@@estefanytorres125 Exactly what I was thinking. Are people with no skin problems considered not "real" people? Everyone is real; no skin problems, skin problems, skinny, fat, black, white, etc. I think the right wording would've said that it's great that he uses models that represent a variety of people, not only those with what's considered "perfect"skin.
She’s genuinely so beautiful. I struggle with rosacea and sometimes can feel so ugly because of it. I love seeing how beautiful somebody else who also struggles with rosacea looks so beautiful before and after the make up. Makes me feel more confident because sometimes all I see is my skin.
@@olivemariie yes the best my skin has ever looked was when I was on a super strict clean diet but it’s hard because over time it was so bland and made me hate eating ):
I agree with the other comment about healing gut. My rosecea is healing after I saw a GI doctor who specialises in SIBO. I ended up having a methane overgrowth which I treated, and cut gluten, avenin, and dairy out of my diet. Something inflammatory is going on in your gut which is coming out into your skin. Sea salt spray helps heal and so does azeliac acid and Metrogel for the bumps too but if you want true healing, see someone who specialises in SIBO.
What I love about you the most, Spencer, is your honesty. Not many makeup gurus on RUclips admit to the fact they use a filter and that the lighting helps make the makeup look prettier than it may look in real life. And so many girls get fooled by it and let it get them down by comparing their own skin to what they see on the internet. I hope more people start mentioning "the power of lighting/filter" not just the power of makeup.
I love that you are addressing skin texture not only in general but for rosacea. As someone who suffered with rosacea/texture like the models I had such a hard time with makeup. Thank you for showcasing that skin naturally has texture and is beautiful in every sense.
This was a masterpiece, sometimes a girl just wants to go fantastic plastic and believe we are manequins. I love how he addresses the skin problems and not just cover it up but to care for the skin. As always a fantastic tutorial and a fountain of information, thank you Spencer.🎉

Me too. I havent been to a dermatologist yet but I know I need to for the best help. I know it's expensive to do that, but if you can afford it, or if you can save for it I think it'll be the answer - they know all of the latest products that could really change things and they will tailor it for your exact issue because there are so many different types of rosacea. For me now I just try and simplify my skincare and my redness has calmed a lot. I use a miceller water to cleanse my make up off with and then wash that off straight away just with water, then I just use REN evercalm daily moisturiser (even at night). I also dab a bit of sudocrem on to the problem areas when they flare up and that's it. I hope you find what works for you :)

the model is so stunning i hope she never feels bad abt her skin a day in her life. its honestly cute on her and at the very least, doesnt detract from her beauty at all and isnt overly noticeable!
I just tried that combo by accident myself the other day, foundation with foundation powder, and I concur, it really makes a difference. I also have some texture, acne scars, wrinkles and redness. I used what I had at home, the Nars foundation with Fenty powder foundation on top. The skin looked more smooth and flawless and it kept the oils away longer. You're the best, Spencer! Not only do you do a fantastic job on the models, but you do it with such humor and warmth! And the versatility! You have taught me so much about makeup!
I love this makeover! She’s not overly made up where she looks like a totally different person. It’s just enough to cover her redness and enhance her natural beauty
This model is a natural beauty. She's gorgeous before and after makeup. I would give the scented skincare a miss though. Often it's the cause of skin conditions or makes them worse. Great job as always!
yeah, was thinking the same because it looks like she has rosacea and have to be so careful ( I have it and everything makes it angry if not careful lol).
I feel much better after watching your video. I’ve struggled so much with my skin my whole life and into my 30s, have dealt with hormonal acne and never understood what makeup would cover me up. I love how you go through each step but still reminding your viewers we are just people with acne that is a common skin condition. I also like how you’re not overly applying makeup and being careful with each dab you apply to her face. I feel more understood and now have a better idea of how I should approach my skincare and makeup routines. So glad I came across this video. Thank you so much! I’ll be subscribing and watch your videos in case I ever need some well thought out advice again ❤❤
I appreciate the acknowledgement of how texture is normal and how it cannot ever be “completely covered.” Never heard a professional be honest and admit that. I envy the good skin ALL THE TIME. I needed that. Thank you.
Omg I never dived into your tutorials till today and I am so glad I did! It’s so hard to find good makeup artists that really know how to do makeup on all skin types especially acne prone textured skin. I always see makeup artists do makeup on models with already perfect skin. I think it says a lot about your talent as an artist that you have the skill set to do makeup on every skin type.
I really appreciate your kind and encouraging words regarding skin texture. I’ve always struggled with acne/pores/scarring so it can be difficult to feel happy with the results of my makeup application. I’ll keep your words and techniques in mind next time I get all glammed up! Thanks!!!
I'm over 50. And I would like you to put make-up on an older model and tell us what to look out for. You‘re doing an amazing job and with your gentle voice, you are the Bob Ross of Make-up-Art. I love your videos. ❤️
Spencer I cannot thank you enough for your true transparency in your videos. Your techniques and knowledge are out of this world and I love the environment you provide here. Thank you 💛
I love how you brought out her beauty by enhancing her facial features. I myself struggled ( already healed my acne before but it came back now huhu) and is currently struggling with acne, I often feel so little whenever i look at myself in the mirror or look at the perfect, flawless faces of instagram and runway models. But hey, thanks for this tutorial because I know that there is still hope that my skin can still look healthy and even
The only thing greater than your skin and makeup talents is your heart: you are so lovely, kind, thoughtful, inclusive, generous and good. I am so happy you share your talents, your voice, your gorgeous face and your kindness with us.
The makeup is as sensational as always, that goes without saying, but your kind approach to people about how to be kind to themselves, is just so lovely and so important. We are all guilty of being hard on ourselves and your manner reminds us to think of ourselves positively. Love your whole mindset and what you do xxx
Your comment about how textured skin is normal seriously helped me so much. I came in here looking for a way to make my skin look pore less but you’re right! There’s no product that will completely remove it. Thank you. I needed to hear that.
Just cleansing and moisturizing alone made such a huge difference. I love the coverage you got! I was actually really surprised at how well that Bobbi brown took care of the redness
I’ve been such a makeup junkie since the mid 90’s!! I would buy the Kevyn Accoin books and read them all the time❤️ After his death, I read article after article from celebrities about how kind and gentle he was ( not to mention being and absolute makeup genius). You remind me so much of him, but in your own amazing way. You have such an incredible gift. Keep up the amazing and stunning work!
I could watch you paint all day! Your mannerisms, talent, soft voice and the attention to detail are second to none! I absolutely love your work! Natalie is stunning! Her eye color! Omg! So pretty!!! Thank you for sharing your talents with us! Also. I very much appreciate the detailed explanation as you work! Soooo helpful!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
You know, it's very rare that I watch a makeup tutorial, but I am wanting to get better at applying my makeup and taking care of myself, so here I am. I have to say, I am in love with your approach to beauty, your gentle voice, and kind and caring attitude towards people. You clearly really know what you're doing, through much experience and trial and error, I'm sure! Usually, it gives me anxiety to watch makeup tutorials because everything seems so technical and precise and because I tend to compare myself to other women a lot. However, I've gotten a really good impression from your video and it makes me want to watch your other works. Thanks to this video, I see that I can be in control of my beauty. And that beauty is a gift to be shared! Thanks for the product suggestions and the detailed and gentle approach :)
I just have to say im only up to 4:11 and i am so relaxed watching you cleanse and moisturise the lady’s skin first, she really looks like she could fall asleep so relaxing! Magic hands I’m subscribing ☺️
5:40 TRUTH! I love how you reaffirm that ‘texture is NORMAL!’ Seriously tho, I don’t think i have ever once heard anyone say that! I mean yes, of course we all ‘know’ this, BUT it just does something completely when it’s coming from a professional makeup artist who is *literally* doing a video on someone who, yes, had textured skin. Simply reminding people that *real life is NOT instagram* is a simple sentiment that is seldom - IF EVER said OUT LOUD during a make up tutorial! 👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️
I cannot explain to you how much it means to me by hearing you talk about how having textured skin is naturally okay. I have a brown skin tone the acne on both sides on my cheeks caused darker pigmentation in the area (think pikachu) I don’t like having my hair up and sometimes I don’t even like looking In the mirror on some days; I’m 17 so it’s hard for me being in school seeing everyone else talk about skin I just laugh it off.
I really had to stop the video in the mid and appreciate you for saying that its normal to have acne .. as people take us as someone from another planet or they consider it an unusual thing.. ❤
So grateful you did this! I also suffer from rosacea and struggled to get coverage, but ended up with cakey and melting makeup. Seeing this made my day! I often prefer a more natural look, as I don't like the heaviness of products on the skin. Hopefully that I can acquire this look, with a similarity of products that I can find. Thank you Spencer! ❤️❤️
Yeah, all the skincare in this video had me cringing. I can only imagine how bad she flared after this. Too much rubbing, too many irritating essential oils, and then an acid on top of it? 😬 I wish more people were educated on the difference between rosacea pustules and acne.
Have you watched cassandra bankson here on RUclips? She's an expert on acne prone skin. Most of her videos are about acne skincare. I highly recommend her. My skin has never been better since watching her and Nadine baggott.
I have mild rosacea and I’ve been on the search for something to cleanse my face without breaking It into tiny red bumps, after watching your videos I had to order It! You’re love for makeup and skincare made me trust the purchase, I’ve been using it for a week now and my skin feels so good and clean and It doesn’t irritate it AT ALL, thank you so so much! I also bought the dalba spray and omg It changed my dry skin especially with my make up! Couldn’t thank you enough!
Very professional and knowledgeable artist! All these tips are very useful even for a 58 year old chick who is trying to age gracefully. No ps or botox for me. This young lady is a doll
Breathtaking and incredible -she's such a beautiful girl! If our skin is the canvas, the canvas frame is our bone structure, and when you have stunning bone structure whatever you put over the canvas is going to look phenomenal! Make-up is art!
I love that you did a tutorial on textured skin. Natalia is naturally a beautiful woman and with your amazing skill her skin was flawless and beautiful. I applaud your talent and your narrative is so thoughtful and nurturing. Thank you Spencer for showing us how to care for our textured skin. Loved it... love watching you.🌟💖
Your hands look so graceful and gentle when cleansing her skin! Just watching that is so relaxing! Thank you for your artistry! The model is beautiful! 💗💗

I love the way you did this makeup and explained everything. You feel like a really nice, soothing person. It's great how you treated her as well. It's the little details that tell about us and I'm really glad with this video. This was a great discovery!
Thank you, Spencer, for being honest about skin texture. My skin is beautiful and probably the best it’s been in years, after struggling with nodular acne( and still a bit on occasion). Yet I still see my large pores, which I know are normal, and perfectly natural for my skin type.
This is exactly what I needed on a quiet Wed night. I always learn something from watching your videos, Spencer. I was so excited to see that you were working on someone with textured skin. Thank you so much. Btw, I love listening to your voice, it's very soothing and helps me relax after a hectic day.
Omg!!! I’m just starting to venture into the world of doing others makeup and this tutorial has been so so informative and helpful to me. I can’t say thank you enough!! ❤ I watch your videos daily because I had just come across them a few days ago so that’s all I watch from I wake up til I go to bed. And this one really got to me and I’m learning so much from you! I just wanna be small time. lol. Like weddings and prom and homecoming in my area or even starting a channel on RUclips of my own. I have been doing makeup on myself and friends forever and they all love it. So, again thank you from the bottom of my heart!! ❤
I got rosacea almost three years ago and before i used to do full glam and have clear skin but rosacea took away my confidence and im just starting to feel confident in my skin so i looked up for makeup with rosacea and you made me feel good about my skin! Thanks! New suscriber🙏🏻💗beautiful work btw
Spencer I think your attitude towards everything is so real and fresh ,,,,your a lovely person,,,very relaxing to watch and your super talented,,,thanks for keeping it real and inspiring to us all out there ,,, amazing work ❤
I can´t help but admire not only the handiwork and artistry, but also the commentary, the effortless flow and information that contains, well done, currently my favourite artist
Slayed it! Beautiful with and without the makeup. I love how you used a model with real skin issues that many of us deal with. I love that you also used a mix of high end and drugstore/cheaper brands! 💜
Spence, I have to say... Thank you for not only sharing your art but also being very realistic. Often times we compare ourselves with the beauties out there and our skin never looks like theirs and it's important to address that filters are used in videos and etc... Thank you also for being so empathetic and gentle. I struggled with "adult acne" (idk if that's the correct term, at least in my native language is... lol) and I felt so insecure about my skin and I've been treating and taking such good care of my skin, but as you said... it happens, we are humans, we have pores... Anyways.. hope this message of gratitude and love gets to you even if this video is a year old... hope you see this and feel loved as you make me feel! Thank you
i would love to see the makeup under natural light !! i feel like throughout the years I’ve learned how to make my skin look less textured with makeup but whenever i see myself in natural light, some of it is obviously still there and it’s so disappointing sometimes lol but this look is everything and her skin looks amazing
I’ve been following you for 2-3 years now Spencer. I have to tell you so that you know.. your positivity is inspirational. For the younger fans , please keep it up. Mwah 💋
Yes yes yes!!!!!! Thankyou for using a model with relatable skin. Most celebrity makeup artists are amazing and their work is fantastic but having a model with perfect skin helps too. So I’m so happy that you are showing us on a model that has skin that is relatable to so many of us !! I love that you don’t shy away from it and it’s so informative and will help so many people !!!! Love this spencer !!! Hats off to you ❤️❤️🙌🏼🙌🏼
I wish more makeup artists used models with rosacea/acne and blemishes. This video made me feel so much less self conscious and less ashamed of my own struggles with acne, hyperpigmentation and redness. It's nice to feel that I'm not alone
Absolutely loved this, especially emphasizing that texture is 3d and the use of filters/lighting! Would also love to see your lighting/filming setup sometime (if you would like to share) because your videos are lit so well 💕
Wow, you are such a lifesaver. I'm currently dealing with a nasty flare up of dermatitis and my confidence is zero. I will try to recreate this when it calms down (cuz the texture tends to linger)
you could also try to avoid milk products which can exacerbate a skin condition. Personally if I eat fatty cheases or wiped cream 2 days in row, I see the pimples come up instantly all along the jaw line, around the mouth and neck. My cure is to drink lots of water and stay away from lactose :) except once in a while :)
Natalie amazingly stayed the same, she is recognisable after make up, such a wonderful job. Natalie is so beautiful - the eyes, the lips, the shape of her face and the artist just highlighted them without ruining her nature beauty. And he is so lovely and gentle 🤗🤗🤗
Your words are now my affirmations. 😂 “texture is normal and YOU ARE GORGEOUS BABY” yesss. I genuinely smiled watching your video. Thanks for your great tips.
This is amazing!! i love that you did a video focusing on more textured skin. Its great to see and its so educational for me as an mua. I always learn something new whenever I watch your videos. ☺
I respect the skills brought up into this makeup, final results are amazing! You're truly talented!! Only thing I don't think works on a skin condition that looks like an advanced rosacea (like on this case) is they way the skin was prepped. Maybe to prep for makeup but not for daily use. This type of skin is highly sensitive, it's obviosly inflamed, itchy, feeling tight and oil base products like a balm cleanser would feel very uncomfortable, specially if you are massaging it and therefore lifting more tempeture into the skin. Also AHA for this skin type would be a nono since again, would feel very irritant. The best textures for this skin type are gels, emugel and emulsions. No creams nor balms, and the the less ingredients, the better.
As a skincare consultant for very famous company, I totally agree with that. Love Spencer, but the ingredients on the products used are not suitable for sensitive or reactive skin at all.
I was wondering about that!! The skin looks so inflamed, and he said she has dryness around the cheeks, and then he puts on an exfoliant, it didn't make sense to me. Thanks, I was wondering if I was the only one bothered by it.
As someone suffering from Rosacea, I can totally agree. I hope her skin didn't get triggered by that vigorous massage and those ingredients. Rosacea skin is more sensitive than baby skin, even a slight shift in temperature can be a trigger
I can see how someone might think it’s acne or some other condition but truly anything inflamed or red should be treated as gentle as possible. I’m glad he did use the toner very lightly but as a licensed esthetician you’re right!
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH SPENCER ❤️❤️ this is exactly what I needed !! I have a very special event on Sunday and this is my exactly the makeup and the colors I intend to wear ! This is incredible, thank you ❤️

Natural? Lol I’m sure those lips are natural
@@partyisheree her lips are def natural
@@katm5903 ikr? im glad im not the only one noticing.. like eucalyptus & lavender on rosacea? no.
@@partyisheree look 100 percent natural
I love how you accent that gorgeous girl’s features. You’re a great artist and have such a kind spirit.
I appreciate the acknowledgement of how texture is normal and how it cannot ever be “completely covered.” Never heard a professional be honest and admit that. I envy the good skin ALL THE TIME. I needed that. Thank you.
I ordered this eyeshadow palette because of you!! xoxo
Hi Barbara, I need this palette too for my hazel eyes.
Thanks!!!
He's real, kind, and so uplifting. I love watching him
I love how honest you are. Never seen a makeup guru talk like this.
I love your honest, supportive, empathetic nature, Spencer. You’re an absolute gem 💎
“Keep in mind is filming in professional lighting, we are human. Texture is normal!” Aaaah love this makeup artist. So so lovely
Getting painted by Spencer HEAVY on the bucket list. Pampers the skin wile making you more beautiful 😭💕
Saaaame girl I would do just about anything to get painted by him. His talent is unfreaking real!
I love how gentle and kind you are with your models. I just found you and I'm literally binge watching all your videos and learning so much ❤
I have a brown skin tone the acne on both sides on my cheeks caused darker pigmentation in the area (think pikachu)
I don’t like having my hair up and sometimes I don’t even like looking In the mirror on some days;
I’m 17 so it’s hard for me being in school seeing everyone else talk about skin I just laugh it off.
but don't use this balm with rosacea...is has about 9 esencial oils - not very good for this type of skin:(
Yeah, all the skincare in this video had me cringing. I can only imagine how bad she flared after this. Too much rubbing, too many irritating essential oils, and then an acid on top of it? 😬 I wish more people were educated on the difference between rosacea pustules and acne.
Thank you for that honesty and that talk, especially for the younger group who watch your channel.
Thank u Spencer. I've had cystic ance since I was 15. It's not as bad as it's been, but I still have acne at 30. This video is a huge help.
Have you watched cassandra bankson here on RUclips? She's an expert on acne prone skin. Most of her videos are about acne skincare. I highly recommend her. My skin has never been better since watching her and Nadine baggott.
@@born_confused I'll check it out. Thank u. 😊
I love how positive and calm and kind you are. YOU, besides Hot and Flashy are my favorite make up professionals
Thank you for the great message about skin texture!!! It’s normal, beautiful, and we should embrace it. ❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely LOVE how honest you are about lighting and filters to set expectations!
I just love how encouraging you are when going over textures skin! ❤️. Definitely my fave artist to watch and learn from 💜
You are so gentle with your models, so sweet and charismatic. Love your consideration for everyone’s feelings.
Omg I almost broke a nail clicking on this video so fast! Spencer is the real MVP serving us tutorials we NEED!! ❤️
I love how you support people who have that kind of problems. You are sweet heart 💜
She’s gorgeous! Before and after makeup. Love the look! So beautiful!
You're such a sweet person Spencer. Your videos are always so soothing and therapeutic. Love you ❤Btw yes Natalie looks like Gigi a bit after makeup
I agree he’s just the sweetest. He has a beautiful heart ❤️
I totally agree.
Right ?! He’s taking so much time to prep her skin. He’s so nice
He is a SWEETHEART! I'm so glad his channel is booming.
Spencer I think your attitude towards everything is so real and fresh ,,,,your a lovely person,,,very relaxing to watch and your super talented,,,thanks for keeping it real and inspiring to us all out there ,,, amazing work ❤
I love how real you are. I’ve fallen in love with this channel! I’m so addicted I cannot go a day without my “helllooo *blink blink*”
I love that you are an artist and make mistakes while showing us how to fix it.... your the best
Just came across your channel and I have to say.. You are the realest most honest I have ever seen, keep it up!
I love this, great coverage on textured skin. I would love to see more matte looks too! Matte looks for really oily skin.
I can´t help but admire not only the handiwork and artistry, but also the commentary, the effortless flow and information that contains, well done, currently my favourite artist
She looks amazing and you did a fantastic look as always! I can’t get over her beautiful eyes, the colour is absolutely stunning! 💕
Skin care is everything! Thanks for reminding everyone. You are such real person.
Yesss please!!! Finally someone without perfect skin. Thank you 😊
Thank you
I love listening to him and his voice is soo soothing ♥️♥️what a talented, kind, and genuine person ♥️♥️♥️
i would love to see the makeup under natural light !! i feel like throughout the years I’ve learned how to make my skin look less textured with makeup but whenever i see myself in natural light, some of it is obviously still there and it’s so disappointing sometimes lol but this look is everything and her skin looks amazing
Hats off to you ❤️❤️🙌🏼🙌🏼
Love that you use a huge variety of models! After all …variety is the spice of life!
This was one 1.5k when I started, went up to 1.9k by the time I finished 😌 Spencer is a makeup genius!
Would also love to see your lighting/filming setup sometime (if you would like to share) because your videos are lit so well 💕
The vibe I get from you is that you are a very kind human, Spencer😘
Wow, you are such a lifesaver. I'm currently dealing with a nasty flare up of dermatitis and my confidence is zero. I will try to recreate this when it calms down (cuz the texture tends to linger)
you could also try to avoid milk products which can exacerbate a skin condition. Personally if I eat fatty cheases or wiped cream 2 days in row, I see the pimples come up instantly all along the jaw line, around the mouth and neck. My cure is to drink lots of water and stay away from lactose :) except once in a while :)
I would use the unscented versions of skincare. Essential oils like Lavender can be skin sensitising.
Tip for makeup: try using super fine powder, that kind of powder won’t further emphasize texture, it would actually have a filter effect on the skin.
May I add, any junk oils in chips popcorn cookies, etc can also make skin worse--my teenagers know
@@AT-cy7im you’re definitely on to something here….thanks. I love cheese but I guess it’s gotta go
Omg. I've never watched a makeup tutorial as pleasurable as this one. No kidding. Wow.
Natalie is so gorgeous and she looks amazing before and after the look! Thanks for the tutorial :)
Yesss acne! its so rare to see problematic skin love itttt
Flawless as always Spencer! Her green eyes are just stunning
And the sponge he’s using looked like if he had used it already before this make up tutorial….
That's so freaking good! I just wonder how is this gonna look like after several hours.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH SPENCER ❤️❤️ this is exactly what I needed !! I have a very special event on Sunday and this is my exactly the makeup and the colors I intend to wear ! This is incredible, thank you ❤️
Thank you for your not just encouraging words but also informative to us women ♥️
My daughter needs to hear this ♥️
