I loved doing this via video and think it will be especially fun to look back on in the years to come (also wishing that I would have done it 10 years ago to witness the difference between then + now).

I would love to work from home :) Very interesting ! I would love to see you creating a kit, how you design it, how you get your ideas, choosing the colors etc. Have you ever seen how it works on the production floor ? I mean, where your products are made etc. I am curious :)

At 62 I’m starting a business from home. I’m almost too chill. I find taking a walk with the dog mid day rejuvenates me so I see it as very productive - like your bath. Love your work style and attitude. Thanks for reaffirming what I perceived. Please make more of these as it was inspiring. Oh and freeze framed that book stack for a reading list!

Thanks Ali! I really enjoy these "behind the scenes" type videos. I enjoy the glimpse into your workday, and it also gives me ideas for my own work from home set up and schedule. (sometimes a lunchtime bath is a great thing!)

Power to working at home... before working at home was "cool." Same here; since 1996. You've taken a great deal in stride, Ms. Ali. So wonderful to observe how Simon and Anna, your business, and now extended immediate family have blossomed over the years. Folks such as yourself have been a mainstay during the pandemic as well. It’s fun to share the flow of your day. Even though I knew it wasn’t true, part if me imagined you just scrapping all day. And sometimes I thought I wish I could do that too. But I knew that so much more went into your work life of course. It was a fun glimpse.
So much more :).
This was so fun! I would be perfectly okay not leaving the apartment every day, but it would drive my hubby nuts! I also don't have a very big work space, so anything like what you are doing would be hard.
Right now I'm a dietary aide at a senior living community, and I absolutely LOVE my job! I rarely feel like I don't want to go to work in the morning. I also walk, my job is a block away (a huge reason we picked this apartment!) I worked all through COVID, as my job is essential, and we have to take care of and feed our residents. It sure has changed A LOT since before COVID, though!
This was fun to see! I find other businesses and how they work so interesting, and I enjoyed getting a peak into what you do. Thanks so much for sharing!

I love that you did this! You seem so chill all the time too, I tend to get flustered and irritated with deadlines sometimes and work too late. I try to tell myself that no matter how long I work there will always be a huge to-do list 😝
So true Jen. "Just one more thing" so often turns into working until 6:30 pm before I realize it!
I am WAY MORE chill today than I was five or ten years ago. I lived for many, many years where I had very few work-related boundaries (made easier when you enjoy what you do) and where everything was a FIRE and THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. There are definitely still times when I get flustered, irritated and work too much...but it's way more even than it was a number of years ago. A lot of that for me was marrying someone who is way more life focused vs. work focused. Work in progress.
Pro tip: you can watch movies at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.

I work from home too but nothing creative. I love working from home as well ! As always, love your videos ! This was very interesting - and thank you for putting in so much effort and mindful consideration into your products. It's amazing all the work that goes into a kit and you put one out every month along with all the other things that you do - videos, speaking etc. As a crafter, I appreciate it and love the quality of the products as well as the connection to them for my stories! This will be a great one to watch for my sister and I's craft night tonight!

Love it, thanks for sharing! I feel like I'm like you, I'm loving work from home life. I love the freedom and flexibility, and the extra time with my family. Contemplating how I can shape that going forward. I just got a teaching license (secondary ELA) but I'm tutoring for a company right now because I live with an at-risk family member.

I have a small basket in here that I can add them to or I just take them down to the laundry when I refill my water glasses.
