I think the team sales so much that the city uses that tax they earned from that to make the improvements and the city still ends up profiting. Think about it. So many tourist come to see the Chiefs. That means the city gets to collect the taxes on all of those tourist for every little thing they buy while in kansas

The people in the comments have no idea what they are even talking about. I don't know if these are actual Chiefs fans or haters just here still mad they lost and trying to put shame on Clark Hunt. Not knowing this renovation has been planned and was waiting to go to vote. It was unveiled the same day the grades came out. Clark knows the facilities need upgrading. Which is why they have been working on the renovation. But for Kansas City natives and or Chiefs fans to talk the way they are about the 1 thing that keeps this city even registering on a map. What him and his father and family have done for this city and you are going to treat him like that? You are an embarrassment to the city. And for the love of God. Enough with the Dome. Same goes for the Royals in my opinion. Losing professional sports teams is a bad look for a city and pro teams give cities character and personality. Think of how many more people are aware KC even exists thanks to the Chiefs and Royals. It's pretty disappointing to see so many people opposed to helping our teams despite the championships they've recently won. The reality is that cities like KC need to give teams an incentive to stay and all they ask is that Jackson Co. extends a sales tax that's already on the books. Most people hardly even notice it. It's pathetic that people would rather see KC turn into another irrelevant Midwestern city than pay a couple cents more at the store so they can stick it to the owners who keep pro teams in KC when they could just as easily move them and make more money.

It's going to be pretty sad if KC loses the Chiefs and/or Royals because bums refuse to pay a couple of cents more at the store (that they're already paying and probably not even noticing). Both teams could probably move and make more profit in a bigger market so yes, we do need to give them incentives to stay. Or we could just turn into another irrelevant, soulless Midwestern city that nobody's ever heard of so that you can stick it to owners who are will to sacrifice bigger profits to keep teams in KC. This closed mindedness leads to nothing but mediocrity.
For the next 25 or 30 years, the tax is a 40 year extension, so in 25 years when the new lease is up, theyll want a new stadium and we will still have 15 years taxes to pay off the old ones renovations?

I’d also bet if you look at the charitable contributions of the Hunt family, it’s hundreds of millions a year. A lot of that going to KC, not to mention the player’s own charities.

So basically only the Hunts benefit from this on game days financially. While we pay most of it, just for 8 homes. We need some type of Dome (entertainment center) for other major events to occur outside the NFL season & Hopefully Invest something for the players team faculty's with your money first. The rolling roof idea from 2005 is better plus no rules say you have to roll it over on game days lol you'll keep the Arrowhead mystic if you like.
If the owner of the chiefs wants me to pay for a home for his team, I want Clark Hunt to pay for a home for my team aka family.
Upgrades are rather underwhelming. Still doesn't bring Arrowhead in line with the most recent stadium builds.
All these seemingly small improvements add up to a much better experience that is no small thing at all. The reorientation and upgrades to the parking lots alone represent a huge benefit, and involve much more planning and site work than most people can imagine. The property is publcly owned. It would be great if this whole part of town could be reinvigorated with new economic development, justifying a thriving entertainment district with transit connections to the rest of the city and surrounding communities. But that would require competent public officials with the imagination and courage to allow for it, and an electorate who believe themselves worthy of such an inspired vision. The miserable secondhand losers in this thread have no idea how much economic value, tax revenue and vitality are delivered to the city by their sports teams. They don't care, and they don't matter. Plus, anyone crying for a dome can just gtfo.

Well, that would be a lot more money. Arrowhead has a lease till the mid 2030’s, so they can’t really move the stadium. It seems most people don’t want a new stadium & dint want to help pay for this one. I think Clark should look at going somewhere else then.

The canopy may be practical, but the aesthetics are ugly. The canopy has that cheap, low rent tacked-on look that doesn't match the elegant, sweeping lines of the original Arrowhead skyline. That may be unavoidable? But worth at least trying alternative renderings where the canopy doesn't look quite so awful.

I just don’t like how they make little to no changes it’s very cheap if you ask me. Trying to establish something new in our minds you can’t force it (Hunt Family) stop trying to shove this down our throats is very basic we don’t view this how you all are trying to make us view it .The players should have more commodities and it seems the renovations are for people with lots of money nonetheless they don’t seem eye popping also . Clark Hunt is really putting an blanket of criticism over himself
