so honest. it really helps to accept the fact that makeup gurus do not need to have a crystal clear skin. we can have texture, hyperpigmentation, acne AND have good makeup on. thank you for making it relatable. and i love how detailed your videos are.
Primer recommendation: I use the sunscreen “SVR Sun Secure Blur SPF50+” as a primer even though it's not a primer because the texture is too thick and uncomfortable to use as a regular sunscreen, but as a primer it's PERFECT! Put a little amount starting from T zone and spread like you would with a regular primer. It mattifies, and blurs imperfections. Your makeup is so easy to apply afterward as it will literally glide on your face, and the bonus is that you get added sun protection!
Love the energy you bring to your videos ! Thought I'd share some skincare suggestions that have cleared my hyperpigmentation & control my adult acne as a latina. Two key products are tretinoin retin-A gel 0.025% & epiduo gel. Both are topical prescriptions, so definitely see a dermatologist. Even though the tretinoin dose is very low, it'll cause your skin to purge / dry & get flaky in the beginning. Once you build your tolerance, you'll see your hyperpigmentation fade and acne scars minimize as the tretinoin helps create new skin cells that'll shed off that old layer of skin. Epiduo is benzoyl peroxide that you can get over the counter and is great for preventing a pimple the moment you feel it forming and alleviate the redness. I know pimples hurt, so using benzoyl peroxide is super helpful ! It's also great to use an exfoliant at least 3x per week (every other night). Paula's choice BHA was my holy grail but it's pricey, so I switched to Naturium BHA. The brand has really great products you can find at target ! One other key product is incorporating a vitamin C. I use one from Naturium or the Ordinary everytime I apply the exfoliant at night. Oh and don't forget to apply sunscreen because that prevents hyperpigmentation, as well. Also, I don't know if you've noticed that certain foods cause acnes flare-ups. I'm 27 and all of my acne / hyperpigmentation has cleared up. However, every time I eat nuts or chocolate I form a pimple the next morning which stinks because I looove chocolate haha. Sorry that this comment was a bit lengthy ! I hope some of these suggestions help !!
PLEASE START A BOOK SEGMENT!! I just found your channel and I love your personality. Super unique, and have your own way of doing things, so much content online is so repetitive and I found this video so refreshing!! I also became a book girly last year hehe
Hiii I just wanted to say that some of these products might be making your acne worse, the makeup by Mario concealer has coconut alkanes which is on the list of acne causing ingredients, as well as bismuth oxychloride and the Kylie cosmetics concealer has diisostearyl malate, and polyglyceryl-4 isostearate which also can trigger acne. And the Laura Mercer powder contains talc, magnesium myristate, ethylhexyl palmitate, and glycine soja soybean oil- more acne triggers. It is hard to find products that are acne safe and it totally sucks ! I used to use the Laura Mercer powder too, I switched to the huda beauty powder and honestly its better as someone with really oily skin because I can reapply without getting the yellowish buildup that the Laura Mercer one has. Rn ive been using the Lyra classic tinted sunscreen and then spot concealing with the bareminerals matte foundation which im surprised doesn't look cakey and I recommend the combo ! and If you dont like the foundationy- feel I would still recommend the Rose Inc skin smoothing foundation because its the safest product ive found and you can use it as a concealer (+ all the reviews are great). Take my advice with a grain of salt because no one asked me butbut I know the struggle of acne and I try to help people with it when I can
GIRL you are BEAUTIFUL and I LOVE this sm, I always feel like I need to pack on foundation because of my scars and acne but this just rocked my frikin’ world!! 😍
Ŵow, I do My makeup just like that! No foundation, let the concealer sit while I do my eyes& liner& then brows, and brush it in& add powder. But I also never use highlighter- only blush. Great job
Love the look ❤i also don’t wear foundation currently i use nars soft matte complete concealer i have oily skin with acne scars and pimples and that concealer is bomb ! doesn’t irritate, clog my active pimples stays put and matte throughout whole day amazing formula most concealers creases and worn off ,and your tutorial proves it,hiding the acne with just concealer looks far better than covering full face with foundation
I would love to know if any of the elf power grip primers help for keeping concealer on longer. I also don’t love foundation but whenever I spot conceal it never last all day :( they have a spray and a gel. Neither are silicone based.
I'm sorry, love. I hope you receive my message in a good light about the eye area and why it creases first. You need moisture, so you might use a one-shade darker concealer and lighter on the area, like the end of the eye, and the way you use the brush is like using eyeshadow when you slightly need to dap the product into the skin, not wasting the product, and the brush should be a small, short one for powdering. I use a small puff of that powder product, put it on the back of my hand, and gently dap
haiii idk if youve figured this out yet but i recommend not getting the concealer on top of your lower lid crease, after i stopped applying my concealer on it and just stopped right before the line it has stopped creasing:p hope it helps
Ok, ok, I got stupid excited for the book idea. I'm a book girly who hates foundation too lol 😆 But that's all I do is read, research, and write anthropological/archaeological and historical research papers. Girl, I got more books than the local library here! It'll be kinda like a summary of what the books are about, and maybe review them/critique them too. Or it can be sort of like a book club!! Please do it. I need that in my life. What book are you currently reading?
I also heard that using highlighter or anything with shimmer/glitter will make your acne look more noticeable and now I only use Matt makeup Matt blush and I don't use highlighter anymore and I see a big different
You can use shimmer and stiff like that to only accentuate your upper lips or your (idk what its called) bridge between your lips and nose. Just AVOID THE REST OF THE FACE
omg thank you so so much for the tutorial!! I went to the dermatologist yesterday and she says there's nothing I can do about my hyperpigmentation cause i have brown skin, so it will always come back :(
I don't have those lipsticks, but I bet they smell like traditional makeup smelled like. My mom's makeup, that used to be YSL, or Dior, had a smell than most makeup nowadays don't anymore. So that's how our mom's makeup used to smell, which is a lovely scent.
You really look beautiful without a make up, and applying just more of your beautiful face🙂..Your eye brows didn't even bother me a bit, at least you have good thick hair, not hard to shape it😊
Gabi, I'm not speak or write un english fine, so writ ti spanish, AND i think, sjdnskalal.Gracias por esto, eres muy grande, te conocí a partir de un reel y me gustó porque igual que tú también tengo granitos y vaya, te ves muy bien con o sin maquillaje, eres super guapa.Gracias por el contenido❤❤❤
Love this video revently i have been looking at my makeup and its sucks so bad and i didnt know how to fix it with acne scarring so this helps so much. This also helped me feel more confident being infront of the camera cause i want to start a channel but i thunk i have to be this extraverted optimistic wildly confident person but when u said i still get nervous it lets down that barrier of being what i think i should be if that makes sense anyway thank u again 🫶
I've been ugly since forever and I am now learning how to be an actual girl. Wish me luck on womanhood. I want people to have a crush on me, I want people to return my "You look so pretty" compliments, and I don't wanna be known just for being the valedictorian of my class.

Not everyone is hiding their skin. Some people just have clear skin… Believe that "everyone is lying" is not an healthy way to cope.
