I am totally hooked on this show, l watch it faithful. I will miss the Duke. He and Scarlett had chemistry . They were so great together. I wish the new man Tom the very best.🎉🎉🎉
Saddened we did not get the ending we wanted with the duke.
Kate is so wonderfully cheeky! 😊
I'm so ready for season 5..😊❤
Tom seems like a nice chap and good to have a fresh face, but if Eliza and Nash aren't end game, I don't want to know (though will obvs keep watching in the vain hope 😄). Fab show!
I’m going to give it a try. I’m excited to see the new direction, but my heart belonged to William.
I will really miss "the Duke."
Gonna miss the Duke. Won't be the same.
Love this drama 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍
I am very excited for the new season! I will miss Stuart Martin, but I love this show and will continue to watch it.
To put the audience and cast through such a rigmarole between William and Eliza only to see them so sloppily parted at the end is callous to say the least. It lends such a weakness to Eliza's character and makes all of what she values no longer plausible-her father would be tremendously disappointed. So many times Eliza was about to tell him, egged him on, flirted with him, and then let him go without a word of acknowledgement to her feelings or the validity of his own. Were they there at all if they were so easy to dismiss? No hard feelings towards Tom or Stuart, it's the writers who should have ended it when they had a good thing going. Wringing out the towel for the sake of a few more cases and the introduction of another shoe-filler character is only going to bring about its own conclusion anyway. A real shame that such a stellar show has fallen.
Miss scarlet & duke 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤👍
I can safely say for myself that Patrick Nash still reigns as the hearthrob. This new guy ain't so, he'll do for a lot of fun and such otherwise, keeping Eliza on her toes. I wonder what special gifts they sought for a replacement for the Duke. Well, this Tom Pritchard is also a director. Felix Scott and Kate Phillips are praised for bringing far more into the show than the scripts they were given. Now they have an actor who's also a director. Sounds like a loaded bargain and we shall see. I adore Kate and Felix most of all.
I watched the Crown for the chance to see Tom Pritchard as one of Princess Margaret's disastrous choices. Definitely worth the effort, he did quite an impressive job of being a clownish bored aristocrat, a cultured buffoon. He made that particular episode astonishingly good.
Tom Durant Pritchard is having a great year. He plays Darte in The Forsythe Saga, a new revised series to appear in Masterpiece. He has quite the way about him which is why Kate was excited to have him on board. Intriguing. He's really classy yet hilarious. Hugh Grant meets Hugh Laurie and they beget Tom. Forsythe will be a 6-episode series that drags over a few years. Doesn't seem to be a conflict with Tom's filming schedule for Miss Scarlet.
I will really miss The Duke also. Sorry he left the show.
Get the Duke back!
I'm totally done with this show, but I wish you well.
Where is DUKE!!!!???? I'm not going to see the show without the duke !!!absolutely not😠
Then, do the courtesy of not spamming if you are not going to watch the show any longer. You most likely will watch anyways.
So silly.
The first season of this show was the best, I became a fan. I've rewatched it many times. Then the show went downhill and now the erasure of the Duke has turned it into a children's programme. The writers have lost the plot. The Duke deserved so much better than the shabby treatment the writers meted out to him. Over the seasons Eliza Scarlet's character and behaviour have caused me to dislike her to such an extent that I can barely root for her to succeed and sometimes I just want her to stumble and fall face down in a pig's trough. Not a fine sentiment to have for the lead character of the show I once loved, but that's how it is.
And now the writers have chosen a circus director as replacement for the Duke. Such fun, but it won't work. This 'replacement' lacks any allure. Rachael New once stated that outsiders were Eliza's resources. The like-minded fellow has gone, the dependable Jamaican has gone, the dashing Scot has gone. In their stead we are presented with a snooty, posh sounding English inspector who is part of the cabal that kept William down? No, thank you! If that's 'the best that is yet to come for her', good luck to Eliza.
It's such a shame it has come to this, but it has turned me off as a fan, I don't care for the new season. For me it ends here. But fortunately, I will always have the memory of the steadfast, protective, supportive, amazingly generous, sensitive, caring, lovable and loving, humble and kind character that is William 'the Duke' Wellington, in the words of Ivy: 'a good man'. In one word: irreplaceable. I'll hold on to that memory and keep wishing that he'll find the happiness he so thoroughly deserves. I thank Rachael New for creating his character and especially Stuart Martin for his heartwarming portrayal of the Duke.
So disappointing end for William and Eliza …
If we cant have the Duke back... can you at least start a show with his adventures in America and maybe Liza can come to America on a case that they both end up working on...
It's funny how the creators thought we watched the show for Miss Scarlet....
@@gimleteye It's also funny that the Duke made it all to be about HE, HIS and HIMSELF.
@@RubyRuby878 funny that Eliza made it all to be about SHE, HER, HERSELF. Always has been the most selfish character on this show, taking advantage of the people around her, always out for her own gain... never thinking about how her actions might have consequences for others...
@@faintingspells3199 Come on, she was not that bad. And, there were times she came across as a saint. Remember when Fitzroy hired her to investigate Phelps? Even that guy came to have a better opinion of her. She would be boring if she didn't have naughty parts about her. She brings humor and wit along with the naughtiness. Every character had sides to them. Even her maid lied through her teeth during a case and manipulated Barnabas.
The show is mainly about Miss Scarlet. She is the primary titular character. Just because she wouldn't fuck the Duke doesn't mean she is a badass fool. Just goes to show that Eliza had a good head on her shoulders. And, if she had done the deed, what would it have said about her? She used her body to manipulate Wm in SY? She was the reason he was actually looking good hauling in the perps that she did the most legwork on.
Where is Moses ? He was the most interesting character and actor on the show. The scripts lost the plot a while ago. Better writers please more complex ideas.
