My wife and I were watching AGT the night this aired and I heard Angelina Jordan sing for the first time. When she was through singing, I turned to my wife said that was the best vocal artist I believe I’ve ever heard and I’ve been listening to her ever since. I’ve heard it said many times that her voice is like a drug...it’s true...before you know it, you’re hopelessly addicted.

They also turn down about 90% of invitation to perform, unless it fits Angelina's free time. They have put her education and normal childhood above all else. Her concerts are usually charity events, worldwide. She has performed for crowds as large as 40,000 in Korea. She is fearless, and says she is never nervous. She just loves to sing. As you can see her voice is pure emotion and soul, but she has many voices and especially a jazz voice to die for. Quite a number of vocal coaches have discovered and reacted to Angelina and comment favourable, expressing surprise that a 13 year old has such a mature voice. The react to two or three of her performances and the nothing! Simon was correct when he said that he had never heard that version,. Angelina re-arranged it for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelinafying" a song. The lady who first stood and clapped at the end of Angelina's performance was her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani. On her right was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette,her sister and last her uncle, Michael Astar who is also her Manager. My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7 year old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". The body of the 7 year old was still there but the voice wasn't. Or was it? I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later. I have followed her career since I saw that first video on RUclips and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz,Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers,like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lana del Ray, Gloria Gaynor, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Angelina said in an interview it always felt completely natural to sing on stage for an audience. Singing is the only thing that never makes her nervous. Her voice somehow resonates with our emotions, thats just part of her from the very beginning at Norways got Talent. She covered some 60+ of the greatest and amazed us every step of the way creating brilliant gems of music.
It is almost impossible to react to Angélina Jordan because she is exceptional. She was born with all the talents of an artist apart. At 13, she is a unique artist in the world with an extraordinary voice, captivating and so beautiful. And most incredible of all is her personality which is as exceptional as her voice, sweet, spiritual, generous, loving, modest, simple. This young woman is a rare diamond, a gift to watch and listen to without moderation, like the beauty of a mountain lake. Everyone is won over and bewitched by it and repeats the same thing about it. I know I'm a little late but I felt the urge to comment. I got out of bed early and decided to turn on my you tube channels in the middle of the night. I first heard you listen to and react to Lara Fabian singing Je Suis Malade. She was fabulous and, so were you! I watched the whole video including the breathing exercises prompting heartfelt reactions from one's heart :) Then, I remembered you had done a reaction to Angelina and I wanted to see it again. I'm so glad I did! Yes, you were blown away! Weren't we all! I regard this piece of music a true MASTERPIECE. Since this video (Aug, 2020) she has signed up with Republic Records. And, you know the contract stated very clearly that Republic would promise (on paper!) to do nothing to interfere with Angelina's creativity. She has now come out with her first song (an original) from the studio and I hope you will listen and react to it. It's called Million Miles. It's personal and has a warm message that she intended to also comfort people who hear the song.

When AGT Champions was filmed, Angelina was 13. Her 14th birthday was on January 10, 2020. We, myself included, say just watch how good she will be as an adult if she is so good now, but she actually is pretty spectacular right now.
Angelina Jordan is possibly the most important exciting performer on the "up and coming" music scene...her talent, composition, deliveries of pop music far surpasses some of the original versions. She's gracious, empathetic in that her "barefoot" performances are due to seeing a young homeless girl without shoes...she removed her shoes and gave them to the girl and Angelina was all of 5 or 6 at the time...from that day forward she vowed to not wear shoes while performing... she's been true to her word...just an outstanding artist and human being .. I get chills listening to her...the only artist to-date who I get chills listening to us the "Maestro" Andrea Bocelli.

As you are a voice teacher do not judge her for this performance, listen to more before you judge. The more you hear the more you will be shocked on what this little girl is all about. sings not just words but feelings that go deep inside of one. BTW a word of warning listening to her is a major cause of goose bumps! . LOL

A little backstory, for some of your subscribers who may not know......Angelina's Grandmother loved Blues & Jazz music, & they used to listen to it all the time, & Angelina was hooked, so her younger style tipped the scale closer to Jazz, and as she ages, she has developed many other styles of music, including her own, & now can sing almost anything!!! She also sews most of her outfits, does all her own musical arrangements, & goes barefoot, because she met a young girl when performing one day, who had no shoes & could not afford to buy any, so Angelina gave her the shoes she had on, & in memory of the girl, & poverty, she continues to goes barefoot! Angelina is signed to Angelina Jordan Inc. and is managed by her family. She has to finish school first. A lot of her concerts look to be charity work. She also picks her own music, but her mum has veto. If you listen to her version of Amy Winehouse Rehab, it’s hilarious, as she had change all the words. I'm happy for your first amazing and emotional reaction to Angelina, Natalia, I love your reaction. It's hard to react to an interpretation like this, you can only be impressed by the fact that Angelina at only 13 years old was able to face a challenge with such an iconic song as this and made her become her own song, with a fantastic reworking, a calm, powerful and terribly emotional interpretation and a great courage to take him to one of the most difficult audiences of the show. Simply, changing the times and the reading key, based on her ability to understand and elaborate the song which, for a girl of that age, is almost supernatural, she created HER Bohemia Rhapsody. She just loves singing and does it her way. ❤️ The 3 year old little girl in Norway had a dream, while watching the Talents on TV, to sing one day for Simon, I would say that after only 10 years she achieved it really well, she fascinated him ... and not just him! Angelina is not only what you saw in this perfect performance, she is much more, even very different, but everything she does is at a superlative level, she sang about 130 different interpretations, including covers, songs written for her and her originals written between 11 and 12 years old, if they seem enough . Her voice is indescribably beautiful, and I've run out of superlatives trying to describe her immense talent and unique artistry.

Thank you for your excellent and detailed reaction. Before I talk about Angie, I have to correct two things: one, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent when she was 7 and won it when she was 8. The other very minor thing is that this performance was in America's Got Talent - The Champions II (2), not 1. Now, about Angelina. She is Norwegian (of Persian, Japanese and Swedish heritage) and started singing when she was 1-1/2 years old (video to prove it). At 5 and 6 she begged her Mom to go on Norway's Got Talent but was told she would have to wait. She has several amazing home videos of her performing in a school recording studio when she was 6. Since winning Norway's Got Talent she has recorded 130 unique songs, many several times in different ways. She has written and performed three songs and had two songs written for her to sing. She sings all genres, except perhaps for rap, but is most comfortable with jazz from the 1930s to the 1960s. Although she follows the songs, she always makes them her own, injecting her special and unique voice and stellar technique. There is no one else who can interpret a song and deliver its meaning directly into your soul. She is the ultimate storyteller songstress. She has performed at many concerts, mostly in Europe, and is well known there. She donated most of her NGT winnings to charity and has helped raise over 22,000,000 Euros for charity. She used AGT as a platform to become known in the U.S. No singer won that show. She has lived in the U.S. from time to time and now lives in L.A. I was somewhat skeptical of you after your life coach intro but ended up liking and appreciating your comments.This was a day at the beach for Angelina. No stage is too big for her, so confident she is in herself. And with good reason. Her family has guided her well so far, and I am glad music execs have been kept at bay. She knows she's very good but doesn't make a fuzz about it, or surrounds herself with gimmicks or tricks when singing. She was born to sing. You can see it in her performances at Norway's Got Talent when she was 7/8. She's a natural, the voice of her generation. Mainly because, as you said, she connects with people, people are drawn to her voice. Angelina has a wide variety of vocal resources which she uses a she sees fit for each song. Angelina is my favorite singer. Her family keeps her safe and only allows Angelina to do a few performances a year. Her uncle is her manager and where ever Angelina goes you will see her mother, her grandmother (a well know Iranian artist) who usually records all kinds of footage of Angelina and her lil sister. She and her family have turned down many offers of record contracts and I even hear from Disney. Her outfit that she wears here was made by Angelina and her grandmother. The prints of the fabric is made from copies of her grand mother's art. So far Angelina and her family have kept her independent. Angelina has always appeared fearless on stage.

You really need to watch her first two songs she sang for Norway's Got Talent, I think it would go a long way in helping you see where she started. That acapella bit and starting from, I call it a cold start, where she received no start note and then to nail it. She did the same thing at 7 years old when she sang, 'I'm A Fool To Want You' also with no start note and she sang the whole song acapella. She didn't waver there either. Stay in tune and on beat from beginning to the end. I'm sure by now someone has told you that Angelina arranges all her own music. Some times she makes little changes, other times she makes big changes like here. Queen saw the performance and like it so much they put it on all their social media platform and sent it to everybody on their lists.

Great reaction. A very typical reaction to first hearing Angelina sing. Now Rusty should be along soon to give you her bio and playlist. But you have a very enjoyable journey ahead of you. She does not get nervous. She has been performing on stage in front of big audiences, on live tv, backed by anything from full orchestras, jazz bands, all the way to acapella. When she was through singing, I turned to my wife said that was the best vocal artist I believe I’ve ever heard and I’ve been listening to her ever since. I’ve heard it said many times that her voice is like a drug...it’s true...before you know it, you’re hopelessly addicted.

Nice reaction. Don't worry about Angelina, her family has turned down every contract offer since she won NGT in 2014. They also turn down about 90% of invitation to perform, unless it fits Angelina's free time. They have put her education and normal childhood above all else. Her concerts are usually charity events, worldwide. She has performed for crowds as large as 40,000 in Korea. She is fearless, and says she is never nervous. She just loves to sing. As you can see her voice is pure emotion and soul, but she has many voices and especially a jazz voice to die for. You need to ride the Angelina Jordan train of her career from age 6 to 14 to fully grasp the amazing talent she is, and has been since she first appeared . Quite a number of vocal coaches have discovered and reacted to Angelina and comment favourable, expressing surprise that a 13 year old has such a mature voice. The react to two or three of her performances and the nothing! Simon was correct when he said that he had never heard that version,. Angelina re-arranged it for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelinafying" a song. The lady who first stood and clapped at the end of Angelina's performance was her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani. On her right was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette,her sister and last her uncle, Michael Astar who is also her Manager.
My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7 year old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven year old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were Baby teeth. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. Declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Gestured off stage for the technician to start the music and then started singing. The body of the 7 year old was still there but the voice wasn't. Or was it? I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later.
I have followed her career since I saw that first video on RUclips and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz,Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers,like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lana del Ray, Gloria Gaynor, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. And I'll add an even more extraordinary item for you to consider, to show how unique she is. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener.
As I have noted above, I have been following her career a long time and have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What stands stands out for me is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing, once she starts to sing.
Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 120 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

I know I'm a little late but I felt the urge to comment. I got out of bed early and decided to turn on my you tube channels in the middle of the night. I first heard you listen to and react to Lara Fabian singing Je Suis Malade. She was fabulous and, so were you! I watched the whole video including the breathing exercises prompting heartfelt reactions from one's heart :)
Then, I remembered you had done a reaction to Angelina and I wanted to see it again. I'm so glad I did! Yes, you were blown away! Weren't we all! I regard this piece of music a true MASTERPIECE.
Since this video (Aug, 2020) she has signed up with Republic Records. And, you know the contract stated very clearly that Republic would promise (on paper!) to do nothing to interfere with Angelina's creativity. She has now come out with her first song (an original) from the studio and I hope you will listen and react to it. It's called Million Miles. It's personal and has a warm message that she intended to also comfort people who hear the song.

When AGT Champions was filmed, Angelina was 13. Her 14th birthday was on January 10, 2020. We, myself included, say just watch how good she will be as an adult if she is so good now, but she actually is pretty spectacular right now.
She is a natural, very unique vocal style, flair, she is very special.
Angelina Jordan is possibly the most important exciting performer on the "up and coming" music scene...her talent, composition, deliveries of pop music far surpasses some of the original versions. She's gracious, empathetic in that her "barefoot" performances are due to seeing a young homeless girl without shoes...she removed her shoes and gave them to the girl and Angelina was all of 5 or 6 at the time...from that day forward she vowed to not wear shoes while performing... she's been true to her word...just an outstanding artist and human being .. She also picks her own music, but her mum has veto. If you listen to her version of Amy Winehouse Rehab, it’s hilarious, as she had change all the words. The 3 year old little girl in Norway had a dream, while watching the Talents on TV, to sing one day for Simon, I would say that after only 10 years she achieved it really well, she fascinated him ... and not just him! Thank you for your excellent and detailed reaction. Before I talk about Angie, I have to correct two things: one, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent when she was 7 and won it when she was 8. The other very minor thing is that this performance was in America's Got Talent - The Champions II (2), not 1. Now, about Angelina. She is Norwegian (of Persian, Japanese and Swedish heritage) and started singing when she was 1-1/2 years old (video to prove it). At 5 and 6 she begged her Mom to go on Norway's Got Talent but was told she would have to wait. She has several amazing home videos of her performing in a school recording studio when she was 6. Since winning Norway's Got Talent she has recorded 130 unique songs, many several times in different ways. She has written and performed three songs and had two songs written for her to sing. She sings all genres, except perhaps for rap, but is most comfortable with jazz from the 1930s to the 1960s. Although she follows the songs, she always makes them her own, injecting her special and unique voice and stellar technique. There is no one else who can interpret a song and deliver its meaning directly into your soul. She is the ultimate storyteller songstress. She has performed at many concerts, mostly in Europe, and is well known there. She donated most of her NGT winnings to charity and has helped raise over 22,000,000 Euros for charity. She used AGT as a platform to become known in the U.S. No singer won that show. She has lived in the U.S. from time to time and now lives in L.A. I recommend that you continue your glance at the AGT performances before delving into her earlier (and very fine) performances.

Angelina is just straight forward. What you see is who she really is. She knows she's very good but doesn't make a fuzz about it, or surrounds herself with gimmicks or tricks when singing.
She was born to sing. You can see it in her performances at Norway's Got Talent when she was 7/8. She's a natural, the voice of her generation. Mainly because, as you said, she connects with people, people are drawn to her voice.
Angelina has a wide variety of vocal resources which she uses a she sees fit for each song.

Angelina is my favorite singer. Her family keeps her safe and only allows Angelina to do a few performances a year. Her uncle is her manager and where ever Angelina goes you will see her mother, her grandmother (a well know Iranian artist) who usually records all kinds of footage of Angelina and her lil sister. She and her family have turned down many offers of record contracts and I even hear from Disney. Her outfit that she wears here was made by Angelina and her grandmother. The prints of the fabric is made from copies of her grand mother's art. So far Angelina and her family have kept her independent. Angelina has always appeared fearless on stage.

You really need to watch her first two songs she sang for Norway's Got Talent, I think it would go a long way in helping you see where she started. That acapella bit and starting from, I call it a cold start, where she received no start note and then to nail it. She did the same thing at 7 years old when she sang, 'I'm A Fool To Want You' also with no start note and she sang the whole song acapella. She didn't waver there either. Stay in tune and on beat from beginning to the end. I'm sure by now someone has told you that Angelina arranges all her own music. Some times she makes little changes, other times she makes big changes like here. Queen saw the performance and like it so much they put it on all their social media platform and sent it to everybody on their lists.

Great reaction. A very typical reaction to first hearing Angelina sing. Now Rusty should be along soon to give you her bio and playlist. But you have a very enjoyable journey ahead of you. She does not get nervous. She has been performing on stage in front of big audiences, on live tv, backed by anything from full orchestras, jazz bands, all the way to acapella. Many will tell you to react to the black and white I put a spell on you. It’s probably the most impressive cover by a 9 year old ever done. Another favorite of mine in 10 years old Feeling Good, Live from the Stream.

She is singing the Screamin' Jay Hawkins (1956) version whose face is on the candle she held in the beginning.
She rewrote the lyrics and you will see the director checking her paper.

Natalia, I love your beautiful smile and it was obvious you were impressed with the way Angelina started her version of song. And then, Angelina took over and your smile disappeared and you had all you could do to keep your emotions in check. Natalia, we've all been down the same road with Angelina.
