do they sound good?
Good evening merv, I was impressed with your diligence in this task, however although it’s ‘nice’ to have ‘fixed’ your car by doing this, are you not concerned with the more pressing issue of your steering wheel being on the wrong side of the car? My advice is not to drive it at all until you have it repaired and moved back over to the correct side.
Chris, I'm beginning to believe you might live in a foreign country .... like California.

Excellent job and Great video
Hi, thanks for the video. Will this work for a 2004 cadillac SRX?
Our "deep dive" video might have some more answers for you. It's located here --->. ruclips.net/video/VIxgSQoOU94/видео.html Different cars have different radios, but there are a lot of similarities. What matters most is the type of "head unit "you have. There are inputs on the back of your Radio/CD player (head unit) that will tell the story. I recommend researching the make and model number of that head unit and you may be able to find out if it can take the kind of inputs required. Do your research and, as always, take necessary safety precautions. Thanks for viewing, Penelope. I sure do hope you'll subscribe. It's the highest honor a simple man like myself could ever wish for. -Mervin
I have a 2005 Hyundai sonata gls I want to put an auxiliary port in can it be done
It depends on the type of head unit you have and if it has a hookup for an aux input.
Lawyers, Ozzie. Lawyers.
It may sound silly but I wonder if the USB port can be used for music play on a flash drive or it is only for charging??By the way is even the Auxalillary input connected that to the audio system of the car,I didn't see any connections being made for that purpose. Thanks!
Good question. My best answer is that the function of the ports would depend on the head unit that is receiving them, of which there are countless varieties. The one that we used in the demonstration is listed in the link below the video as an FYI. Thanks for watching and please be sure to like & subscribe. -Merv Himself
Hello , tje usb socket is for charge or for Pen Drives to listen music? Thanks
great video! I like it and helps to get an idea of how to do it! but would this work for a 2007 Toyota Corolla?
Thanks, yingchi! Basic oil change procedures are pretty universal from one car to another, but the location of things is going to vary slightly. My video gives you a good overview of how we did it on this particular Toyota, but it's always very important to check your car's owner's manual, not only for recommended procedures, oil types, etc ... but also for safety precautions. Remember, before you start messin' around under a car, you want to make sure it is cool and that you have jacked it up in the safest way possible. Feel free to use my videos for general concepts, but also do a healthy amount of research before attempting your own repairs/maintenance and check with other professionals you may have access to. I mean, I know a lot, but I'm no God. Close, but not quite! :) Hope this helps. And thanks a million for watchin' ! -Merv Himself
Hi Yingchi! Merv sometimes drifts between dimensions and starts blabbing about oil changes instead of AUX JACKS! To answer your question better, let me tell you that every car really is a bit different, but there are a lot of common procedures and things to look for. For one thing, it really depends on the specifics of your current head unit. The inputs you need would be located on the rear of it and if they are there, it's a fairly simple hookup. Rather than yanking the thing out to check, you might be able to do some googling in order to find the tech specs of your unit. The kid's car that we were working on did NOT have those hookups, plus he wanted a nicer head unit, so Merv upgraded. But like Merv said when he was babbling about old changes, with a little research and asking around, you can find the answers you need before ripping your car apart. And always be safe, Yingchi. There's power behind that dashboard! -Demille Vantigo , filmmaker for Merv's Service Secrets. www.MervServe.com

Will this work on a 2000 Acura TL?
will this method work on a 2003 land rover?
Hello Merv, do you mind sharing your part number so that I can see if it will fit my cars. Seems like the hardest part for me so far in this process is finding the US part. Thx Michael
Hey, Howdy, Hi there Mike! Thanks for watching. Finding the USB install kit should be quite easy. It's actually a pretty simlple device. There are some links in the description that will help you. Both for the USB AUX JACK device and the PIONEER CAR STEREO we installed it into. Hope this helps. -Merv Himself
Gloves ad safety glasses😂😂😂🙅🏽♂️
Our legal department is overly-cautious in my opinion.
mans a legend
🤔 is that aux able to play music from the radio if you hook a Bluetooth transmitter to it?
Seems like that could work. Might depend on the type of radio though.
It's easier if you just install a CD player single din, with an Auxiliary input Jack, that comes built into it. Less hassle, and you'll still have your 12V power outlet.
Thanks, Gravecb7. Might be a good alternate method.
go merv!

I'm thinking "take her easy" could be Mervism #17!
Pipe down, Demille. Git workin' on that next video!
can this be done on any 2000 year car or is the set up different depending on the model/make?
Depends on the type of stereo you have and what kind of hookups it has behind it.
Ya video wasn't help but ya made me laugh keep up the good work :)
Glad you enjoyed
Would this work on an 06 Camry LE
It really depends on the type of head unit currently installed.
Merv's Service Secrets it’s a 86120aa160
Bascially, you need to look at the aux port you are installing as an extension of whatever your car stereo allows. If the back of that head unit has usb and mini-jack, then you just run cables from the auxilliary jack to those input ports on the back of your unit.
where did that pre wired aux cable come from? is there a video?
It's just a standard mini plug cable that I had already plugged into the rear of the head unit. Demille couldn't jam his camera back behind there and I didn't want to remove the head unit, so I just left the wires prepped and dangling for purposes of illustration. More details are in the Uncensored Version if you're interested ---> ruclips.net/video/VIxgSQoOU94/видео.html
Merv's Service Secrets interesting that there's even a plug available in the back of the unit like that
In my situation, I bought a new unit that had those inputs. Believe it or not, I've also seen some head units that already have the inputs, but they are just not hooked up. Hope this helps. -Mervin
Here's a humdinger of an example. igirder.com/sonyback.jpg
Just what I'm looking for. No more "Stogie lighter".
Your voice is awesome
Thanks a lot, JP! I reckon it was all those years of opera training.
Does this require a upgraded deck? Or can it be done with stock radio
Hi Dayne and thanks for watching. It really depends on the specifics of your current head unit. The inputs you need would be located on the rear of it and if they are there, it's a fairly simple hookup. Rather than yanking the thing out to check, you might be able to do some googling in order to find the tech specs of your unit. As always, be safe and take all necessary precautions before you start messin' with something that's got power running to it. Cheers and best of luck . Please keep us posted on your findings. -Merv
Is it just plug and play with the connections?
Yes, the headunit we purchased just had simple plug in connections on the back. One was a USB port and the other was for an audio mini plug.
17 hits...lmao...
My car has an aux mode but no aux input, would this still work? My car is a 2006 Ford 500
Hi Nick. And thanks for watching. Honestly, I'm not sure about the answer to your question, but I do know this: the stereo head unit in your car is more important than the car itself. I would suggest researching the specs of that particular head unit and that should give you the answers you need. Thanks for joining the Mervolution! -Merv Himself
Hey merv.where did you find that little aux port insert?
Check the comments section under the video. I had Demille put a bunch of links in there to help ya. And thanks for watching! -Merv
@@MervsServiceSecrets cool thanks buddy
works for apple car play? android auto?
If I recall, that particular unit only does android auto. But they probably have updated software now for some of their models. The sound quality of the head unit really made the medicore speakers sound great!
@@MervsServiceSecrets thank you very much for the reply sir, another question, hows the usb aux extension cable holding up?

Do you have to have a prior connection for a USB and AUX cable orrrr
Hi l!on. Thanks for viewing. It's a fairly simple hookup. But it depends on existing head unit and if it has the inputs you need. Brilliant
Hey Merv! Just wondering if there's a way to install this to an OEM stereo that doesn't have AUX? Like is there an aux input adapter I can buy to connect it with this? I bought the AUX jack without knowing that my radio needs to have the cable to make it work.
Hard to advise on your specific situation since there are so many variables. The video we made specifically applied to our situation because the head unit had Aux inputs in the back for mini plug as well as USB, so we connected our cable extenders to those for easy hookup. You'll see that in our extended cut at around 10 or 11 minutes in. We always try to show some additional considerations with a dash of humor in those extended cuts... so I might suggest checking out that "Problems & Pitfalls" video at the below link. Of course, we can't tell you what to do, we can only show you what WE did in our car, but I hope this helps. -Merv ruclips.net/video/VIxgSQoOU94/видео.html
I just bought a 3.5mm Jack AUX Interface Adaptor yesterday. Basically a box with an AUX, USB, and SD card port. I'm wondering if I can hook this socket and cables up to those slots. The adapter interface has a connector that connects right into the CD changer port in the back of my OEM unit.
Jimmy, I wish I could be of more assistance, but I have to be honest regarding the fact that I don't know enough about the specific interface you are describing. If it was me, I would contact the manufacturer of that adapter, or go to their website for more information on how the unit pairs up (or doesn't) with your existing equipment. Make sure everything is compatible and, as always, be careful.
Well, I'll install it and keep you posted with updates. Then you can make a similar video with an factory head unit! I'm hoping I'm thinking this all correctly. All this just to install AUX to my radio without changing to an aftermarket head unit.
Thanks, Jimmy. Yes, please keep us posted regarding your progress. Do your research, not just by watching my videos, but by cross-referencing with as many experts as you can. As always, be safe, have fun, and keep it simple. - Merv
