Link is able to drink booze. Link has to be at least 25 years old because of one main reason. Mattison Hudson’s daughter. First of we don’t even see her in breath of the wild so we can assume she was born around a year later. Second in the time of tears of the kingdom she’s said to be 7 years olds so at least 8 years have passed making Link 25 so he’s very eligible to drink booze😊 Second fav:the suns location changed probably because the earth moves around the sun so yea
I think that the botw and totk games are a parallel universe. The same sort of stuff happens, but at different times. I dunno, but I am kinda sort on it.
Personally I think tears of the kingdom isn't that great I think it's good don't get me wrong but if you list all the major story beats it's the same. Wake up on the great plateau Wake up on the great sky Islands Meet an old dead king of Hyrule Meet an old dead king of Hyrule After collecting the four abilities from the four shrines he tells you to to kakariko village. After collecting the four abilities from the four shrines he tells you to to lookout landing. You meet an old shika woman. she tells you to go solve the problems of the four other kingdoms. You meet an old shika woman. she tells you to go solve the problems of the four other kingdoms. Afterwards you're told of a fifth dungeon. Afterwards you're told of a fifth dungeon. And after beating all the dungeons you go fight Gannon after you beat him once transforms into a giant monster that you take down with the help of Zelda. And after beating all the dungeons you go fight Gannon after you beat him once transforms into a giant monster that you take down with the help of Zelda. I still like the game it just doesn't different. Feels to similar with the ancient technology from a race long gone.
@@UnsaidLies but the rest…. Ultrahand, fuse, recall, ascend, all the mechanics, make it amazing, the depths too, sky islands, I can’t name it all. Don’t base the game on the story, there are way more fun elements to it. And I don’t think there was a 5th dungeon presented in botw, (it got presented on dlc).
Another thing: Ganondorf's Puppet Zeldas all appear as Zelda in her zonai outfit because, at that time, that's what Ganondorf remembered her as. The Yiga Zelda Disguises however, are of Zelda in her Champion's attire, which would make sense since that's what the Yiga Clan sees of her in Breath of the Wild
With the Mipha statue, I always saw it being central in the Domain as being a sign of the Zora refusing to move on because Mipha’s loss was so prevalent in their memory. Now that Mipha’s spirit has been appeased and her loss revenged, they can move on. So why not honor the two who did that and move Mipha to where she is the source of the Zora’s water? They don’t have to dwell on her loss anymore, let where she is being a place of peace and renewal.
Plus, they are still honoring her with Mipha's court. Having the Statue in a shrine dedicated to her memory is only fitting. She's literally overlooking the domain.
I never thought of it like that. I always hated the fact that they moved miphas statue, mind you when I first cleared the gunk and saw it was link riding Sidon I was furious! But yeah the way you described it, makes sense and calms my fury somewhat lol
Yeah, I liked that they moved her statue to a place of "peace and restoration" where you can pilgrimage to enjoy the peace of nature and wellspring; away from the bustle of town.
They mention that they moved Miphas statue to ploymus mountain so she could overlook the entire domain. Plus, I think it's a sweet gesture, giving her her own sanctuary for people to come and thank her for her service to the domain
It also represents that they've moved on from their grief rather than clinging to it like they were before. They still revere her, but they're not actively mourning her all the time now.
Something I loved because I decided to do a replay of the beginning of the game, is that the first construct who gives you the Purah pad tells you that Zelda is waiting at the Temple of Time for you. And before you complete the Great Sky Island questline, the light dragon does loops in front of the platform she transformed on - she's literally waiting for you. Once you finish the quest and the cloud barrier breaks, she starts her loops around Hyrule.
A few things I noticed relating to some of the lore bits: 1. In Ganondorf’s character log (unlocked after beating the game) it acknowledges that the castle was used to imprison him, but not only that, but the Great Calamity weakened the castle’s foundations, which in turn weakened the seal and let Ganondorf break free. 2. In Yona’s character log, it says that she came from another domain which confirms there are civilized lands beyond Hyrule that even have similar races. I’m hoping that gets explored in the next game
There’s multiple lands out of Hyrule that are confirmed to exist. Labrynna, Holodrum, Hytopia. I won’t include Termina and Lorule because they are separate dimensions.
The fact Yona is from another Zora’s Domain makes me wonder if she might have been a very important person in that domain? If she is then that would cause Sidon and Yona’s marriage to bind the two domains together despite marrying out of love!
1:00:20 actually, if you talk with Zelda during the prologue she mentions that King Rhoam actually forbid her from going under the castle, presumably implying that he was aware of Ganondorf or at least of something evil being located down there. In fact, we can learn a lot from the things she mentions during the opening.
she says that her father, king Rhoam forbid her because it was a rule that no one could break including him or any other royal member, not even king Rhoam himself knew what was under the castle, but since it was a rule passed down through countless generations, he simply followed said rule without questioning the why, the only reason Zelda went down there with link is because she noticed that the origin of the gloom was under the castle itself.
The treasure inside the statue of the Eighth Heroine is the Tingle Hood. Tingle is male. The Eighth Heroine is male. The Gerudo didn't want to let the Eighth Heroine into their town. Do we *really* have no clues as to who the Eighth Heroine could be?
At 30:10 with the tunic of the depths. When you meet a new bargainer statue he says “me and my brethren have combined our powers to create ___” meaning the armor didn’t exist until that moment. I think they created the armor to help link specifically. Being from the depths and having the knowledge of the depths, id think they know about gloom and how it harms any mortal beings.
Number 70 is pretty simple, the sun is in a deferent position due to the changing of seasons, in TotK you can start finding pinecones so it is probably taking place in early autumn or so, as opposed to BotW where it takes place in maybe spring or summer? So the sun isn’t in a different position due to the upheaval cause by Ganondorf, but if it was, that would be really impressive on his part.
Fun fact, in the depths below each of Zelda's memorials, there's three spirits with undamaged weapons rather than the typical single soldier you'll find.
Here's a bit of Gannondorf stuff for you. When you go to fight him, he's sat on a platform made of what looks like gloom-tainted roots, with the gloom in it visibly pulsing upwards towards where he is sat atop it. Out in the Depths on the floor you'll occassionally find these gloom-tainted roots which will sap your hearts just like gloom itself does if you touch them. While I've probably not found all of them by a long-shot, every one of them that I have encountered share a neat little thing. If you check the orientation of them, they point back towards Hyrule Castle where Gannondorf is. The Gloom, which saps the life energy of everything that touches it, the roots radiating outwards from the platform on which he sits which is visibly feeding something to him, it's like the roots are feeding it all back to him. That's how he's regaining his strength, by using the life sapped from the people and creatures of Hyrule. It would also go in part to explain why Rauru and the Ancient Sages had such a problem fighting him. They were fighting someone who could sap their strength (and the strength of anyone else in Hyrule at that time who had also come into contact with Gloom) to become his own. Only the powered-up Master Sword could render that ability moot by simply overwhelming whatever pace of recovery that ability gave him :) Edited to add the location of one of them: If you go to the Nogukoyk Lightroot north of the Great Abandoned Central Mine, head west on the same floor level as the Lightroot. Right against the cliffwall directly north of the e/o in "Grove of the Spirits" on the map, you will find one of the roots. Line yourself up with the length of it and open your map, and you'll see you're facing in the exact direction of Hyrule Castle :D
Honestly, I think there's another reason why they couldn't beat Ganondorf: they literally couldn't even put a single scratch on him. The fact that Zelda felt inspired by a chip of the master sword actually managing to put a scratch says as much,
@@darkmonger6244not necessarily just the light dragon, they made a big deal to point out just how long she spent charging the sword. If she left a dulled master sword with the great deku tree for the 100 years link slept, and it was able to scar Ganondorf like that, a sword healed and charged for 1000000000 years would definitely get the job done, whether it's from the light dragon or not. Clearly the Deku tree has some sacred light powers if it can also charge the sword.
@@sinteleon They couldn't beat him because they aren't supposed to be able to, Link the Hero with the fully charged Master Sword can do that canonically. it is why with him goner, Zelda could only contain the Calamity, and Rauru only imprison Ganondorf in the past in TOTK.
The logo doesn't show the Master Sword being transformed into an energy blade, it's a split image showing half of the Master Sword geoglyph and the decayed Master Sword - referencing two of the most important story elements.
If you played BotW with the DLC, you may remember the fifth Divine Beast buried under the Shrine of Resurrection, which never had a name. I believe that if the Divine Beasts really do get their names from the sages in TotK, then there must only be one option for BotW’s fifth beast. Divine Beast Vah Mineru.
I do see this as a viable conclusion to draw, yet all 4 Devine beasts are named for specifically oot sages. Considering the location as so near the temple of time, I would guess va raru, or va saria 🤔
@@jessieferguson4054 you seem to be forgetting that Vah Medoh is named for Medli, from The Wind Waker. The Sages of the Zonai era definitely share a connection with the Divine Beasts (looking at the helmets and so on), but we know from Urbosa that Vah Naboris was named after Nabooru. Could it not be the case that the world leaders took on new names when they became Sages (so the Sage of Fire takes on the name Rudania in honour of Darunia) and then Vah Rudania was named after him, making it a chain leading back to the OoT/WW Sages? Rauru may have adopted the name when he came to interact with the Hylians, to suggest to them what sort of an entity he is by mirroring the historical figure. Unlike the others, he's a different species to his namesake so he didn't feel the need to alter the name slightly. So given now that the Divine Beasts may be named after the Sages of the Zonai era, who are named after Sages from the OoT/WW era, it makes more sense to me that Maz Koshia's Divine Beast would be Vah Rauru.
@@xinpingdonohoe3978 your right about ww, and darunia I think is majora's mask too now that I think about it. Rauru must share a certain connection to oot rauru though, as he, in oot, is both light sage and an owl, and has the title lord of owls in totk. At this point I think botw, hyrule warriors, and totk, are the result of a timeline merger caused by (spoiler warning!) zelda's time travel in totk. It's possible that zelda might even have jumped realities to an alternate hyrule. The map layout is loosely based on NES zelda. Zelda even calls link "hero of hyrule" in botw (a title for the NES link). The scene of Gannon pledging loyalty to king rauru mirrors the oot scene, yet in totk, gannon doesn't dramatically look out the window to young oot zelda (perhaps zelda's appearance in the past influenced the birth of oot zelda? What if the king and queen were destined to get it on and make a zelda, but were distracted by company?). As interesting as this might be though, if we were to take rauru at his word as the founder of hyrule, then it would place these events muuuuuuuch earlier than NES zelda. In the Nes version of zelda 2, it mentioned that the first zelda was put into a deep sleep hundreds of years before Nes zelda 1. That would mean totk's time travel would have taken zelda back to between skyward sword and Nes zelda. This doesn't work though. The physiology of the geirudo doesn't match up. Pointy ears are a hylain trait. The geirudo we see in past and present totk have green eyes and pointy ears. Gannon totk and oot have round ears and yellow eyes as well as the oot geirudo. This means the Gannon and the geirudo in totk are the decents of Gannon oot. Hylians interbreeding with geirudo would explain the change in ears and eyes. Thus the switch trilogy must take place in an alternate timeline long after the events of spirit tracks and phantom hourglass.
@@jessieferguson4054 you are correct about the Gerudo; it's actually the Gerudo from the memories that proves Rauru didn't found the *first* Hyrule. The common Gerudo vai have pointed ears and green eyes way back in the Zonai era. The Gerudo gaining these traits is because of generations of breeding with Hylian men - there's only one Gerudo male per century, and both are human races (descended from Skyloftians). It's a noted evolution that famously occured *after* OoT. It's probably the case that every part of TotK and BotW happens long after any other games. Which timeline isn't clear, but doesn't need to be. Hyrule Warriors, a probably Child Timeline game, ended up connecting with the Adult Timeline (makes sense, since they are parallel unlike the Downfall Timeline). Something there probably messed everything up. Maybe even Cadence of Hyrule shares some blame; that had characters time travelling, like a bunch of other games. Everything could just be collapsing a bit from all the time manipulation. I suppose the references (Ganondorf bowing in fealty to the king, Koume and Kotake being his retainers) could be history repeating itself, maybe due to the repeating spirit of Demise. Zelda's time travel is weird. We know timeline splits can still happen, since Terrako split the BotW timeline. From the BotW timeline he sucked the Champion successors, and back there he sent them after his new timeline's problems were solved. Rauru claims that Zelda's timeline didn't have a Zelda appear in the past, but that seems to be wrong. The mural of the Light Dragon's birth was already there, so he must have been wrong about his claim. I'm not sure. It's all very odd, but it does give us a lot to think about.
something i find fascinating is the fact that Zelda's secret stone was Rauru's and Ganondorf's was Sonia's. combined with Link's arm (also courtesy of Rauru), in the final fight it's like the remnants of those two pitted against one another, and then in the end they combine forces to bring Zelda back to human form.
Full on power of love trope! Sonia and Rauru's love combined lead them to defeat Ganondorf, where they can finally have peace together, but they also combine their love to power Link and Zelda's love for each other, so they can go back to bringing hope and prosperity to the next generation of Hyrule. Love to see it!
Even if that isnt the case, Gloom also existed when Rauru fought him. I wouldn't be surprised if the robes were created AFTER the imprisioning war as a consequence of seeing it first hand
The horned statue actually tells you in your first interaction with it that it was moved away from hateno by Hylia herself because it continued to do it's deal with people. It isn't mentioned again, but the first you talk to the statue it tells you.
hylia hates him because he is a selfish deity that only helps people in exchange for money, money is all he cares about, hence why hylia moved him from hateno to below the earth, so no one could make deals with him again.
Something I noticed with the sky barrier is that its there even in botw, you can see the dragons go through a weird portal in the sky, and I wonder if thats why the light dragon broke this barrier in totk
I felt that the reason shrines corresponded to where lightroots were was cause they were similar to flowers, with the shrines being its bud and the lightroot its roots
I thought it was because the lightroots took the Light from the shrines and trapping it, so when link comes and releases the light, the depths get a bit more clear, thats my headcannon
@hananaltair3563 well yeah, that's what they do. But they can only do that bc the lightroots are physically connected to the shrines. Like its roots...
One small thing I found really interesting, is that Ganon refers to Sonia not as a Hylian- but as a *Hyrulean*. This implies that the land of Hyrule already existed and was known as such long enough for its people to be identified as such, even if it was not a kingdom yet. I feel that line alone has a lot of potential lore behind it, if it isn’t a mistranslation, that is.
@@coryfreake9070 it demonstrates how the "founder" Rauru just made/rebuilt another Hyrule, and not the first one we see starting from The Minish Cap, which was made by the descendants of Skyward Sword Zelda.
@@xinpingdonohoe3978It could be possible that Rauru's Hyrule is a separate Hyrule from Skyward Sword Zelda's Hyrule. This could be the reason for the civil/unification war that precedes Ocarina of Time. Basically, one of two things possibly happened: 1) SS Hyrule fought Rauru's Hyrule or 2) sometime before the war SS Hyrule and Rauru's Hyrule married into each other's families as a political move and folks who were against it rebelled and started the war. The other thing to note would be that SS Hyrule would have to have been located elsewhere since Rauru's Hyrule is originally on the plateau but moves to where it currently is once the imprisoning war (specifically of ToTK, not of BoTW) is over.
@@nicodalusong149 there is a slight chronological issue with that though, and it's to do with the Gerudo. It isn't clear which Skyloftians' descendants evolved into the Gerudo, but at some point it happened. All Humans lived in Skyloft, so that includes the pre-Gerudo. The first Gerudo had round ears, and this carried over into OoT. It wasn't until after this event that you would slowly see the evolution of pointed-ear Gerudo. The Gerudo vai seen have pointed ears, so this group, which exists alongside Rauru and Sonia timewise, must be post-OoT Gerudo.
Here's another bit of lore (or at least a fun fact), when you approach Yiga banana traps dressed in the Yiga Armor set, the Yiga member disguised as a banana will tell you to scram or Link will realize it's a trap. And if you go into Gerudo Town and switch clothes to the Yiga set, they will toss you into the jail with the other guy who tried entering to see his wife and daughter
@@EasyCure0 if you get thrown in jail bc you’re naked then while inside you change into the yiga set the guard will comment on the fact that while you did put on clothes like she asked, the yiga set isn’t what she wanted.
35:33 something that i love about this cutscene is how when the camera follows through all of the characters while ganon is looking at the secret stones, he only looks up when he gets to sonia, like he’s assessing who would be the best to target for their stone and lands on her. i know it’s probably kinda obvious, but when i noticed it i thought it was a super cool detail & good visual foreshadowing :0
14:18 Wait, what's wrong with the Water Temple? I loved the low gravity! 30:19 When you unlock the various parts of the set, the statues actually tell you they've just created the armor. SO I think that means it was literally just created specifically for the current Depths, not long ago 38:37 Another interesting note is that only Link can see those spirits. The Yiga have a notebook that talks about floating weapons but makes no mention of shadowy figures.
The Water Temple for me, felt like a Sky Temple just with water. It'd be so cool if that was the case. I think the Water Temple would have worked better as the Ancient Waterworks location. Or perhaps deeper within.
@@hedwigon6951how was it annoying? I found it fun and creative that the boss was two and one creatures that throw sludge at you- and it’s kind of gooey and cool
Yeah but I mean… absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. The outfits still could have been first created after the Imprisoning War back in the day, but they’re probably gone now. So the statues recreated it for Link as a thank you
Something I'm curious about is Sonia's tattoos since Rauru seems to lack them altogether and Mineru only has a teardrop tattoo on her nose which makes me think that her tattoos might not be a Zonai tradition but might be exclusive to wherever Sonia grew up and the tattoo of the royal crest is a symbol of her family heritage.
There’s one interesting thing I noticed about all the Zonai / Lomei Labyrinths. When you’re doing the quests, the voices that guide you and offer you their trials are referred to as rulers. The Ruler of Owls at the North Lomei Labyrinth. The Ruler of Dragons at Lomei Labyrinth Island. And The Ruler of Boars at the South Lomei Labyrinth. All three animals are depicted in multiple zonai architecture. Hard to say what it all means, I just found it all so interesting
Maybe a nod to Wisdom, Courage, and Power? The only animal mentioned that is tied to a character is the Boar with Ganon, but owls are often used as symbols of wisdom, and that leaves dragon as courage. Tho one could say it would take courage to undertake the process of draconification, so that could also be it?
Probably three different tribes? Whether they were even more ancient Zonai before Rauru or that they split up from the central Zonai group that descended from the sky.
also! the sky parts of the Lomei Labyrinths are labelled as "castles" which if we assume that in the past the labyrinths were actually all connected, it'd imply that the labyrinths are in fact the rulers' castles.
For the noble pursuit it is highly likely that it is not actually alcohol because first, the recipe when you cook it just contains fruit, and she states that she made this version for the new gerudo coming to town (mattison) meaning it is probably not alcohol
You’re right. I don’t understand how everyone doesn’t, but if you pay attention to the description, it clears it up. saying it’s a “VARIANT of the Noble Pursuit” “For EVERYONE”
I live in a town that is famous for its sangria, an alcoholic beverage that's made with fermented fruit. Sangria is made with grapes and some tropical fruits, and if think about it, it's kinda like fruit punch. There's also non alcoholic cider, which is made from apples, and also regular cider, which is fermented apple juice. I think it's the same with Noble Pursuit.
i think that while the adults get the regular the children and link get the kiddie version bc in botw 1 she specifically said "ur too younger for this drink" if you ask for a nobel pursuit
I always thought the Molduga being in the memories was interesting. Because in current times, the Molduga are considered ‘monsters’, their parts ruin dishes, they poof into malice/gloom when they die, and yet they existed before Ganondorf was even the Demon King. It could imply that they’re monsters made from the mere presence of Demise’s curse, but I think it’s a lot more interesting to say that Molduga are ancient creatures completely unrelated to monsters, but Ganondorf ‘recreated them’, loyal Molduga *copies* made of his power. It’s also interesting that they’re one of the only monsters to stay the same between both games, but idk what the implication there is.
That is, unless even the Raru and Sonia story is at the end of the Zelda timelines we know. Devs recently mentioned it could’ve been a “re-founding” of Hyrule.
i think that the moldugas are just "beasts" lynels are "beasts" lord of the mountain is a "beast" they aren't coherently evil, just violent, or bad omens the malice/gloom poof could be a gameplay choice
As fellow Tauro enjoyer, let me tell you, his reaction when you talk to him while wearing the Ancient Hero's Aspect is adorable. It's a one-time thing though; afterwards he talks as usual.
I just realized that the chasm holes that replaced where Sheika shrines were 9/10 have poes at the bottom as you hit the ground. Could it be the blue flame that powered sheika tech are poes/spirit of the after life. Doubling down on WHY Ganon was able to usurp control of guardians, divine beasts etc. pretty dark!!
@@griskin_8202 YES. It also might do a little more explaining as to WHY the sheika were questioned and outcasted after the calamity. Not only did the tech fail and turn against the people of hyrule but the method of powering it was a too nefarious for the what remained of hyrule to condone.

Hm, this could also explain why the light energy aura Rauru has is more green, while the Shiekha energy source is blue. Rauru having the power to *purify* with his light, and the 3rd eye (of enlightenment) symbolism could be interpreted as the zonai energy being spirit based, as previously theorized (luminous stones = crystalized spirit energy, the green glow matches the spirits of King Rhoam & champions). Whereas the sheikha, who have a history in a darker type of magic, probably have their energy based on unpure spirits. Could recontextualize the Shiekha tearing eye symbol with the new zonai lore. We now know zonai came first, we see the eye motif in zonai art but it's based on their 3rd eye. If the sheikha tried to recreate zonai tech, meaning they need to recreate zonai energy, and zonai energy is based on purified spirit energy, but the Shiekha lack the power of purification, they use the next best thing, Poe's (who's spirit hasn't passed on), their take on the eye symbolism can be read as their tribe being mournful, or regretful, of having to master a dark magic for a good cause? Idk I'm extremely tired rn haha
You're right on the mark about the 2 gerudo behind Ganon. I believe their sashes are marked with the names of the Twin Rova on the left. Probably serve different roles but they're definitely named after the twin rova
5:00 small correction: you are actually notified of this quest appearing at the temple of time. At certain times of day you can witness a large beacon of light coming from the temple when the quest is made available. 9:30 another thing worth pointing out is that some of the shrines in the sky are palindromes, or, spelled the same forwards and backwards, signifying that they have no counterpart in the Depths.
Interesting thing about the underground skeletons is that their anatomy closely resembles archosaurs like ancient crocodilomorphs, pterosaurs and DINOSAURS. They posses something called an antorbital phenestra which is the hole that is infront the eye sockets, which those skeletons have. Dinosaurs do exist in zelda, Dodongos are referred to as dinosaurs.
5:25 It's actually really interesting that you point this out. When I first started playing this gane, I really took my time on the Great Sky Island, trying to find any and every little tidbit of information I could, which included finding every place where Rauru's spirit would appear to talk to you. On the island with the pond that hovers above the lake to the East of the Temple of Time, Rauru will remark on it, saying "A sea of clouds... We must be at quite an altitude. There is no doubt that this is the Temple of Time. Which means we must be in the Garden of Time. But I remember it being on the surface. What has happened in the ages since?" When i first found this, it was huge to me, but more importantly for the topic on hand: Rauru simply didn't know. The islands were raised by the sages after his sacrifice, and by the current age, very little of the original sages' consciousness remain to even comnunicate their mission to their successors, let alone explain how or why the sky islands are in the form they are now. The only surviving person who knows what happened is Mineru, and since you don't encounter her until much later in the game, it almost feels more rewarding to find out in an obscure, simple way by completing the ceremony, same with completing the Messages from an Ancient Era side adventure.
This also way Rauru operates under the assumption that Zelda is waiting for you at the temple of time, as he has no way of knowing what actually became of her as her own sacrifice happened after his.
Regarding the Triforce: it's missing from BotW and TotK because in past games, it was usually attempted to be used by Ganon or some other force. It splits into the three parts and goes into Ganondorf, Zelda, and Link. Ganondorf never tried to take the Triforce, either in the past or in the game timeline itself, which is why it's missing. It's still intact in the Light Realm. As for the first king and queen, I don' think this is a rewrite of how Hyrule was formed as in with Skyward Sword - this is likely a 'New' Hyrule, reformed tens of thousands of years after the older games. People seem to not fathom how long 10,000 years is - kingdoms can rise and fall many times over in that time. That makes me think that the Forgotten Temple is where Hyrule was founded at the end of Skyward Sword, and the Great Plateau was where OoT took place. The current Hyrule Castle is in the middle, which is where Hyrule was refounded however long after Rauru and Sonia became the first king and queen, to seal Ganondorf. Every game before now likely took place many tens of thousands of years in the past.
I find it really interesting that the ancient Hylians wear very tribal clothing, with much aztec inspiration. I think the developers were trying to embrace South/Central American themes when designing the ancient Hylians because I think the Geoglyphs are based off the Nazca Lines in Peru, which were built as a ritual to the gods. (But I bet a lot of you had already thought of that.)
Fun fact: In one of Zelda's memories, when Rauru shoots that beam of light, we briefly see three triangles. Kinda like the Triforce, tho they are upside down
I get that a lot of fans have problems with the water temple (like that’s never happened before), but I actually enjoyed it. It was the first temple I did, so that may be part of why I liked it. I also saw the temples as more than what the map considers to be the temple. For me, the water temple starts as soon as you ascend the waterfall, and Sidon ditches you to explore on his own. My only real “problem” with the water temple was not knowing how to make the water wheels turn at first. But I think that was just because it was my first of the major dungeons, and I didn’t understand properly how Sidon’s ability worked. And the Zelink theory at the end? I mean, Zelink has always been headcanon for me. Every iteration of Zelda and Link have eventually gotten together in my mind. I’m just glad it’s finally (mostly) actual canon now.
Was way better than the Wind and fuck the Fire one was meh. Have yet to go the Gerudo... Seems enemies are getting harder with each 3 of the 4 sages I've gotten, so I've been just, combing the map from the very top left to the very top right, though I fucking hate shrines, so I just get to them for the fast travel so I can go back to them after a while. 8 hearts and 2 bars of stamina, and every amiibo card, so I get around easy enough lol... Maybe I should do those shrines so I can get more hearts they're just never any fun and more like Zelda Tears Solid: VR Missions than it feels like the game... Hated the shrines in BotW but they were better than these, and I hated the portals in Immortals Fenyx Rising which might as well be Assassin's Creed: Breath of the Wild and the first BotW esque game I ever played.
Minor correction about the noble pursuit, it's actually mentioned that that's a special non-alcoholic version that was created to celebrate Mattison's arrival in Gerudo town! The bartender says so before giving it to you, but it's easy to miss if you're not reading.
So, Zelda painted a picture of Lover's Pond that now hangs in the house of Lurelin Village's Mayor, who tells you the story of how she came to the village, and why she frequented the village. It's worth visiting, if only because it throws a loop into one of your lore tidbits.
Little details regarding the Yigas that I like are that; - When you talk to Master Kohga while wearing the Yiga set he simply says: yes yes I know it’s you Link, mask and all… which I found very funny - When you go towards that one colosseum in the depths where some yigas are supposed to trap you into going inside when wearing the Yiga set, they seem to recognize you as well despite all the others not minding you or even letting you inside the Yiga hideout… they are little geniuses!
The Evermeans aren't Yiga. The Evermeans are just monsters. The Yiga trees are, you know, the trees that surround Mighty Bananas. When you go to pick up the fruit, the three trees poof into Yiga warriors. And it could be that, given the esoteric Sheikah secrets he possessed, Kohga may have mastered the power of Truth, the one replicated in the Lens of Truth.
@@xinpingdonohoe3978 this is false, in one of the yiga dialogue lines, they state that Link will never suspect them if they hide as trees or something like that
There is actually a prompt to return to the great sky island for that quest. I was prompted to visit it when i notices a large pillar of green energy erupting from the temples some nights. Much like the energy seen on Satori mountain in BOTW. It starts to appear once you have the Zora armor because at that point you can feasibly attempt the quest
when I did the Wind Temple, I was having these feelings of "have I seen this before". And then it hit me. Windark gave me huge vibes of Ark of Yamato from Okami. Man even thinking about Ark of Yamato still gives me huge goosebumbs. No wonder I enjoyed both Ark of Yamato in Okami and Wind Temple in Tears of the Kingdom so. so much..
Now the interesting thing about the horned statue isn’t the fact that it can move, but that it was moved. It tells you what happened first time meeting it, but it says that hylia moved it to the bottom of a pond, and then underground as a result of people (probably just link) still making deals
i'm only 20 minutes in, so idk if this will be mentioned, but one of my favorite connections between the depths and the surface is that all of the hot springs in hebra have lava beneath them!! it's such a simple little thing but i just think it's neat
Actually the noble pursuit Link has the recipe for in this game is sort of explained as a mocktail version. The barkeep mentions that it can be enjoyed by gerudo young and old 😊 So he's still getting teenager treatment by her 🤣
I remember coming across the marker in the Secret Passage under Hyrule Castle and thought it was mind-blowing. They did such a good job at making the world an even bigger part of the storytelling than it was in BotW.
me excited to get someone FINALLY talk about the secrets of this game, my personal favourite theory is that the eighth hero(ine) was the ancient hero, and why the gerudo were willing to fight the calamity and procured a champion
For Mipha's statue, I took it to mean the domain was finally able to move on from mourning the loss of the princess. Not that they'd forgotten her, no. They put her up high on the mountain that was once a place of fear. And in her place, they put a statue of their prince, now king and the knight who helped save the domain. To me, it showed their optimism for the future, while still honoring the past.
This has probably been pointed out already, but the Kotake and Koume theory is confirmed! Their outfits have their respective names written in Hylian, and their names are engraved on Gloom weapons
The thing about draconification being reversible is that I think Zelda was a special case It's seen in the molduga memory that secret stone holders can amplify each other's powers, and this seems to be the case in the ending. Link may not physically have a secret stone, but Recall is a power born of one, and everything around him went to its original state, without actually reversing time, so I think Sonia and Rauru just amplified Link's recall to be able to bring Zelda back
You get the Recall ability from Zelda at the start of the game in a similar way you get the other sage's vows. So Recall is Zelda's ability. If Link got a secret stone he'd probably get a more powerful version of his flurry rush and bullet time... Oh god he would be able to stop time for a bit.
I don’t care what people saids but I like Yona. She really help her future husband and childhood friend overcome his past trauma. And i would like to see what her own Zora’s Domain is like.
Also I'm pretty sure there was some sort of kingdom before Hyila had to create Skyloft. So Rauru could have founded the first Hyrule and then skyloft was created and then Hylia/Zelda created the "new" Hyrule.
my theory: every single game is in its own universe, it starts with skyward sword (for the games that have skyward sword easter eggs in them, wind waker for example wouldnt have skyward sword, nor the rest of the titles that dont feauture a spirit in the sword) so heres my idea: MULTIVERSUS every multiverse has its own link, zelda, ganon/bad guy wind waker and the likes are an entirely different world bc the whole "flooding" thing completely destroys all other lore perspectives so yes the timeline thing still happens, but wind waker ends its own line, the third line also ends, because its the older games, so that leads to the middle line is what makes totk or whatever line has the twilight princess line im currently remembering the lines from memory and then: everything burns. everythings chaos. then for a few years, the cannibalistic tribes of faron rebuild their weak society and then as rhing are going good, a group of god-like beings descend from the heavens, blessing the land and the people, new tribes from surrounding areas decide to help out, and we get: botw's hyrule, ruled by the zonai and the hyruleans together, yes theres are a few plotholes like "the rito came from wind waker how did they get here?" and the majoras mask etc etc dimension travelers. id say a group of ritos traveled to the chaotic world, everyone moved around, bc remember in wind waker the zora tribe died out, migration. tribes migrated from other dimensions to live here. because their world ended. people similar to the happy mask salesman, who could traverse the worlds (im relly proud of my theory it's probably not canon but its an interesting idea lolol)
1:04:52 My theory is that it was Link using recall to reverse the draconification. He didn't use it on Zelda but on the stone she consumed. Sonia said that it was like using the objects memory to bring it back to its original place in time. So Link used recall on the stone, bringing it out of Zelda's body. He was able to do this with the amplified power of Rauru and Sonia helping him at the end. Hence why when Zelda came back into her human form, the stone was back on her necklace where it was before she consumed it.
Zelda’s draconification was reversed by Rauru and Sonia using Link as a vessel for their power, light and time, powers they state is within Zelda. Maybe in a DLC, we could have a view of the future, where descendants of the dragons channel their fire, ice and thunder power to reverse their draconification.
I’ve seen people therize that link was a vessel because of his love for Zelda hence why she referred to it loveing when she woke up personally I agree with this but it’s not 100% what is certain is that embrace was link because if you go out of bounds when she says “loveing” he smiles so it was his embrace
I'm pretty sure the Bargainer statues state that they are "now able to create" the armor sets they sell to you, suggesting the Depths set has gloom resist because they make it that way.
Can we please talk about why the Bargainers are ridiculously JACKED AF?! Those guys can bench-press moons. Also, my favorite tidbit of lore in Tears of the Kingdom has to be the somewhat conformation that the Forgotten Temple is, in a sense, the Sacred Grounds from Skyward Sword. When you visit the Mother Goddess Statue, she is obviously toppled over. However, if you sacrifice 3 Elemental Dragon scales to the corresponding Springs and then return to the Mother Goddess Statue, not only would you find that the Mother Goddess Statue has been restored, but you are also rewarded with the White Sword of the Sky, which was previously accessible via Skyward Sword Link amiibo. EDIT: Another cool detail is that if the White Sword of the Sky breaks in TotK, you can reclaim it by sacrificing Dinraal, Naydra, and Farore's claws to the Mother Goddess Statue. However it only works if it breaks.
To restore the status you need the claws not scales, you did say that to get the sword again you need to sacrifice claws, which is correct but wrong dragon part for the first time.
I personally love how we can immediately tell naydra farosh and dinrall were zonai because they have the exact same facial structure as rauru. Since we only see two zonai it could be implied male zonai look like dragons and females look significantly more dog/cat like like mineru but I don’t think it’s enough to base solely off of mineru and raurus differences to assume that it’s because of their sex but it could imply all the dragons were men, which further supports the fact that they aren’t the golden goddesses, only sharing similar names
The fact that the goddess statues can sense each other IS fascinating... Especially since the way they word it makes it sound like each statue is its own entity rather than just one being communicating through the statues.
This game made me develop the theory that the King of Hyrule during OOT might have been secretly aware as well of that Ganondorf's intent as well, but fallen due to the same overconfidence Rauru did in TotK.
What I like about the zonai development is that through the additional suits we have a glimpse into the three zonai factions: one under the Lord of Owls (glider suit and perhaps the miner armor), another under the Lord of Boars (barbarian armor), and the third under the Lord of Dragons (zonaite set and the 3 elemental suits).
This is actually really cool. Considering how the sky Labrynths are called castles and how they have easy access to the depths and may have once had _proper_ bridges to the sky.
@@sackthebastardrandomly came up with a theory after watching this video and reading some comments... Since the Tri-force isn't really brought up in these games, we assume it's essentially forgotten to this eras people. We know Rauru and Sonia had at least one offspring, because Zelda is a descendent, literally living proof. So what if at some point in the past, the Zonai did in fact possess the Tri-force* but had to split it in 3, one piece for each of those 3 zonai tribes. What if at some point the leaders of those tribes, to protect their triforce (either from themselves or outside forces, like a demise incarnation) underwent dragonification, the way Zelda did it to protect the master sword for Link?. They're immortal dragons, they share names with Farore, Naydra, and Din, the goddesses who were said to have left behind the triforce after creating the world. If the 3 goddesses were zonai, and they had descendents who would later inherit the triforce, and they became dragons at some point, enough time could pass where the Tri-force is mostly forgotten. Could explain its absence in verbal references in these two games, but it's clearly a big part of the series since the symbol is still everywhere. I don't mind that they take a break from the Tri-force, but this would be a cool way to explain it's absence, and I'd they ever want to bring it back within this current continuity, we get more cool dragon stuff!!! *Also, I wonder if the Secret Stones are somehow related to the Tri-force itself. We've seen older games break even a single piece of the triforce up into shards or whatever. What if the Secret Stones are just an ounce of the Tri-force power. That could be why it amplifies the power already within the wielder.
Do you think that after this battle for those that have not done the battle Scroll to the bottom Since he was sent to the surface thanks to his stupidity again. With the dlc do you think he will attack now from the surface. Although after he was defeated all the members attack more and say they are mourning him so no sign of him yet 🤔
@@crunchyfresco It's the same in BoTW. After defeating Master Kohga, the other clan member also mention they are attacking to take revenge for Kohga's "death". I doubt he died this time either. He might be stuck on a sky island, or shot out of hyrule into some other dominion, or ever in outer space. If he doesn't come back in a DLC, he'll certaily return in the next game (if it happens in the this same time frame).
Actually, during a quest, you learn that Tauro is from Lurelin Village when he uses a phrase and Paya says something about how his Lurelin is showing, so he must be excited. Also, Josha is a kid, so she most likely is someone who was born right after Link awoke, right before Link awoke, or right after the events of BoTW. Meaning Josha is in the age range of 7-9. [Link is 25, since 7 years have passed. Maddison, Hudson and Rhondson's daughter, was born within the timeframe we don't see after BoTW and before ToTK. She's around 7 in ToTK, so that means Link and Zelda are in their mid-twenties.]
15:00 I'd like to mention that they also train all three triforce powers: the middle is wisdom for making your way through the maze, the top is courage for making it through the bottomless maze and dropping all the way to the bottom, and the bottom is power for defeating the flux construct
Okay to add on to lore 64, Hetsu not only gives you his "gift" but also does his dance from BOTW if you talk to him again. No matter how you feel about the Koroks, that's a neat throwback.
I've said it elsewhere, but I think the Sheikah tech from BotW now mostly exists as downloaded Data in Purah's possession. She pulled some neat tricks in AoC, so there's nothing to say that her counterpart here didn't download all the tech into safe storage to keep it away from those who'd misuse it, and it's safe from the Gloom that would just re-infect it. The few exceptions are the Sheikah towers (now Skyview Towers), their pedestals, guardian legs, and a lone rusty Guardian strapped to the top of Purah's lab in Hateno, probably as a prized relic she got permission to display. It would explain easily how it all disappeared so quickly, when all she had to do was touch her screen and they'd download into a pattern buffer (think Star Trek here), just put into safe storage instead of transportation.
The stuff made by the ancient Sheikah is gone - as is the last surviving ancient Sheikah, that being Maz Koshia. Only the creations under Purah exist now. Maybe Maz Koshia took the technology to some ethereal realm, such as wherever the Trial of the Sword occured.
I personally think they simply buried/disassembled the tech. Shrines and towers can bury themselves. The guardians were stored in the huge black pillars around Hyrule Castle in BotW. I assume everything just got sealed away and the Purah Pad is a copy of the Sheikah Slate and removed any ability to control said tech ever again hence the loss of the rune abilities.
@@freshlymemed5680 but it can't have buried itself really. It doesn't have room. We can see that it extended to the Depths (Kihiro Moh Shrine, Gerudo Tower) and yet there isn't so much as one Guardian down there.
This video got me thinking about a concept for a game. I’d love to see a game where Ganondorf somehow becomes aware of his past incarnations and becomes obsessed with finding a way to stop link after knowing he’s doomed to fail every time. We could get some cool Easter eggs relating to all the other games I like the idea of ganondorf fighting a link that doesn’t exist anymore. Like thinking BOTW link is OOT link who sealed him in his new memories
The thing is, there's no such thing as a "past incarnation" of ganondorf, it's literally the same person every time. It'd be more appropriate to say alternate (timeline) iterations of ganondorf. Granted, that's only applicable for the pre-botw Zelda timelines, current ganondorf admittedly does seem incompatible with the past timelines as far as we know.
Even just like the new domain being somewhere by the eventide island area would be so cool for a dlc- yona does look tropical after. Imagine a fisherman offering to take you to the tropical domain, there’s a leading screen, and then you get a checkpoint for a little added exploitable area in the necluda sea. Maybe a island or underwater kingdom (under water exploration armor?!!!) and Zoe’s lore, maybe the two domains can hint at the hostile rover Zoraida from older games causing the break off
47:16 One thing that'll make you think the logo is really cool, the Master Sword in the logo isn't alluding to fuse just like the "Tears" don't really allude to the secret stones, but instead to the Dragon Tears. The outline of the Master Sword matches the geoglyph of the Master Sword on the map. It took me a long time to realize it but when I did my mind was kinda blown
Another interesting fact: So you know how the secret stones amplify the abilities/powers of each wearer? Well, when Ganondorf gets ahold of it, he transforms into a Demon king almost identical to Demise in design. This further proves Ganondorf's connection to Demise's curse
@@adamH.1 Zelda doesn't resemble Hylia at all. Even from the silhouette we see of Hylia in Skyward Sword shows that Zelda would have to grow wings at least. Also, what does the power amplifying aspect of the Secret Stones have to do with this?
One of my favorite details has to do with the Emeritter Zonai devices and how the three dragon-shaped ones actually resemble the dragon spirits of their element! Frost Emitters have horns that point back like Naydra's, The Flame Emitter has two horns like Dinraal, and the Shock Emitter has one horn that juts out like Farosh. That leaves the Beam Emitter, which, instead of looking like one of the dragon spirits, instead looks exactly like the Master Cycle Zero, which has rather odd implications unless you chalk it up to an admittedly cool-looking reference.
The Beam Emitter looks like a unicorn. Have you forgotten about the dragon that the people of the land mistook for a unicorn, the dragon known as Aquamentus? Even the Beam Emitter then could be a dragon head.
I wish I could experience the Wind Temple for the first time again. I had so much fun even before the temple, gliding from ship to ship, trying to get higher to reach it. Love this damn game 😂
I’m not sure if it was mentioned but, during the opening of the game prior to you encountering Ganondorf, you’ll discover the wall mural depicting The Imprisoning War. However, not all of it is shown. Once you return to the same chamber at the end of the game, you can destroy the rocks hiding the murals showing Zelda’s Draconification.
I noticed the connection between the ancient robots of SS and the constructs during the play demo. This especially applies to the decayed ones in each game.
Two things I'd like to mention. 1. The hero aspect shows striking similarities to Zoni (obviously) and the Minish. 2. I have been talking about the Temple(s) of Time being connected by portals. Now we have the light shrines, that Rauru stated that he built, that use portals.
I don't really see the Link parallels on Rauru's part and I especially don't see Zelda parallels on Sonia's. I think it's more likely meant to represent Zelda's parents from BotW and what they were like had the Calamity not have happened.
In the legend of Zelda 2, Link enters a town called "Rauru Town". The town is close to the North Castle and is found beyond the forest to the southeast. It's the first town that Link is likely to visit in his quest. That's when the name "Rauru" was first mentioned in the Zelda series.
I think the story with the Blupee and Lord of the Mountain is that The Lord is guiding you to the caves to free the Blupees from what they have become. I think the caves corrupted them somehow twisting them into bubbulfrogs, and the Lord shows you the caves because he wants you to release the blupee from their new unholy bodies. The names of the Lord and bubbulfrog in Japanese also sort of supports this. Just something I thought about.
Gloom is Ganondorf’s power. Malice is Ganondorf’s rage, that still tried destroying Hyrule, and ended up weakening the seal of Rauru, leading up to TOTK.
The horned statue didnt move on its own. It was moved by someone else (i think the goddess if i remember right) cause it kept making deals with people. It had been moved multiple times before ending up in its current location Also in the end of BoTW, Zelda tells Link that the Divine Beasts have stopped working for unkown reasons
Ganondorf's two Gerudo attendants actually have the surrogate mothers names on them in the "a show of fealty" tear. Their names also appear on all the gloom weapons.
what i love about the depths is that if you go into the switch settings and invert the colors on your display, the depths map will look like the surface map, vice versa.
i‘m not sure whether that‘s also the case in english, but in the german translation, if you‘re taking a picture of the goddess statues for the stable picture quest, the little red tag will say „Goddess of Time/Wisdom/Power/Courage“ depending on the statue. That‘s interesting since they are all supposed to be Hylia, right? The statues in the springs also call the big one in the Forgotten Temple „the (statue of the) mother goddess“. So yeah, i think there is a lot of headcanons to be found there.
That's probably because they're in the Temple of Time, Spring of Power, Spring of Courage, and Spring of Wisdom. I think we should focus more on the "White Sword of the Sky" quest if you're interested in this bizarre kind of stuff involving Godess statues.
Another explanation for the game's contradictory lore is that it is not the same Hyrule as the other games, but the game takes so inconceivably far in the future that this is a separate Hyrule, after the fall of the one from the previous games. I believe Demise's curse encapsulates more than simply his hatred, the spirit of the hero, and the blood of the goddess - the entire world is a part of his cycle, similar to the linking of the flame from dark souls. Recurring elements and characters from the series such as Impa help this idea, and I believe the ancient past of totk is simply the world going back to the start of the cycle, and is why another character named Rauru founded Hyrule. The new temple of time could be this cycle's temple where Hyrule first founded, and the one on the great plateau could be the one from the original games.
Another thing that I think about Demises curse is that he dooms the incarnations of his hate to lose time and time again. Pictures demises last moments through his perspective. He knows he’s about to be completely dead and he’s boiling with hatred. What good is victory if you yourself won’t be able to experience it? He dooms his hate to lose in a last act of hatred to ensure that it is constantly reborn to go to war again. More war means more death and suffering, which is all that matters to demise. He doesn’t want to win, he wants to doom the world to a constant history of bloodshed. The curse itself is a victory for demise.
@@cajunking5987 I know, right? It is really the only explanation for totk's story. Another thing that I believe is the only real explanation for totk is its timeline placement, which must occur after some kind of timeline merge. There's this video about it on youtube which compares the situation to a Dragon Break from the Elder Scrolls series, and there really isn't any other reasonable explanation in my opinion. I'd suggest doing some research into Dragon Breaks and how well they compare to the current situation with Zelda lore.
For dlc of Tears of the Kingdom, We really need an extended story so we can see more of Zelda’s own adventure in the distant past while being a playable character and mastering her time power with guidance from Queen Sonia. Plus, exploring the origins of Ganondorf, reintroducing his surrogate mothers Kotake and Koume, how the twins plot to manipulate the Gerudo people while allowing him to be dubbed King, and what drove him in his conquest to rule over Hyrule. Many Zelda fans have wanted to see the entirety of the imprisoning war so badly.
@@sackthebastardI think we’ll get a Hyrule warriors game sequel to AOC which takes place 5 years after AOC and it’s about the imprisoning war in the past with Zelda playable and Upheaval with Link playable
Zelink is super canon now lol. Also btw I’m pretty sure that the gerudo standing behind Ganon in “A Show a Fealty” have garbs that say “Koume” and “Kotake”.
There being other zora domains makes a lot of sense especially with how different some zora are from each other and it always bugged me about king zoras size to me the only you can get the that size is if he at one point grew up in a large body of water as being that big would cause problems swimming in hyrules rivers I think he is also originally from another domain best part being this explains to an extent why the Bird people(sorry forgot there name) are around at the same time as the zora as its only a subsection of the zora that changed in that way
Yo! So- listen- under each leviathan skeleton in the depths is an even bigger skeleton called “dark skeletons”. Do you plan on doing a theory on this things?
@@HyruleGamerIf one of those theories suggest that Dinosaurs existed in the ancient past (or maybe they're what could be the very last of the Dodongos) I'm gonna scream in excitement
I completely skipped the finding the master sword quest. By that I mean I hadn't gone to the Korok Forest yet. I was on one of the sky islands and suddenly the light dragon was VERY close to me. Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to try and hop on. Boy was there a big surprised when I did and climbed up to the head. It was one of those fantastic video game moments where my curiosity and experimentation was rewarded.
I'm pretty sure I accidentally landed in it once before the official quest, but because I accidentally hit it trying to grab a shard, I jumped off the side to grab the claw or scale before ever reaching the head haha

Link is able to drink booze. Link has to be at least 25 years old because of one main reason. Mattison Hudson’s daughter. First of we don’t even see her in breath of the wild so we can assume she was born around a year later. Second in the time of tears of the kingdom she’s said to be 7 years olds so at least 8 years have passed making Link 25 so he’s very eligible to drink booze😊
Second fav:the suns location changed probably because the earth moves around the sun so yea
I think that the botw and totk games are a parallel universe. The same sort of stuff happens, but at different times. I dunno, but I am kinda sort on it.
Personally I think tears of the kingdom isn't that great I think it's good don't get me wrong but if you list all the major story beats it's the same.

Another thing: Ganondorf's Puppet Zeldas all appear as Zelda in her zonai outfit because, at that time, that's what Ganondorf remembered her as.
It’s avenge not revenge but still cool idea!
I never thought of it like that. I always hated the fact that they moved miphas statue, mind you when I first cleared the gunk and saw it was link riding Sidon I was furious! But yeah the way you described it, makes sense and calms my fury somewhat lol
Yeah, I liked that they moved her statue to a place of "peace and restoration" where you can pilgrimage to enjoy the peace of nature and wellspring; away from the bustle of town.
great perspective! that makes so much sense
When I originally went to Zora's domain I was like "oh god how could they do this to mipha? Lol
Isn't Polymus Mountain also where Link and Mipha rescued young Sidon from a Lynel? That would make the area even more significant to the Zora.

That was in Age of Calamity.
@@catalyst539 I could have swore there was a Zora stone tablet in botw that mentioned Link defeating a Lynal at Polymus Mountain years prior

A few things I noticed relating to some of the lore bits:
Maybe termina is out there somewhere
Labrynna and Holodrum are two countries outside of Hyrule and there's a Zora Domain in Labrynna. There's a possibility Yona comes from there.
@lambopambo1166 what if the big piece of land at the edge of the map is Termina? 👀
Yo. I’m kind of loving it and also fearing it at the same time. I’m not sure if I want that to be true or not…
This truly is the downfall timeline
Omg I love this. No wonder they wouldn’t let him in 🤣
Well I wouldn't blame them. I don't want a pervert in my town! (Source: Tingle DS games)
The eighth heroine is Tingle confirmed
At 30:10 with the tunic of the depths. When you meet a new bargainer statue he says “me and my brethren have combined our powers to create ___” meaning the armor didn’t exist until that moment. I think they created the armor to help link specifically. Being from the depths and having the knowledge of the depths, id think they know about gloom and how it harms any mortal beings.
Also it looks like the mini bosses are in the designs
👍
aww thats actually kinda sweet thoo
Number 70 is pretty simple, the sun is in a deferent position due to the changing of seasons, in TotK you can start finding pinecones so it is probably taking place in early autumn or so, as opposed to BotW where it takes place in maybe spring or summer? So the sun isn’t in a different position due to the upheaval cause by Ganondorf, but if it was, that would be really impressive on his part.
oh that makes sense on why theres more food too :D
Completely agreed
Fun fact, in the depths below each of Zelda's memorials, there's three spirits with undamaged weapons rather than the typical single soldier you'll find.
Wow, that is super cool!
How many of these memorials are there? So far, I’ve encountered 3

@wilhowie3378 mb I thought it said memories not memorials
Only the powered-up Master Sword could render that ability moot by simply overwhelming whatever pace of recovery that ability gave him :)
Edited to add the location of one of them: If you go to the Nogukoyk Lightroot north of the Great Abandoned Central Mine, head west on the same floor level as the Lightroot. Right against the cliffwall directly north of the e/o in "Grove of the Spirits" on the map, you will find one of the roots. Line yourself up with the length of it and open your map, and you'll see you're facing in the exact direction of Hyrule Castle :D
That's very interesting!
Honestly, I think there's another reason why they couldn't beat Ganondorf: they literally couldn't even put a single scratch on him. The fact that Zelda felt inspired by a chip of the master sword actually managing to put a scratch says as much,
@@sinteleonNot only that, but it was when the Master Sword hadn’t been powered up by the Light Dragon
Came here to say this
Wow I never thought of that, yet it makes so much sense. How did I not notice this lol
It's also a subtle visual reference to the Fuse mechanic, showing that the decayed Master Sword can indeed be restored in some way, shape, or form.
This blew my mind
something i find fascinating is the fact that Zelda's secret stone was Rauru's and Ganondorf's was Sonia's. combined with Link's arm (also courtesy of Rauru), in the final fight it's like the remnants of those two pitted against one another, and then in the end they combine forces to bring Zelda back to human form.
Unless I'm mistaken, don't the Bargainer Statues say they create the Depths armor for Link as a thanks for rediscovering them?
Yeah i was gonna say that
Even if that isnt the case, Gloom also existed when Rauru fought him. I wouldn't be surprised if the robes were created AFTER the imprisioning war as a consequence of seeing it first hand
One small correction, the name Rauru actually appears first in zelda 2- the adventures of link in the form of Rauru Town.
Cheers!
Nice fact!
Zelda 2 was my first Zelda game 30+ years ago. When I heard the name Rauru I was exceptionally moved.
Holy crap your right I totally forgot about that. We can prolly play the old games and there's a lot of things in totk that we have seen in old games
6:10 the blessings shrines or the labyrinth have Raaru refer to himself as King of the Owls.
The horned statue actually tells you in your first interaction with it that it was moved away from hateno by Hylia herself because it continued to do it's deal with people. It isn't mentioned again, but the first you talk to the statue it tells you.
The goddess really doesn't like this guy
What did this guy do to make Hylia hate him so much?
hylia hates him because he is a selfish deity that only helps people in exchange for money, money is all he cares about, hence why hylia moved him from hateno to below the earth, so no one could make deals with him again.
Exactly. It doesnt move by itself.
Hylia gonna be pissed when she finds out we still doing deals with it
Something I noticed with the sky barrier is that its there even in botw, you can see the dragons go through a weird portal in the sky, and I wonder if thats why the light dragon broke this barrier in totk
Shade, I thought the same thing!
@hananaltair3563 well yeah, that's what they do. But they can only do that bc the lightroots are physically connected to the shrines. Like its roots...
They are. Don't worry.
Those memorial plaques left by Zelda also correspond to- not one- but a cluster of _three_ soldier ghosts holding pristine weapons in the Depths.

Hyrulean is just to refer to someone who lives in Central hyrule. Hylian is used to refer to someone who is Hylian.
@@coryfreake9070 it demonstrates how the "founder" Rauru just made/rebuilt another Hyrule, and not the first one we see starting from The Minish Cap, which was made by the descendants of Skyward Sword Zelda.
@@xinpingdonohoe3978 Oh, I completely misinterpreted what they said.

SO I think that means it was literally just created specifically for the current Depths, not long ago
38:37 Another interesting note is that only Link can see those spirits. The Yiga have a notebook that talks about floating weapons but makes no mention of shadowy figures.
Even Link's camera can't see them, interestingly - whip out the Purah Pad and they disappear.
The Water Temple for me, felt like a Sky Temple just with water. It'd be so cool if that was the case. I think the Water Temple would have worked better as the Ancient Waterworks location. Or perhaps deeper within.

One thing I liked, is that Sonia actually has a small tattoo of the Triforce!

Maybe the labyrinths will be connected to the three pieces of the triforce in the future
Probably three different tribes? Whether they were even more ancient Zonai before Rauru or that they split up from the central Zonai group that descended from the sky.
@@manicpanic1I feel like owls are clearly wisdom and that leaves dragons being courage
also! the sky parts of the Lomei Labyrinths are labelled as "castles" which if we assume that in the past the labyrinths were actually all connected, it'd imply that the labyrinths are in fact the rulers' castles.
For the noble pursuit it is highly likely that it is not actually alcohol because first, the recipe when you cook it just contains fruit, and she states that she made this version for the new gerudo coming to town (mattison) meaning it is probably not alcohol
Drinks made from fruit can be alcoholic too. Like grape juice vs wine. It's only a matter of fermentation.
You’re right. I don’t understand how everyone doesn’t, but if you pay attention to the description, it clears it up. saying it’s a “VARIANT of the Noble Pursuit” “For EVERYONE”
Could also be a localization change... Because letting the player buy and drink alcohol would probably up the age rating in some territories.
I think it's the same with Noble Pursuit.
i think that while the adults get the regular
the children and link get the kiddie version
bc in botw 1 she specifically said "ur too younger for this drink" if you ask for a nobel pursuit
Devs recently mentioned it could’ve been a “re-founding” of Hyrule.
i think that the moldugas are just "beasts"
lynels are "beasts"
lord of the mountain is a "beast"
they aren't coherently evil, just violent, or bad omens
the malice/gloom poof could be a gameplay choice
As fellow Tauro enjoyer, let me tell you, his reaction when you talk to him while wearing the Ancient Hero's Aspect is adorable. It's a one-time thing though; afterwards he talks as usual.
I just realized that the chasm holes that replaced where Sheika shrines were 9/10 have poes at the bottom as you hit the ground.
Weren't they wielding Gloom Clubs when the dark Gerudo enacted the Molduga assault? That would explain the inscription.
You can translate the text on the sashes. They are Kotake and her sister. Ganondorf's sword has their names on the handle of his sword.
What has happened in the ages since?"
When i first found this, it was huge to me, but more importantly for the topic on hand: Rauru simply didn't know.
Kinda like the Triforce, tho they are upside down
@@NestyEco like Loryle's triforce?

It's also the same recipe as Age of Calamity's fruit juice replica - though it's smaller now, a little cocktail rather than a whole glassful.
So, Zelda painted a picture of Lover's Pond that now hangs in the house of Lurelin Village's Mayor, who tells you the story of how she came to the village, and why she frequented the village. It's worth visiting, if only because it throws a loop into one of your lore tidbits.
Which one? Also, I think the reason she came there was to see the fairies which not many people can see.
The depths below it also have a lovers pond but reverse (a heart shaped land Mass with water around it).
And a huge building next to it
Well considering that link is always with Zelda they both went to lovers pond with each other witch is really cute
This is proof that Link and Zelda did visit the Lover’s Pond… even most people won’t admit it.
Little details regarding the Yigas that I like are that;
- When you talk to Master Kohga while wearing the Yiga set he simply says: yes yes I know it’s you Link, mask and all… which I found very funny
- When you go towards that one colosseum in the depths where some yigas are supposed to trap you into going inside when wearing the Yiga set, they seem to recognize you as well despite all the others not minding you or even letting you inside the Yiga hideout… they are little geniuses!

I like that they moved Mipha’s statue. It was where her spirit found rest and move on, and it works well as a memorial to that

when I did the Wind Temple, I was having these feelings of "have I seen this before". And then it hit me. Windark gave me huge vibes of Ark of Yamato from Okami. wow, same!
You’re so right! No wonder why I loved the wind temple so much
Now the interesting thing about the horned statue isn’t the fact that it can move, but that it was moved. It tells you what happened first time meeting it, but it says that hylia moved it to the bottom of a pond, and then underground as a result of people (probably just link) still making deals

I remember coming across the marker in the Secret Passage under Hyrule Castle and thought it was mind-blowing. They did such a good job at making the world an even bigger part of the storytelling than it was in BotW.

The thing about draconification being reversible is that I think Zelda was a special case
It's seen in the molduga memory that secret stone holders can amplify each other's powers, and this seems to be the case in the ending.
I love Yona too!

It's possible that some time before Rauru's time, the ancient kingdom of Hyrule was long gone and he and Sonia simply started a new one
Also I'm pretty sure there was some sort of kingdom before Hyila had to create Skyloft.
So Rauru could have founded the first Hyrule and then skyloft was created and then Hylia/Zelda created the "new" Hyrule.
my theory:
every single game is in its own universe, it starts with skyward sword (for the games that have skyward sword easter eggs in them, wind waker for example wouldnt have skyward sword, nor the rest of the titles that dont feauture a spirit in the sword)
so heres my idea:
MULTIVERSUS
every multiverse has its own link, zelda, ganon/bad guy
wind waker and the likes are an entirely different world bc the whole "flooding" thing completely destroys all other lore perspectives
so yes the timeline thing still happens, but wind waker ends its own line, the third line also ends, because its the older games, so that leads to the middle line is what makes totk
or whatever line has the twilight princess line im currently remembering the lines from memory
and then:
everything burns. everythings chaos.
then for a few years, the cannibalistic tribes of faron rebuild their weak society
and then as rhing are going good,
a group of god-like beings descend from the heavens,
blessing the land and the people,
new tribes from surrounding areas decide to help out,
and we get:
botw's hyrule, ruled by the zonai and the hyruleans together,
yes theres are a few plotholes like "the rito came from wind waker how did they get here?"
and the majoras mask etc etc
dimension travelers.
id say a group of ritos traveled to the chaotic world, everyone moved around, bc remember in wind waker the zora tribe died out,
migration. tribes migrated from other dimensions to live here. because their world ended. people similar to the happy mask salesman, who could traverse the worlds
(im relly proud of my theory it's probably not canon but its an interesting idea lolol)
At 49:21 you can see the duelling peaks before they have been split into two in the cutscene of Zelda in the ancient past.
What i want out of dlc. Being able to interact with Sonia
*SIMP*
I’ve seen people therize that link was a vessel because of his love for Zelda hence why she referred to it loveing when she woke up personally I agree with this but it’s not 100% what is certain is that embrace was link because if you go out of bounds when she says “loveing” he smiles so it was his embrace
Or the direct representation of the Tri-Force: Raru is Power, Sonia is Wisdom, and Link is as always stupidity/insanity…. I mean boundless courage.
Umm… how are they jacked? They look like lanky armor suits
They can bench-press moons? "BARGANER STATUES ARE THE FOUR GIANTS?!?! Zelda Theory" lol
All the dragons are referred to as female, though
@@thesetwofloofs5397 not in every version- i believe in german they are referred to as men. it varies language to language.
@@lilliahpasco Ah, very interesting! Thanks for sharing

Maybe the three factions lived in the three areas. Sky, land, depths.
So with the Yiga chasm if you talk with Master Kohga he says that Link had banished him down in the depths after their battle in BOTW
Do you think that after this battle for those that have not done the battle
Scroll to the bottom
Since he was sent to the surface thanks to his stupidity again.

I'd like to mention that they also train all three triforce powers: the middle is wisdom for making your way through the maze, the top is courage for making it through the bottomless maze and dropping all the way to the bottom, and the bottom is power for defeating the flux construct
Okay to add on to lore 64, Hetsu not only gives you his "gift" but also does his dance from BOTW if you talk to him again. No matter how you feel about the Koroks, that's a neat throwback.
The Horned Statue was actually moved by the goddess Hylia, Which the statue says the first time link speaks to it.
Yeah, but Zelda didn't take any Hylia-like form so I don't know.
@@coryfreake9070 no because she already resembles her. Also the stone amplifies her time powers, which come from Sonia, who is Hylia's descendant
@@adamH.1 Zelda doesn't resemble Hylia at all. Even from the silhouette we see of Hylia in Skyward Sword shows that Zelda would have to grow wings at least. Also, what does the power amplifying aspect of the Secret Stones have to do with this?
She resembles the reincarnated Hylia(SS Zelda)
@@TheNobleSeer That isn't Hylia. Hylia most likely looks more like the Goddess statues.
I like how King Rauru and Queen Sonia are much similar to Link and Zelda... just like how the pair is a metaphor of the Silent Princess flower.

Lmao just finished the video and I got a heart. Thanks bro 🗿
The horned statue didnt move on its own. It was moved by someone else (i think the goddess if i remember right) cause it kept making deals with people.
It had been moved multiple times before ending up in its current location
Also in the end of BoTW, Zelda tells Link that the Divine Beasts have stopped working for unkown reasons
Horned Statue doesn’t move, it was moved by Hylia.
The Mipha statue is where it is because that place was made to honor her.
Idk how but this was obvious to me and I’m surprised so few other people got this idea
